さて、今週のLessonでは、私がShort presentationをやることになっていました。
目下、わたしのテーマといえば アイルランドしかないので、そのことについて
話すつもりでした。
一応、殊勝にも、Scriptを書いてみました。
Have you ever been to Ireland?
I never been to there yet.
I have been thinking to go to there for a half year.
I wanted to know about Ireland.
So,I bought a few books.
But they have no interesting things for me.
Because those books talks about a food a sightsee and a bar.
It was good.But It was not impressed for me.
Here is a book that was written by RYOUTAROH SHIBA
who was well known Novel writer.
and here is a magazine.
It's sound good.
He has reserched to Irish people very well.
He said many things about Irish people's character.
There is one word. It's "Dead pan".
It means that they have wit and humor.
Besides, too, there is an interesting place.
It is the birthplace of the interesting person
who is Lafcadio Hearn .
Ireland has a good whisky is Iresh Whisky and Guinness Beer.
I like them.
So, I decided to go to Ireland.
Now, I am preparing for the trip.

ところが、Lessonの１時間ほど前に、Coffee Shopに入って
おさらいをしてみると、なんとなくインパクトに欠けるなあと
思って、導入部を変更しました。
That day,I found a book at Kinokuniya book store.
Title was "Ireland KIKOU",it's means that travel skech.
というような具合です。でも、いかんせん時間がないので、
結局、「ぶっつけ本番」で臨むことにしました。
が、結果は、メロメロでした。
現在形と完了形、過去形は、混同するは、panicでした。
そのときに感じたのですが、質問を受けて、応えるときに
間違いなく「日本語」で考えて、直訳している自分がいました。
その典型は、「感動した」を
"My heart was moved for this book." と表現してしまうことでした。
先生は、日本人は、よく、そういう表現をしますが、
そういうときは、touch を使うとのこと。
そういわれてみると、日本語でも「琴線に触れる」という
表現があったなあ、と思った次第でした。
