■Yukari F. Meldrumさんの本が出版された。Contemporary Translationese in Japanese Popular Literature: A descriptive Study (Lambert Academic Publishing)である。博士論文をもとにしており、これについては3月3日のエントリーで紹介してあるので詳しくはそちらを参照してください。ただ、版元にもAmazonにも説明文がないので、裏表紙の英文を転載しておこう。
One of the main aims of this research is to examine the translational situation of popular fiction in post-industrial Japan. The goal is to uncover two main aspects surrounding the phenomenon of translationese, the language used in translation. One aspect to be investigated is the characteristic features of Japanese translationese, and the other is readers' attitudes toward translationese. This research is conducted within the framework of Descriptive Translation Studies (Toury, 1995).
日本の翻訳研究にとって重要な文献が公刊されたことを喜びたい。日本のAmazonに注文すると時間がかかるようなので、Amazon.comの方が早いと思う。
