南極研究科学委員会の科学会議での１つのセッション。氷床下に広がる、氷が融けた水の世界。そこで繰り広げる生態系。会場は参加者で埋め尽くされている。極地研のM先生も熱心に研究発表を聴きいっておられる。

氷床下の水界生態系は、尾瀬の「アカシボ現象」と共通した側面があるかもしれない。
