南極学特別講義II
北海道大学国際南極大学カリキュラムの一つである、『南極学特別講義II』がスタート。ドイツのブレーメン大学からWilihelm Hagen教授、スイス連邦工科大学からHeinz Blatter教授を招聘して、英語による熱い講義。
今週と来週はHagen教授による「極域海洋生物学」。大学院生の皆さんも積極的に英語で質問。そして、丁寧かつ優しく答えるHagen教授。

Life Strategies and Lipid Diversity of Polar Zooplankton
内容：
The talk is about how especially herbivorous (phytoplankton-feeding) copepods and krill cope with the pronounced seasonality of primary production in polar oceans and what energetic and biochemical adaptations they have developed to survive the long polar winter without phytoplankton.
