Week one of Summer Day School was full of fun! The elementary classes had their Summerlicious themed week full of fun cooking and cooking themed crafts. The preschools had the Elements of Life themed week with tons of science activities. Each day had many highlights. Among these highlights were the Elementary school classes’ lunch cooking and the Preschool classes’ field trip to the Nagoya City Science Museum.
The lunch cooking for the Elementary classes was Sloppy Joes. They chopped vegetables and sautéed them with minced beef. To top off this American dish they made American flags on toothpicks to put on the buns of this traditional American dish.
On the field trip to the Nagoya City Science Museum the children got to explore the vibrations of sound, experiment with different vacuums, feel extreme temperatures and even see the an imitation tornado! It was a very fun trip into the city and a great way to get excited about science.
