On 7 January, I got off at JR Shimbashi Station just after 4pm and walked along the left side of the railway line towards Tokyo Station.
The building of the Ginza Lion Shinbashi branch was to be demolished and there was a sign saying "Please send us your opinions on what kind of building you would like to see".
▼ The izakaya Bunzo under the JR elevated railway tracks was already open for business, and the good smell of grilled food was wafting outside the restaurant.
And the 'Oyster House' in the picture must be crowded during the evening hours since it was introduced on TV last autumn.
I thought I would take advantage of the 30-40 minutes I had waiting for the bullet train next week and try eating about 10 oysters while drinking a Kaku high-ball.
▼I would like to have about three of the first oysters raw and grill the other seven.
Half raw oysters are fine, and well grilled oysters are good too, I bet.
I would like to have oysters with lemon juice only, not with ponzu (Japanese citrus juice).
▼ Also welcome to cigarette smokers are the round, red tin stand ashtrays neatly placed in front of the shop.
