夕方の機上。窓から差し込む焼けが眩しく、眼に痛い。機内誌に眼を移すと、某私立大学の広告記事に一瞬時が止まる。<o:p></o:p>

その記事には、茂木俊彦先生（教育学者）が登場し、「専門的知識・技術を活かす“人間性”を育む」ことの大切さを語っている。とても懐かしいお顔だ。<o:p></o:p>

前の大学に赴任したのは、1998年７月１日。当時の山住正己総長から辞令交付。その後、１０分程度総長と歓談。私の経歴を見た総長は、「教育の実践経験」について訊かれる。極度に緊張してしまった瞬間。それは、山住先生が教育学者で、以前から先生の著書を熟読し、少なからぬ影響を受けていたからだ。<o:p></o:p>
赴任後、私なりに工夫しながら、大学院と学部教育を実践してきたつもりである。<o:p></o:p>

2004年７月末、退職辞令は当時の茂木総長から。総長歓談では、「新天地で存分に！教育実践に共感と科学を！」と熱いメッセージを頂く。<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> 
茂木先生は、著書「障害児と教育」で、教育の実践現場で「ほんものの文化・科学を伝える」こと大切さを指摘している。<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
「ほんものを伝える！」と「教育実践に共感と科学！」。この２つのことが気になっている、この頃。大学院教育はどうあるべきか？ 私なりに工夫していこうと強く思う。<o:p></o:p>
