千代田トーストマスターズクラブの創立５周年を記念して夕食会を兼ねた例会があり、これに参加しました。英語でスピーチをする機会をいただき、つまりながらも何とかやり終えました。これでやっと銀メダル（ＡＣＳ）に達しました。残るは金メダルのみです。以下は、スピーチの全文です。
Looking forward
Congratulations on our 5th anniversary!
In this special occasion I am very happy to have a chance to make my 5th speech in the second book for the advanced manual.
It will bring me up to the silver stage of the advanced communicator.
I have given more than 30 speeches until now mainly at this club as well as 5 abroad, as I was a member of a Japanese speaking Toastmasters Club in Taiwan for 5 months before I joined this club.
So Tonight I would like to share with you one of my speeches delivered in Taiwan hopefully in five minute.
I lived in Taiwan for nearly 3 years and it is like a home away home for me.
Whenever I visit Taiwan, I am always much impressed by its great affection for Japan.
For example, we are welcome at hotels or restaurants by the Japanese style bow and “Irasshaimase”. Japanese made Products including cars and motor bikes are flooded in the cities. We can easily find a lot of signboards written in Japanese.
I have never been to another such country.
Then why Taiwan loves Japan so much.
It may come from the historical relationship between the two countries, however, I have recently realized that Taiwanese are very good at looking forward rather than looking backward . They can immediately follow whatever they think good. So they accept Japanese style of greetings, they buy Japanese products, they use Japanese characters as promotional design.
I guess they must originally have an outstanding ability to look forward whatever situation they are
Let me call it “Xiangqianism (向前主義)”.
I learned this “Xiangqianism (向前主義)”.through recent two trips to Taiwan.
And I have decided to live my life looking forward.
Oh! I have to be more careful not to mixed it up with another word of same pronunciation “Xiangqianism (向銭主義)” which means “looking at money”.
