新芝浦運河の花壇に、小さな立て札が二つありました。花や樹木の名前を記したものかと思いましたが、よく見れば心ない窃盗者への言葉でした。花や植木を株ごと持ち去った人がいるのですね。
この花壇は多くのボランティアで管理運営されており、花壇荒らしには、散歩で花を楽しむ一人として、とてもがっかりさせられました。ボランティアの方々の残念な気持ちをお察しいたします。
I found two small signs in a flower bed by the Shin-Shibaura Canal. I thought they listed the names of the flowers and trees, but on closer inspection they were messages to mindless thieves. Someone had stolen the flowers and plants, complete with clumps.
This flower bed is managed and operated by many volunteers, and as someone who enjoys the flowers on walks, I was very disappointed to see the vandals. I sympathize with the disappointment felt by the volunteers.
