The other day, I got off at Tsuruta Station on the JR Nikko Line for the first time.
Since it is the first station from Utsunomiya Station, I was looking forward to seeing what kind of town it would be, but contrary to my expectations, it was a completely suburban atmosphere.
There are only two trains running between 9:00 am, and it is truly a local line.

There was a stand reader for Suica at the ticket gate of the station.
Of course, I've never seen one on the JR Utsunomiya Line in Tokyo, so I was a little surprised.
The area in front of the station was a lonely atmosphere, and I didn't see a smoking area.
The snow-capped mountains of Nikko in the distance reminded me of how different things are even within Utsunomiya City.
