マールブルグ熱

恐ろしいエントリータイトルですが、マールブルグは思い出の街です。マールブルグはドイツの大学街。大学院生の頃、学位取得後はマールブルグ大学に留学することを夢みていた頃がありました。マールブルグ大の先生に手紙を書いて、留学の許可の招待状も頂いたのですが、事情があって、叶わぬ夢となってしまったのです。<o:p></o:p>

先日の研究集会「雪氷の生態学」では、ゲストとして村瀬潤さんと堀知行さんに来て頂き、彼らと熱い議論を交わすことができました。実は、彼らとは５年前くらいにマールブルグのマックスプランク陸上微生物学研究所でお会いしています。堀さんとは、初対面でした。ご縁とは不思議なものですね。<o:p></o:p>

マックスプランク研究所内に展示されているMax Planckの像。この研究所には、私の敬愛する嶋　盛吾さんが働いています。<o:p></o:p>

そして、駅前で発見したロベルト・コッホ通り。微生物学者には是非とも訪れてみたい街です。
