アートスペース＠伊豆大島

大島在住のアーティスト尾形勝義氏のギャラリー、WHITEHEAD。ニューリアル展には間に合わずの訪問だったが、暖かく迎えてもらった。
もとは大島の高校の美術の先生。
大島の自然から受くるインスピレーションをもとに、感性の赴くまま、その初期には平面的な作品を、そして徐々に海岸への漂着物を素材にいたアッサンブラージュを制作。
個性的なインスタレーション作品は、精力的に種々の美術展覧会にて発表中。最近では游・桜が丘現在進行形野外展などに参加。

クリエーティブな人たちと話すのが好きだ。いつも時間を忘れて話し込んでしまう。人の心に宿るアートへの情熱は、人類のDNAにより受け継がれてきたものだ。そして、いい作品といっしょにいる時、人はとてもいい顔をしている。つくづく、そう思う。

少しづつ形作っていく。作品に向かうその清潔なまなざし。手を休める。思いをめぐらす。遠くを見つめるまなざしのやわらかさ。
考えている。苦しんでいる。迷っている。もがいている。でも、まちがいなく前へ進もうとしている。
ぼくらのそばには、いつも頭と心をいっしょうけんめいに使う人がいて、その人の手から、この世になかった新しい何かが生み出されている。そう思うたび、誇らしさに胸がいっぱいになる。

Iwanori ramen

Such as the eskimos have many words for snow, just like American people are fond of lots of type of meat, like the Japanese have many words for seaweed. And for those people on the other side of the pacific, the lack of words for seaweed should be problematic.
It is very confusing when reading the translated English ingredients for nori, iwanori, wakame and kombu since they all say "seaweed." Totally different foods with totally different applications.

Iwanori literally means "rock seaweed" because it is found in the crevices of rocks. It's very soft and delicate - almost like dried out lace. It's excellent to sprinkle on pasta, soba and ramen.　Iwanori is much more aromatic than nori which is probably the type of seaweed that people see the most in forean countries. If being crazy about rolls. then must be crazy about nori too.
Iwanori ramen (Ramen with pork bone broth and soy sauce based soup served with seaweed flakes)'s so special is how its unprocessed seaweed all over on top of the noodle looks impressive.

山羊座@三原山

村上春樹氏のエッセイ集「村上朝日堂はいほー! 」に「わりくう山羊座」という話がある。山羊座は9月下旬の午後8時ごろ南中。かつてはここに冬至点があった。ラテン語でCapricornus。

村上春樹氏は山羊座で彼の奥さんは天秤座。この組み合わせはあまり相性が良くないらしい。
「時々女房に対して『これはいくらなんでもあんまりだ。理不尽だ。ひどすぎる』と頭にくることもあるけれど、星占いからすれば事態はこんなものではなくて、もっともっとひどくなるはずだから、とにかくどれくらいひどいことになるのか、見るべきものはとことん見てしまうという感じで生きている」

相性の悪い山羊座・天秤座の組み合わせだから、いつまでたっても事態はちっとも改善されない。それでも、彼はぶつぶつと文句を言いながらなんとかうまくやっているようだ。きっと、それがまさに“相性が悪いカップル”でも長続きする秘訣なのだろう。

星占いとかよくわからないが、確実に相性が悪い山(=^・^=)ってある。例えば三原山。下界が雲一つなく晴れていても、山の上はガスってたりする。きっと最悪の相性なんだろうが、ごくたまに晴れた空を一瞬だけ見せてくれたりする。

Sunrize over the water

The sun rises over the water right in front no matter where on Mt. Mihara.
The low rays of the rising sun gave the volcanic landscape a golden glow and almost made it look like a friendly place. With the central cone retreating in the mist, the desert finally gave way to low woods.
Mt. Mihara is floating on the purple early morning haze.

Volcanic Deserts of Mt. Mihara

Oshima is the closest of Izu-islands which is some 120 km away from Tokyo. There can be reached by a hydrofoil jet ferry in less than two hours. Knowing Japan’s geological makeup, no one will be surprised to hear that the seven Izu Islands are nothing but the tips of as many volcanoes, they are in fact part of the so-called Izu-Bonin-Mariana arc which starts up North with Mt. Fuji at a triple tectonic junction and extends as far as to the Mariana Through, the world’s deepest marine basin.
The view of the caldera and the crater is very good. It is a strange and unusual landscape. Small gas vents along the crater rim remind you of the fact that you are indeed standing on top of an active volcano.
