留袖ドレス Tomesode dress

母の留袖を「起こした」のは去年の8月。あっという間に5月になってしまいました。

It was last August when I "woke Mother's tomesode", and now it is May already!

来月はいよいよ結婚式。

The wedding takes place next month.　

ついに完成しました。

Here it is!

着物とドレスは仕立て方が全く違うので着物の柄をそのままドレスに作り直すのは至難の業なんですって。

Sewing a kimono is totally different from sewing a dress, my aunt, who can do both, says.
 Also the width of kimono material is narrow(about 36cm), so making a dress from a kimono is very difficult.

几帳面な仕事人の叔母が心血注いで作ってくれました。

My aunt is a very meticulous craftsman, well, craftswoman

木賊の先端まできっちりピッタリ合わせてくれてます。

「柄合わせだけで三日も掛かっちゃったわよ。疲れたぁー」と言ってましたが三日でできちゃうなんて素晴らしい。

"It took me 3 whole days to do this, it was exhausting" says my aunt, but she sounded she achieved a sense of satisfaction

と言うより「できる」ことがスゴイ！！　

じぇれまいあは一生かかってもできません！！！

　　　　

（全体、前、後ろ）と、着物だったときと同じ裾模様。　

着物の仕立ての性質上、どうしても柄が合わない箇所があるので、その部分はスリットにしてもらいました。

素晴らしい仕上がりで大満足です！！

紬ドレスに続いて留袖ドレスも完成。

実はこの他にもいろいろ作ってもらったのでした。
