昨夜千代田トーストマスターズクラブ例会で発表したスピーチの全文です。
自分としては、韓国語（名前と歌）も入れて２か国語で話したつもりです。
今夜の言葉"priceless"（貴重な）も即席で挿入しました。
なお、大統領秘書室長の本名は金桂元ですが、金氏が２名登場するので区別するため愛称名を使いました。
Some of our club members may know that I had lived in Korea for 16 years.
I started to live there from June 1975 when I became a diplomat at the age of 25 and devoted my early days to learn about Korea including its language, society and history so on.
During my first stay in Korea, I enjoyed the priceless life under the military administration controlled by President 박 정희（HE Park Jeong Hee：大統領） whom I also respected for his passion to develop nation’s economy.
So I was greatly shocked at the news of his sudden death by assassination.
The incident occurred in the evening of October 26 in 1979.
On that day, President Park invited three of his closest friends to a dinner at the secured place in Seoul.
They were Director for Presidential Guard Service, 차 지철（Mr. Cha：大統領警護室長）, Director for Central Intelligence Agency, 김 재규（Mr. Kim：中央情報部長） and Secretary for President’s Office, 도 승지（Mr. Do：大統領秘書室長）.
The dinner party started in a good atmosphere attended by 2 young ladies but gradually it went to worse due to the emotional conflict between Mr. Cha and Mr. Kim.
President Park asked,
“How do you explain the recent anti-government rallies in local cities, Mr. Kim?”
“I am afraid they are reaching a level of intensity.” replied Mr. Kim.
“Nothing to worry, Mr. President, I will grind the demonstrators down” Mr. Cha said.
(“It was none of his business”) Mr. Kim thought in mind but did not speak out.
After drinking a bottle of whiskey the President suggested.
“Now let sing songs for fun.”
To follow his suggestion a lady singer sang 2 songs, then Mr. Cha was invited by her to sing.
At this moment Mr. Kim slipped away from his seat pretending to receive a telephone call.
When Mr. Kim returned with a gun hidden in his pocket, another lady was singing a Korean popular song of 사랑해.
“사랑해 당신을 정말로 사랑해♪～”
“Mr. President! You shoudn’t be accompanied by this worthless guy!”
“Baa---n” Mr. Kim shot at Mr. Cha.
“What on earth are you doing? Mr. Kim” the President shouted.
“Baa—n” Mr. Kim’s second shot hit the President.
The lady quickly came near and cheered him.
“I am all right. Really all right.” He responded in a weak voice.
“Baa---n” The third bullet went through his head.
Finally President Park was dead and his 18 year autocracy came to the end as well.
But the assassination could not bring any better situation that Mr. Kim wished.
Citizens had to wait another 13 years for democracy in Korea.
I strongly hope the current President of Korea, 박 근혜（HE Park Gun Hye）, the 2nd daughter of 박 정희, will lead her Administration successfully and keep a good relationship to Japan.
