The day before yesterday, I got up early and got on the subway 2 hours and 15 minutes earlier than usual.
I stopped off at a smoking area on the way and looked ahead and saw trash scattered everywhere. Today was the day to put out food waste, so I'm sure it was the work of a crow.
Still, it was quite a spectacular mess. It was a sight I'd never see during my usual commute to work.
In the past, Tokyo's trash was dumped on "Dream Island."
The trash was buried in Tokyo Bay and over the years it was turned into a landfill.
That area became the current Toyosu area. So I took annual leave that day and headed to visit the site of "Dream Island," which has completely changed.
