喜多方ラーメン坂内でお腹を満たす〈英訳付〉

自宅から歩いて、JR石川町駅を通り過ぎ元町に入りました

私たちは、お目当ての喜多方ラーメンで10分ほど並び、セットメニューや餃子、炙りチャーシュー丼を食べながら、アサヒスーパードライ瓶ビールを美味しくいただきました

暑いくらいの日差しの中、喉の渇きを我慢して歩いた後のビールは、身体中に沁み渡りました

ちぢれ麺とさっぱりスープ、私は大盛りにして喜多方ラーメンを堪能したのです

I walked from my house, passing JR Ishikawacho Station and entering Motomachi.

We waited in line for about 10 minutes at our destination Kitakata ramen restaurant, and enjoyed delicious Asahi Super Dry bottled beer while eating set menus, gyoza, and seared pork rice bowls.

After walking in the scorching sun, suffocating our thirst, the beer soaked into my whole body.

I ordered a large portion and thoroughly enjoyed the Kitakata ramen with its curly noodles and refreshing soup.

本日の阪神タイガース〈英訳付〉

雨にも負けず、風にも負けず71才の僕は頑張りました

そんな僕へのご褒美は、本日（2025.5.6）の阪神タイガースです

帰路の上野東京ラインで、プロ野球のチェックをしていたら、昨日に引き続き、阪神タイガースは巨人を大きくリードしています

I'm 71 years old and I did my best, not giving in to the wind or the rain. My reward for that is today's Hanshin Tigers. On the way home, I was checking the pro baseball news on the Ueno-Tokyo Line and noticed that the Hanshin Tigers were still leading the Giants by a large margin, just like yesterday.

サントリーは商売上手です〈英訳付〉

バルコニーのオリーブ🫒の木は、妻の剪定によって裸にされた

今年は花も咲かないだろうと思っていたが、そうでもなかった

去年は大不作でオリーブ🫒の実が数個しか採れなかった。今年はもっと実をつけてくれることだろう

ところで、わが家のちょい飲みはサントリーのトリスハイボールだ

サントリーという会社は、ウィスキーやBOSS・伊右衛門などの清涼飲料のみならず花卉分野でも、青いバラ、紫色のカーネーションなど、商品開発力に優れ高付加価値の花々を提供している

わが家のベランダでは、サントリーのこぼれ咲き「フィオリーナ」2種が、数か月間ずっと咲いている

サントリー化粧品の定期購入によるサービスとして、妻が抽選に応募して花のポットが当たった

そうか、サントリーは化粧品はもとより、通販サプリメント分野でもテレビCMの常連だ

The olive🫒 tree on the balcony was stripped bare by my wife's pruning.

I thought it wouldn't bloom this year, but that wasn't the case.

Last year was a poor harvest and we only got a few olive🫒 fruits. This year, it will bear more fruit.

By the way, our favorite drink is Suntory's Torys Highball.

Suntory is a company that not only produces soft drinks such as whiskey and BOSS Iyemon, but also produces flowers in the floral field, such as blue roses and purple carnations, and has excellent product development capabilities, providing high-value-added flowers.

On our balcony, two varieties of Suntory's "Fiorina" have been blooming for several months.

As a service for regular purchases of Suntory cosmetics, my wife entered a lottery and won a pot of flowers.

I see, Suntory is a regular on TV commercials not only for cosmetics but also for mail-order supplements.

UQからau.そしてauからUQへ〈英訳付〉

1月29日、私のスマホ（iPhone7、UQ mobile）が快適使用の限界に達したのでiPhone15に機種を替え、契約上の理由からauにしました

約3か月後の今日、auからUQに切り替えるため、ショップで約2時間、スタッフの女性に詳しい説明を聞きながら、新しい契約を終えました

電気ガス料金もauからの支払いにしたり、auカードを作ったり、各種割引も利用し月々の支払い額を抑えることができました

On January 29th, my smartphone (iPhone 7, UQ mobile) reached its limit of comfortable use, so I changed to an iPhone 15 and switched to au for contractual reasons.

Today, about three months later, I completed my new contract in order to switch from au to UQ, spending about two hours at the shop listening to detailed explanations from a female staff member.

I was able to reduce my monthly payments by paying my electricity and gas bills through au, getting an au card, and taking advantage of various discounts.

クロスストリート寄席の最終回〈英訳付〉

昨日（2025.4.30）、私は第31回クロスストリート寄席で、桂歌助、桂枝太郎、桂歌春師匠の落語を楽しんできました

5月末で閉館となるクロスストリート（伊勢崎モールのライブ会場）で15年前から始まった寄席は、入場料1000円、桂歌丸師匠亡き後も門下5人のお弟子さんが中心になり、近隣の横浜市民に落語を楽しませてくれました

長い間、本当にありがとうございました。バックアップしてくれた伊勢崎町商店街の皆様にも感謝申し上げます。ありがとうございました

Yesterday (April 30, 2025), I enjoyed the rakugo performances of Katsura Utasuke, Katsura Edataro, and Katsura Utaharu at the 31st Cross Street Yose.

The yose, which began 15 years ago at Cross Street (a live music venue at Isesaki Mall), which will close at the end of May, has an admission fee of 1,000 yen, and even after the death of Master Katsura Utamaru, his five disciples have continued to entertain the neighboring Yokohama citizens with rakugo.

Thank you very much for all your hard work over the years. I would also like to thank everyone in the Isesakicho shopping district for their support. Thank you very much.

キンタローさんの第九〈英訳付〉

私は、「初耳学」キンタロー60日密着に感動させられました

キンタローさんへのリスペクトが、さらに深まりました

第九の指揮者は佐渡裕さん、素晴らしいパフォーマンスでしたね

I was really moved by the 60-day coverage of Kintaro on "Hatsumimigaku"

My respect for Kintaro has grown even deeper

The conductor of the Ninth Symphony was Yutaka Sado, and it was a wonderful performance

シンビジュームとさつきが咲いています〈英訳付〉

横浜市内のさつきと、わが家のシンビジュームです

華やかなのは、渋谷のパチンコ屋さんのサービスキャンディ🍬です。お花畑みたいですね

These are Satsuki in Yokohama and Cymbidium in my home. The gorgeous ones are complimentary candies🍬 from a pachinko parlor in Shibuya. It looks like a flower garden.

横浜市会議員補欠選挙について〈英訳付〉

横浜市議会議員補欠選挙、私は散歩がてら投票してきました

菅元首相のお膝元、自民の市議が突然辞職しアメリカで起業するらしいです。

その結果、立民・国民・維新・共産の新人候補による短期決戦になりました

個人的には辞職した有望株の市議が、将来、菅さんの後継者になるのかな？と勝手に思っていました

何があったのでしょうか？

選挙の結果は、国民民主党の新人で介護士の熊本千尋氏（30）が初当選を確実にしました

I went for a walk and voted in the Yokohama City Council by-election.

It seems that a city council member from the Liberal Democratic Party, which is in the hometown of former Prime Minister Suga, suddenly resigned and is going to start a business in America.

As a result, it became a short-term showdown between new candidates from the CDP, People's Party, Nippon Ishin Party, and Communist Party.

Personally, I thought that the promising city council member who resigned would become Suga's successor in the future.

What happened?

The election result was that Chihiro Kumamoto (30), a care worker and new member of the Democratic Party for the People, secured her first victory.
