今夜はオフ会仲間と東伏見で焼き肉を堪能しました。
気のおけない仲間との食事は最高です。
昨夜は、NHKスペシャルで危険ドラッグの問題が取り上げられていました。
麻薬や覚醒剤の問題は、私が子供の頃から存在するわけですが、ここまで深刻ではなかったように思います。
いわゆるチンピラ層にとどまらず、社会の範たるべき教師や警官などにも蔓延しているというのですから、嫌になってしまいます。
ところで、カタカナでドラッグと書くと区別がつかないのですが、英語でdrug（薬物）とdrag（動詞で牽引する等の意味。俗語の名詞でクルマの意味も）では大違い。
ドラッグレース（英: Drag race）は、アメリカを発祥とする、直線コース上で停止状態から発進し、ゴールまでの時間を競う自動車競技です。
ひと昔前は、クルマが急発進して400mに達する時間を競いあう「ゼロヨン」が、クルマの性能比較において、日本でも重要視されていました。
YouTubeで、本場アメリカのドラッグレースの様子を見つけました。

燃費は度外視。湯水のように資金を注ぎ込んでクルマを改造してのパワー勝負は、いかにもアメリカらしいと思います。
