花の季節にふさわしく
市場の中も花盛り。
目移りしながら歩いていると
一束のバラが目にとまる。
淡いアプリコット色の
フリルのような花弁
そしてそのボリューム。
あまり見たことのない
バラだった。
買って帰って青い瓶に飾る。
というか青い瓶に飾ろうと決めていた。
日に日にゴージャスさを増す
そのバラに
いっとう喜びを感じたのは
名前を知った時だった。
「ラ・カンパネラ」。
たまらなく好きなリストの曲の名。

朝は蕾だった
木香薔薇が咲いた。
長く伸びた枝には
今にも開きそうな
まるい蕾がぎっしり。
見つめていれば
早送りした映像のように
花開く様子が見られそうな
そんなうららかな日。
足元では
桔梗が茎を伸ばし
隣の子どもは半袖Tシャツ。
夏がそう遠くないことを知る。

たゆまない仕事で
チャボヒバのてっぺんまで上り詰めた
スイカズラが行き先あぐねて
海の匂いのする風に揺れている。
突然、強い雨が降り出し
蔓を叩きつける。
風も勢いを増し
蔓はムチのように空を切る。
これからは
こんな日がしばしばあるのだろう。
それでも
スカズラは葉を落とさないで耐え忍ぶ。
「忍冬（にんどう）」というもう一つの名のごとく。
そして春には
出会うものたちすべてに
惜しみないKISSを贈るのだ。
「吸い葛」の名のごとく
すぼめた唇のような花を咲かせて・・・。

黒点病で
葉をすっかり落とした
枝の先で
紅い小さなバラが咲いている。
ひょろひょろと
でも堂々と・・・。
なんのためらいもなく
なんのてらいもなく
ただ一途に・・・。

ぐったりしおれ
香りも消え失せ・・・。
それでもなぜか捨てられず。

カサカサになり
艶も消え失せ・・・。
それでもいまだ捨てられず。

誇らしげなバラが一輪。

寒さは

冬至－太陽の誕生日。

花瓶の中で根を伸ばし、
土に植えられ、
命ながらえし黄色いバラよ。
再び大地に還えると、
うだるような暑さの中でも、
雪の中でも花を咲かせた。
尺取り虫に丸坊主にさせられながらも
その都度、豊かな葉を茂らせた。
足元に置かれたゼラニウムに恋をして
花弁をほんのり紅色にも染めた。
一度大地から離れたことで、
不思議な力を蓄えた黄色いバラよ。
今また、たわわに蕾をつけ
咲かんとする黄色いバラよ。
その妖しいまでも濃い薫りは、
たたずむものを異次元へと誘う…。

5月になっても沈黙をしていた
木香薔薇の芽が吹いた。
聞けば、
成長を恐れた持ち主に
常に短く刈り取られ、
花をつけさせてもらえなかった苗だという。
ためらいながらも
沈黙を破ることを決意した
木香薔薇よ。
青々とした枝葉を存分に伸ばせ。
そして、
空を埋め尽くすほどの花をつけ、
自らの香りに酔いしれよ。
