先に、この曲は、マーヴェレッツの楽曲と記しましたが、大元の作詞・作曲者はウィリアム・ギャレットで、ジョージア・ドビンズ、フレディ・ゴーマン、

ブライアン・ホーランド、ロバート・ベイトマンが手を加えたものだそうです。

1963年にはビートルズによってカバーされ、1974年にカーペンターズによってもカバーされ、1975年初頭のBillboard Hot 100で第1位を獲得しています。

"Vaya con Dios."は比較的長い別れの際の決まり文句で、Dios（神） con（とともに） vaya（行きますように）という意味。

"Vaya con Dios"の次に歌われる"May God be with you."と同義です。

日本語では、「つつがなき旅を」とか「気をつけて行ってらっしゃい」といった意味になりましょうか。

この曲「悲しき街角」（Runaway）は、デル・シャノンが1961年2月に発表したシングルです。

ファルセットや短調から長調への転調を特徴とし、同年4月から4週連続全米一位を記録しています。

日本では、飯田久彦（1961年）と、柳ジョージ（1983年）がそれぞれ日本語に訳詞され、シングルとして発表されました。

あれ、カナリアって黄色じゃない？

そうなんですよね、日本でのタイトルが「青いカナリア」ですから、つい勘違いしちゃうのですが、この場合のBlueは「さみしい」「憂鬱」のブルー。

しかも、この歌は、スラブ圏のヨーロッパの古い民謡で、各国でメロディと歌詞が少し異なっています。

これを元に1952年にヴィンセント・C・フィオリノ（Vincent C. Fiorino）が作曲、英語とイタリア語の作詞をしたものが、現在知られている歌です。

バック・コーラスと鳥の囀り、ビッグ・バンド風と盛り沢山のどこか不気味で奇妙な雰囲気にアレンジしたカンツォーネで、それが独特の魅力となっています。

 アメリカでは1952年にダイナ・ショア（Dinah Shore）がポップスのアレンジでカバーして、日本でもヒットし、これを元にした雪村いづみさんの英語と

日本語の歌詞によるカバーで広く知られる歌となりました。

古代イスラエルの士師であったサムソンは、ツォルアにいたデリラと恋仲になり心を許していた。

ペリシテ人の領主たちはサムソンを倒すために、デリラにそれぞれが銀1100枚ずつ渡すと告げて買収する。

デリラはサムソンの力の秘密を探ろうとするが、サムソンは3度もうそをついてデリラをだます。

しかし、4度目にデリラが泣きすがったときに、サムソンは髪に力の秘密があることを打ち明けてしまった。

デリラはサムソンが真実を明かしたことを直感的に悟り、ペリシテ人の領主たちに密告した。

デリラはサムソンが眠っている間に髪の毛を剃る。

髪の毛を失ったサムソンは力を失い、襲ってきたペリシテ人に抵抗できず捕らえられることになった。

そして、サムソンは悲劇的な最期を迎えることになる。

ユダヤ教ではデリラは、「弱くする」を意味するヘブライ語「ダーラル」から作られたと言われています。

アラビア語から「妖婦」「誘惑する女」という意味と、アッカド語から「イシュタルの賛美、威光」という意味、また「上品な」「贅沢好みの」の意味とする説も。

「デリラ」、英語では「ディライラ」と発音します。

忘れてしまいたい！・・・でも、忘れるというよりは、すっかりと、覚えていない。（笑）

青春から遠ざかるにつれ、ホント、記憶力が減退します、いわゆる、もの忘れ。

忘れてしまいたくないのに、忘れてしまう。

いわゆる、忘却の河の水を飲んで、冥界の彼岸を渡らなくとも、此岸においても、かなり忘却しているものです。

でも、忘却するからこそ、人は生きてゆけるのかも知れません。

しかし、高齢化社会に入って、アルツハイマー型痴呆などに関心がもたれるようになり、その中で、忘却する人間の記憶のメカニズムも、

徐々に解明されつつあります。

記憶は、まずその情報を「認知」して、憶え込む「記銘」からはじまり、そして忘れないように記憶の痕跡として「保持」して、その保持した記憶を、

必要に応じて思い出す「想起」という過程を経るのが記憶のメカニズムだそうです。

そして、もの忘れして、「想起」できなくても、なにかの拍子で思い出して、すぐに「再認」できるのなら問題ありません。

昨夜食べた晩ご飯のおかずが想い出せないのは、単なるもの忘れといえますが、昨夜晩ご飯を食べたかどうかを思い出せないというのであれば、

ちょっと深刻になる必要があります。（笑）

記憶には、大別して、エピソード記憶と、意味記憶とがあります。

エピソード記憶というのは、特定の日時や場所と関連した個人的な経験に関する記憶、いわゆる想い出に相当します。

意味記憶というのは、学習を通じて得られた知識などです。

これらの記憶は、長期記憶といって、通常、長く保持されます。

そして、アルツハイマー型痴呆は、とくにエピソード記憶が、障害を受けやすいという特徴があります。

だから、子供の頃に覚えた数式は、思い出しても、いままで暮らしてきた家族の名前が思い出せないなどということが起こります。

野の花の名前は忘れても、ノートが１９７０年発売のジャポニカ学習帳であることを思い出せなくても、それは、大丈夫です。（笑）

でも、その野の花を見て、これが、いつ、どこで、誰が、どのような状況でくれたのかを、思い出せないとしたら、エピソード記憶が、

かなり危うい状況にあることになります。

予防としては、次のような、ライフスタイルがいいとのことです。

（１）知的好奇心を持つこと
 

（２）両手を用いた創造的な行為を行うこと
 

（３）会話の場をできるだけ多くもつこと

・・・ということは、この、サイトで、知的好奇心を刺激して、両手入力で掲示板に書き込みをして、多くの人と交流を持つことが、予防として効果的です。（笑）

OK牧場の決闘、英語: Gunfight at the O.K. Corral）とは、1881年10月26日、アリゾナ州コチセ郡トゥームストーンのO.K.コラル近くの路上で起こった

銃撃戦のことです。

1881年10月26日、ワイアット・アープらを始めとする市保安官たちと、クラントン兄弟（父親オールド・マン・クラントンはこの2ヶ月前に既に物故）を

はじめとするカウボーイズ（英語版）がアリゾナ州コチセ郡トゥームストーンの町で撃ち合い銃撃戦となりました。

これは正式な意味での決闘ではなく、表面的には市保安官が銃不法所持者を武装解除しようとした際に発生した銃撃戦といえます。

そして実際にはアープ組とカウボーイズ組とのさまざまな確執の結果であるというのが今日の見方です。

「ローハイド」（Rawhide）は、1959年から1965年にかけて米CBSで制作・放送されたドラマです。

日本では、同時期の1959年から1965年まで、NET（現テレビ朝日）系で放送されました。

その後、数度再放送が行われ、2006年にNHK-BS2、2017年にはイマジカBSでも放送されてます。

南北戦争後の1870年代のアメリカ西部を舞台に、テキサス州のサンアントニオからミズーリ州のセデリア（セダリア）まで約3000頭の牛を運ぶカウボーイ達の

長い道中ロングドライブで起こる様々な出来事や事件を描いたものでした。

主演は隊長ギル・フェイバー （エリック・フレミング）、副隊長（劇中では「補佐役」と表現されていた）のロディ・イェーツ（クリント・イーストウッド） で、

これに斥候ピート・ノーラン（シェブ・ウーリー） 、料理人ウィッシュボン（ポール・ブラインガー）らが絡む一話完結の番組だったと記憶してます。

片道切符というのは、よく「行きだけのきっぷで、帰りのきっぷがない。つまり、行ったきり帰ってこれない」という意味あいで使われます。

でも、正確に言いますと、”出発する駅から、最終目的地の駅まで、2回同じ駅を通らないきっぷ”という意味です。

さて、この曲「恋の片道切符」は、ニール・セダカが1959年に発表した楽曲でした。

アメリカでは『おお!キャロル』のB面としての発売され、ヒットはしませんでしたが、日本ではA面とB面を入れ替えて発売。

そのせいでしょうか大ヒット、日本でのセダカ人気を決定づけた曲と言われています。

ワシントン広場の夜はふけて（ Washington Square）

ヴィレッジ・ストンパーズ

この曲「ワシントン広場の夜はふけて」（Washington Square）は、アメリカのディキシーランド・ジャズのバンド、ヴィレッジ・ストンパーズが1963年に

リリースしたインストゥルメンタルです。

曲名の「ワシントン広場」とは、ニューヨーク市グリニッジ・ヴィレッジにあるワシントン・スクエア公園のこと。

ちなみにこの曲は、当初歌の無いインストゥルメンタルでしたが、作曲者のボブ・ゴールドステイン（Bobb Goldsteinn）とデヴィッド・シャイア

（David Lee Shire）によって歌詞がつけられました。

日本では、「可愛いベイビー」「ルイジアナ・ママ」などの訳詞で知られる漣 健児（さざなみ けんじ/1931-2005）が作詞した日本語版の歌詞が存在し、

ダーク・ダックスやデューク・エイセスらが歌謡曲としてカバーしています。

狸達とお寺の住職が一緒になって唄い踊っていたあの夜。

どの狸よりも張り切ってお腹を叩く、リーダーの大狸がいました。

両者が時間を忘れて競うように踊った愉快な夜は三日続きます。

四日目の晩、住職がいつもの場所でいくら待っても狸達は現れません。

翌朝、不思議に思った住職が本堂の周りを調べてみると、そこにはリーダーの大狸が倒れていました。

お腹を叩きすぎたせいか、皮が破れて死んでしまったのです

これは証城寺の狸囃子の伝説ですが、政界ドラマに仕立てれば、住職、大狸、狸たち、その配役は、

ということになるのでしょうが、いずれにしても、彼ら・彼女らは踊らされてるだけ、躍らせている古狸がいること早く気がつかないと。（笑）

第二次安倍政権が発足した際、イギリスの有力誌「エコノミスト」が自誌の表紙で安倍総理大臣を映画などで知られるスーパーマンになぞらえたイラストを

掲載しました。

そして、そこには「鳥か？飛行機か？いや、日本だ！」という見出しがつけられていたのです。

また、巻頭の記事では、大胆な金融緩和などを受けた東京市場の急激な株高や政権の支持率の高さなどを紹介したうえで、「日本を２０年に及ぶ不況から 

脱却させるのは大変な課題だが計画の半分でも実現できれば、偉大な総理大臣だとみなされるだろう」と論評していました。

さらに、経済規模で日本を上回った中国の存在感の高まりが安倍政権に切迫感をもたらしているとして、「いわゆるアベノミクスは経済政策のように聞こえるが、 

実際は、安全保障政策の意味も同じくらい持っている」とも分析していました。

そのうえで、今後の課題は中期的な財政健全化の実現や、農業などの改革を抵抗に屈せず進められるかどうかだが、懸念は外交面で強硬路線を取り過ぎることだ、 

などとも指摘していました。

さすが「エコノミスト」、安倍さんへの賛辞なのか期待なのかはともかく、日本に対する海外からの関心の高まりを改めて伺わせると共に、併せて不安材料も

指摘していたと思います。

掲載された頃はまぁまでしたが、しばらくしてからは不安材料のみが浮き彫りになりました。

もっとも、マスター的には当初、安倍さんはあの鳩山さんと似たりよったりの政治家だとと思っていましたが。

タカ派かリベラルの差こそあれ、基本的には坊ちゃんタイプ。

政治家として必要な力強さがなく、綺麗事は言っても泥を被る覚悟がない・・・・・政治家としての資質・能力はほぼ一緒と思っていたからです。

ところがどっこい、同盟国のアメリカ大統領がオバマからトランプに代わった途端、突然の大変貌。

その赤シャツを黄色いシャツに着替えただけなのが岸田さん、涙なしのくちづけだったのかも。（笑）

２０２４年、大谷の活躍など、明るい話題もありましたが、全体的には暗い年だったように思います。

元日には石川県能登地方を震源とする地震が午後に発生、同県輪島市と志賀町で震度７を観測。石川、富山、新潟、山形各県など広い範囲に津波が到達、

死者は４００人を超えました。

衆院選で、圧倒的に勝利した国民民主党も代表の不倫騒動で、代表の３か月謹慎事態。

また、同じく衆院選で過半数（公明党を含む）をとれなかった自民党。

悲しき（日本）政界。

どこまで落ちたら止まるのでしょう。(笑）
