TO MAKE YOURSELF AVAILABLE

　これは英米ともによく使われる表現。「（いつでも）応じられるようにする」という意味で、be ready (at all times) to be of serviceに相当する。状況によっては、「時間をあけておく」や「連絡がつくように待機する」に近い意味になる。

　"The man from the head office will be here for five days, so make yourself available during that period."

　"Yes, sir."

　「本社の人が5日間来るから、そのあいだ君に対応をお願いしたい」

　「了解しました」

●Extra Point 　

　実際に「・・・・・・分ほど時間を空けてほしい」という形で用いられることもある。

◎Extra Example

　"Can you make yourself available for the next thirty minutes or so?"

　"No, I am very busy right now. But I will be free at around four in the afternoon."

　「30分ほど、時間をもらえないだろうか？」

　「いや、今とても忙しいんだ。でも、午後4時ぐらいには空くよ」
