能力や価値、真価が発揮されたり認められたりする状況で使われる。個人の成長や成功、あるものやある技術が特定の条件で力を発揮する様子を表現する際によく使われる。

organicの訳し方については、2022/9/13のGetUpEnglishで紹介した。
英日翻訳していてわかるが、organicは「有機体の」であり、「生物の」であるから、「生命を感じさせる」➡「生き生きとした」と解釈することが可能だし、そのように訳してもよいと思う。
なかなかいいことが書いてあるが、これを書いたことをすっかり忘れてしまっていた。
いかにも『新英和大辞典』にも『リーダーズ』にも、「有機体の、生物の」という定義があるので、「生物の」から「生」を活かして「生き生き」としたとすればよいだろう。
漢字を効果的に使うことで生き生きとした訳ができるという好例だ。
