We use reported speech to tell others about people said.We use "tell" or "say" in the past tense.

今回は、何だか途中から、後半部分を自分のイメージで答えなさいって言われて、そっちを考えなきゃ・・・！なので、メモってる余裕がありませんでした。今までは、用意された選択肢を使って当てはめたり、文章を言い換えたりだけだったのですが、とうとう考える事が出てきてしまった・・。
結構時間いっぱいいっぱいなので、あまり、Let me see.... Let me think.....って言ってる場合ではないので、ヤバイかも～。
