F21(Esther)

最近また新しい講師をよく見かける。Estherだった。先週１回当たってるので、今日彼女とやるのは二回目。　Main Language　の練習はするけれど、それは後回しで、前回も、今回も、こんなシュチュエーションの時どういう？？と、Main　Languageを隠した状態で、自分自身で考えて答えるように促される。その後での、Main　Languageの確認作業。

こういうやり方もいいなと思った。出来た時は、かなり嬉しい　


I hope you don't mind , but I helped myself to some cake.　

最初この文が分かったような、分からないような感じだった。勝手に、なにかイディオム？！と深読みしてたもんだから、それが分からなくしてたのです。

何かをお願いするっていう言い方を、許可するってやり取りだったもので、事後報告とは思わなかったんですね。ケーキ食べちゃった　えへへ・・　だとは思わなかったです

ヘンな先入観を持つのはよくないですねえ・・・

講師が、だから、ケーキ食べちゃったんだってば・・・って　言ってるのに「？？？？」とかなってしまった。　恐るべし！思い込み！！

今日は、小芝居付きで　やり取りの練習をしました。　

いきなり「○○貸して！」というより、理由とか、何かあったほうがいいよね、と。で、たらたら「財布を忘れてきて・・・電話代を今日中に払わなくちゃいけなくて・・・」と何か言ってたら、そうじゃなくって・・・ちょっとした頼みことする時なんて、そんなに理由を色々言うよりも、例えば、何かメモしたいときに、ちょっと自分のペンが見当たらなくって・・・と、「あれ？ペンどこいった？？（ヒトリゴトのよう）　あっ、ねえペン貸してくれない？」ってこんな感じ。

うーん、確かに。れもンに出された課題が、「千円貸して」だったのに、電話代が・・は確かにちょっとヘン。で・・そうだ・・！！ここでアレ試しに使ってみますか！！

 I fogot my  wallet !! What shold I...(ヒトリゴト？）　ちらっと講師の方を見て、Oh!! Am I glad to see you !! Can I borrow 1,000 yen??

Am I glad to see you ! これを言った時、講師が「おおっ！」って表情をしたので、ちょっとしてやったり！と気分良し　

れもンの小芝居に命が吹き込まれた瞬間？！でした。（大げさ・・・）

【感　　　想】　相変わらずのDahl節・・。両親を亡くしたJamesが、意地悪なおばさん家に引き取られて・・・半端じゃないイジワルっぷり。酷い言葉を浴びせるおばさん達。でも、他のお話と違って、これは、意地悪なおばさんへの復讐劇ではなく、ひょんなことから手に入れた魔法の水晶・・これでハッピーな人生が約束された・・はずが、桃の木の下でばら撒いてしまう。それが原因（？）で、枯れてたはずの桃の木に実がなって、ありえない大きさにグングン育っていく。桃の実の中に入って行って　そこで　これまたありえないサイズの虫たちと出会って、なんだかその桃に乗って（？）大冒険が始まってしまうって話。

途中、この話にも　有名なチョコレート工場が出てきます。さらっと流す程度だけれど、読んでて「あっ！」ってすごい発見をしたような気分になりました

分からない単語も沢山あったけれど、読み飛ばしても何ら支障なく　読みやすかったと思います。

「ハートで感じる英文法」に載ってた表現が、ちらっと出てたので、これまた何か発見したような気分で嬉しかったです

far too は特に取り上げては無かったのですが、ノバで講師に確認したばっかりのところだったし、これでもか！ってくらい重たいって感じですよね？

to use は、足りない・・を足すってヤツですよね？　小さな男の子にとって重すぎる　より、小さな男の子が使うには重すぎるって方がしっくりきます

～ing　が、どんどん涙がにじみ出てきて、ポロポロ頬をつたってる感じが凄くでてるなーなんて思いながら読みました　

本を読んでると、色々発見があって面白いです。

今回は、叔母さん＝aunt だけど、○○おばちゃんっていうのは、Auntie Sponge(←これはおばさんの名前）って言うんだ・・とか、「へえ・・」って思いました。でも調べてみたら、小児語らしーので、私はもう使える歳じゃあないですけどね

今日は、ラッキーマンツーでした。いつもの如く鞄には、ハートで感じる英文法が忍ばせてありましたので、講師が「何かやりたい事ある？？」って聞いてきたので、もちろん取り出しましたよ

そんなわけで、本日のレッスンは「ハートで感じる英文法」のLesson　４　、倒置をやりました。

Wow- was that the most amazing concert, or what !

この前アンドリューに聞いたけど、どうもスッキリしなかったので、もう一回聞いていました。or whatは、tag questionだって言ってました。そう言われると何だかスッキリ

この文章を普通の文にしてしまうと、
That was the most amazing concert, wasn't it? ってな具合になる模様。ほうほう。

で、or what には　もう一つ使い方があって、それは、ちょっちイラっとしたときとかに使えるそうです。

例えば・・・
Are we going or what?!
Are we doing something or what?!

やるのやらないのどっち？！行くの行かないのどっち？！　買うの買わないのどっち？！　とか、ま、イラっとしたら、是非・・・

さてさて。

他に練習してみましょうということに。イラっとの方でなく・・

Did Miki do the most amazing triple axel last night or what !!
昨日のトリプルアクセルすごかったよね！！
Did Jason drink a lot of beer last night or waht !
昨日の飲みっぷりときたら凄かったよね！！

みたいな感じですかね。テレビでも映画でも、実生活でも何か　「あれ凄かったよね！」があったら、即効使わなきゃですね！　「ねえ、みた？みた？？」みたいな、ね。

今度は Never, Rarely , Under no circumstances を使って・・・　（p.64）

Never have I been so tired in my life !
こんなに疲れた事ってないよ！！
Never have I eaten such a delicious food !
こんなおいしいもの食べた事ない！！

こんなツマんない映画初めて！！

ありえな～い！！って思ったら、即使わねば・・

「よく○○するの？？」って聞かれて、「いやいや、めったに○○なんてしないですよ！！」みたいな感じでしょうかね？

どんなことがあっても、あのワインは飲まないでよね。

するなと言われるとしたくなっちゃいますが・・苦笑。

全部同じ意味です。Not only but also で覚えてたもんだから、あれ？too でもいいんだ・・・と聞いてみたら、ちなみに、as wellでもいいんだよ　と教わりました。

今度の休みに何か予定あるの？って聞かれたら、

F38 It still amazes me! （Matthew)

面白い体験なにかある？との質問。うーん・・急にそんなこと言われても・・。しばらく考えたけれど、たいした事ない話をしてしまった・・（考えてる時間が勿体無かったので）

I still can't believe what happend. When I saw the burning building I just had to...と誰かが話し出したら、全部をおとなしーく聞いて話し終わるのを待つよりも、Um, hang on. Where were you exactry?　と、続きを引き出したり、もっと聞きたい！って思ったことを質問する。

まず最初に、聞き取りから。講師がインタビュー内容を喋る。質問は２つ。アナウンサーは、なんて言って話を止めたかってのと、イルカが何をしたかってもの。

ざっとMain Language に目を通して、その後、さっき聞いたイルカの話をれもンがして（覚えてる範囲で・・・）　講師が話をうまく聞きだすように、れもンの喋ってるのを時々止めて、質問をするというやりとり。

その後、別の記事の見出しだけ読んで、本文に何が書かれてると思う？と質問される。勇敢な男の人が７人とネコ一匹の命を消防士が来る前に救った話・・・って言ったらば、じゃあもっと詳しく知りたかったら、何を質問する？何がしりたい？と講師。

How did he save them?
How long did it take?
How did the fire start?
Who is the hero? (最初　How old is the hero?って言ったら、その前に、彼が誰かじゃない？？と・・ごもっとも。）
What happend after?

話をする時は、相手の興味をそそるように、重要なポイントは強調するといいよ。と、Tune In !に進む。

どこを強調したらいいと思う？
I've never been so scared in my entire life.
I've never been so relieved in my entire life.と　普通に読まれる。

I've NEVER been so SCARED in my ENTIRE life.
I've NEVER been so RELIEVED in my ENTIRE life.

しばし見つめて・・一個じゃあないよなあ・・・と、三つずつ行ってみたらOKでした。その後、そこを強調して言う練習をしばし。

で、最後にまた、想像でもいいから、何かDramatic experienceな話を１分あげるから考えて！とか言われ・・

その昔、表参道でみたヘンな人の話をしました。

要所要所で、Hold on a minute, You mean....とか、Just a sec. When you saw him, are you alone?? とか、聞かれました。ほうほう・・・逆もやりたかったのですが、時間切れ。ま、でもこれは、グループだった時なら、いつでも使えそう

質問は？？といわれたので、そういえば・・・・と　↓↓↓

P.64を見せて、Tune in !に書いてあるこのセンテンスにも、この言い方使える？？と聞いてみました。

Lesson 4　倒置のところです。

Never have I been so humiliated in my life. がハート文法の例文。

I've never been so scared in my entire life.
　Never have I been so scared in my entire life.

I've never been so relieved in my entire life.
　Never have I been so relieved in my entire life.

使えるよ！そっちの方がナチュラルだよ！という返事でした。

おお～　ますますハートで感じる英文法の虜ですな。

レッスンで使ってみました。

今日は、２レッスン　グループで取りました。２レッスンともラッキーマンツーでした
ハートで感じる英文法のテキストで分からないところがあったので（テキストの説明が・・ではなく、別のところで「あれ？」と思った箇所）、チャンスあらば、聞こうとカバンに忍ばせてあったんですね　で、そのチャンスが今日だったわけです。

まず、１レッスン目。

ハートの・・でいう、「Lesson 2 if -プレッシャーをかける-」の２６ページです。
if　・・に対しての質問ではないのですが、どーも気になってしまったのが
That's far too expensive.

それは高すぎるよ。って訳です。意味は分かります、多分too expensive よりも高いんだろうなあ・・・って予測も。でも、あくまで予測。れもンの解釈であってる？？という些細な疑問。

講師に聞いてみたら、予測的中　言ってる人は、めちゃめちゃ高すぎる！ぼったくりじゃないの？！くらいの勢いで、高いと思っているみたいです。

ほっ。一つ解決。

その後普通にレッスンを受けました。で、今日やったトコロは、F08。
写真や絵を見て説明をするというもの。写真や絵に何が描かれているかを説明する事は、日常生活では、マズ無いけれど、目的は、自信のない不確かなものを説明出来るようにする事。○○みたいなものが、どの辺りに・・・。それなら、たまーにあるかも？？

で、宿題です。というか普段から練習しておいて！と。　
自分の過去の写真でも、何か本に載ってるイラストでも何でもいいので、それを使って、certainty, uncertainty　を設定して、色々説明してみる練習です。

デジカメも買ったことだし、無意味にその辺の写真をとって、それについて　あれこれ行って見るのもいいかも？と思いました。

で、２レッスン目。

レッスンとレッスンの合間の時間に、ハートで感じる・・をパラパラみていたら、またも関係ないところで「ん？？」を発見。

「Lesson 3　の知覚構文」です。
前にレッスンで、I saw...だとか、I heard..だとか、過去形できたら、後ろも過去形にするって聞いた記憶がよみがえり・・、なんで原型だったり、現在分詞なんだろう・・とか気になりだし・・。

I saw Mariy cross the street.
I heard Mary singing a song at the party.

...I heard Mary sang a song. ってのとどう違うの？？？もしくはMary was singing a song.とか・・・と聞いてみました。

そしたら、I heard Mary sang a song. は、例えばパーティ開場でメアリーが歌を歌ってたと過程して、この場合は、自分はパーティには出席しておらず、出席していた「誰か別の人（第三者）」から、メアリーが歌ってたことを聞いた。という意味だそう。

一方　I heard Mary singing a song. は、誰かから、その話を聞いたのではなく（No one told you）　私がメアリーが歌っているのを直接、パーティ開場で聞いたという事だそう。

はは～・・言われてみれば・・・

I heard Mary played the piano. 　メアリーがピアノを弾いたってことを（誰かから）聞いた。
I heard Mary playing the piano. メアリーがピアノを弾いてるのを(直接）聞いた。

と理解してるかを確認された後・・・　しばし特訓。

sing Enka.　を使って僕に話しかけて・・と。Aれもン　B講師
A; I heard you sang an Enka.
B; Who told you that??
A; Ah..I heard from C. and.. I heard you singing an Enka!
B;Where did you hear??
A; At the bar.　and I heard you will take up Enka lessons! (*take up=レッスンを受ける）

play piano.
B；　I heard you played the piano.
A;  Who told you that?? I can't play piano!
B; But, I heard you plaing the piano last Monday!
A; Where did you hear??
B； At school.（・・なんて言ってたか忘れた・・）
A; Ah.. I was listening a CD...
B; Oh...

とこんな感じ。

I saw you crossing the street.
I saw you cross the street.　の説明も絵を書いてしてくれました。
あまり大きな違いは無いんだけど・・と。大西先生が言う「わしゃわしゃしてる・・躍動してる感じ」っていうあれですねー。crossing って言ったほうが、渡ってるところ（道路の真ん中とかへんを歩いている）って感じがするってやっぱり、ネイティブな講師が言ってました

さっきの文法のを使ってやろう！ってことに。

B; I wonder how he got like that. What do you think happened to Patrick?
A; I heard he had a part-time job. He must have been fired..
B; What makes you think so??

　届きましたー。２２３ページあって、思ってたよりも立派な本でした。２００４年度放送の１００回分を収録したものでした。オーストラリア編とか書いてあったのでてっきり、テレビとは別物？！かと思ってました！苦笑。

内容は　①スキット/　主人公マイクがオーストラリアを訪れるお話。途中日本にも来てるようです。　②コーパスランキング　③発音コーナー/番組の最後にジョージが例文２つを読むものです。

DVDの良いところで・・　スキットだけを連続してみる事が出来る機能がついているので、英語のドラマを見るような感覚で見れるし、英語字幕、日本語字幕、字幕なしが選べるので、何度も見て「耳」を鍛えるには　なかなか役立ちそうです。

スキットで観光地なんかも訪れるので、観光の際の何気ない行動が結構参考になります　コアラやカンガルー、タスマニアデビルなんかも出てきてかわいい　見てると旅行に行きたくなりますねー

またゆっくり見よーっと。

 

Kenの話、添削してもらったもの。

Suddenly, Ken felt a breath of air. The air brought the sweet smell of flowers.
"I know the feel of wind.."
He stopped dead, jerked his head around to check if the fairy was there. And then he saw something move that was glimmering above the bushes in front of a cave.
"Wha..What??" Ron shouted."Have you found the fairy?"
"Probably. It must be the fairy. It was the same wind that brought the sweet smell when I met the fairy! " Ken had no sooner said it when he started running to the bushes.

The fairy was fluttering her light pink wings. She noticed when they came closer and said hello. "Thanks for finding me, Ken. I've believed you since you promised me about the cherry tree. " " Ah..hello. well...I would like to keep my promise, but..ah.. I don't know what should I do." Ken said. " Yeah, I know that you don't know anything. I'll tell you what you have to do. I was waiting until you grew up to be a 15 year old boy." the fairy continued. " I was looking for a boy who has the power to protect the cherry tree from enemies when we met the first time, because the cherry tree already had been getting weaker and weaker."
Ken listened to her words carefully.
"You have a great power to save us. " " A great power? What is it? " Ken asked. " You have a lot of will power, and are also tender-hearted." the fairy answered. " I dare say.. I don't have a strong will..." Ken said weakly. " You have! " the fairy said in a powerful voice. "We don't have enough time, Ken. because it's making more rapid progress than I expected. You have to beat a witch. " "Beat what??" ken gasped. The fairy ignored Ken's shout and continued to talk. " The cherry tree linked with your world deeply. The witch has made bad use of it, and she will get rid of any obstacle, which is the cherry tree for her desire . Did she use the black art on people ! and has pulled the strings. Have you heard about the project to build lots of high-rises at the park? " the fairy asked. "Yes..I've heard ! I felt that something was strange about the project, because none of the people were against it! You mean the witch charmed the people?" Ken clenched his fist with anger.

The fairy flicked her wand, then a key appeared in the air. Ken picked it quickly. The Key had  three pink sapphires on the grip, and was much heavier than he expected. "Listen. You will be able to use the key only once. You have to open the door that you think is the correct door. You will able to get an arm to help yourself.." "What?" Ken was surprised and lifted his face but the fairy already had gone.

"Have you gotten some information from the fairy ? " Ron asked.
"Ah..,yes. She gave me a key to get an arm. She said I had to beat a witch..but, I don't know where the door where we'll get the arm is."
Suddenly Ron shouted, "The door! She said we have to get the aim and it was inside the door, right? Hurry up Ken! Can you see that fall ? " Ron pointed to the right side behind the cave." "Where??" Ken asked. " Over there!  I guess the door  is there. I've heard there are lots of doors behind the fall ! I can teleportation, you know..look at my eyes, Ken! "
Ron's eyes flashed again ,after that they vanished. In a moment, they were in front of the fall.

 

今回は、ちゃんと見直しをしなかったせいもあって、ケアレスミスが結構ありました。　ま、本気で間違ってるのも沢山ありますけどね。　後でプリントアウトして　勉強にも使わなくっちゃ！です。

Kenの話の続き。

予定では、この後ライむの回、れもンの回の２回分で終了です。
共同作業は大変な面もあるけれど、でも、れもン一人では、話が続かなかったかも？！ライむのおかげでひらめく事もあるし・・・。英会話を勉強するのは、一人でも出来るけど、でも、れもンはやっぱり一緒に頑張れる、刺激しあえるパートナーは必要だな～と、ヒシヒシと思いました。　丁寧に文法面を直してくれるペンパルにも恵まれて、幸せ者です。

あっかんべ～あざらし

    二見のシーパラダイスに行ってきました。で、あっかんべーアザラシ↑でございます。 当日予約制 で、彼との記念撮影もできます。(有料５００円）。
ま、撮影のたびに「あっかんべ～」させるのは大変ですからねー。       アザラシです。のけぞっています。    
こちらは、普段の水槽の中のセイウチくん。↑   こちらは、芸をしに外に出てきたセイウチくん。↓ 投げキッス中です。       あっかんべ～アザラシくん以外は無料で記念写真がとれます。
ただし、ご褒美用のエサが無くなり次第、撮影は終了です。       なんだか手を繋いでるみたいなペンギンたちです。この子たちも芸をしに外に・・・と思いきや。
芸は出来ないので愛想を振りまきに散歩に出されただけでした。この写真は水槽内です。         夫婦岩でございます。水族館の近くです。     実家でハリーを読もうと張り切って持って言ったけれど、姪と甥の遊び相手やら、
それに関係なく自分が遊びほうけていたので、新幹線の中で読んだ３ページだけ
っていう結果でした・・！英語の勉強がんばらなくては・・・！今年こそ上達を・・！   あ、ちなみに・・・
