An expert panel of the Japan Sports Agency has pointed out the sports club activities of public junior high schools on holidays. This conference addresses the issue of long working hours for teachers. Practices on Saturdays and Sundays are causing teachers to work long hours. There was a sense of crisis among experts that if this situation continued, the burden on teachers would become excessive and the original purpose of education would not be achieved. As a solution, they are envisioning a comprehensive regional sports club for the regional migration of athletic clubs. Its integrated regional sports clubs are modeled after European clubs.
In the European-style club organization, there is no school division, so the team and league to which the child belongs is determined by the child's competitive level. In a European-style club, you will be coached by qualified coaches. These coaches provide quality instruction while having fun. The main theme of their work is to motivate club members. European-style clubs can play matches between similar levels. If we are at the same level, we look forward to the games almost every week, and we put more effort into our practice. However, what is different from practice in Japan is that at most they practice 2-3 times a week for about 2 hours each. This amount of practice is a good stimulus for learning activities and physical growth.
In exercise, it is important to acquire skills. However, elementary and junior high school students can enjoy participating in exercise and sports without constantly acquiring advanced skills. Depending on the situation, even a little experience is often enough. When I look at club activities in Japan, I sometimes see the attitude of coaches and managers trying to force themselves into a mold. Children who want to be free often find themselves in situations of being burdened. It seems that it is better to give children little by little what they want to give. Even if they have a shallow understanding of something, as they become more experienced with exercise, children may come up with a different perspective or a more rational way of doing things. If coaches let them know 100%, they may not be interested in exercise anymore. If children know too much or too little, they will not be motivated. It seems to be good to have about 60% of the motivation for exercise understood. It seems that it is important for children, parents, and coaches to always have room to motivate themselves to exercise.
