ビヨンセ残念！！
まあ、仕方が無いですね。アデルが強過ぎました。事前の予想でもアデル優位の印象ではありましたが、主要３部門のうちアルバム部門だけはビヨンセが獲れるんじゃないかと思っていたのですが、全部アデルに持ってかれちゃいましたね。オープニング・パフォーマンスの「Hello」、ジョージ・マイケル・トリビュートの「Fastlove」、２曲のパフォーマンスも素晴らしかったですしね。特に「Fastlove」は歌っている途中で一旦止めて、もう一度最初からやり直したんですよ。グラミー賞でのこの失態はもちろん不名誉なことなんですけど、それが良かったんですよ。一層、アデルの歌と気持ちが心に滲みましたからね。あの歌を聴き終えた瞬間に、この人は凄いシンガーだなと思いましたし、同時に今年はアデルの年だな、とも思ったんです。『Record Of The Year』と『Album Of The Year』の受賞スピーチでのビヨンセを賞賛する言葉も印象的でしたしね。そしてそれを聴きながら涙ぐむビヨンセの表情も。
結局、９つでノミネートされていたビヨンセは２部門の受賞に止まり、５つでノミネートされていたアデルはその５部門全てを受賞。明暗を分けたと言えるかもしれませんが、そのドラマも含め、二人のディーヴァの存在感が圧倒的だった今日のグラミー授賞式でした。
さて、授賞式のお楽しみと言えば、賞レース以上にパフォーマンスなのです。アデル以外で印象的だったのは、まずはやはりビヨンセ。エジプトの女王のような衣装で、映像を交えた神秘的なパフォーマンス。曲は「Love Drought」〜「Sandcastles」。大きくなったお腹を抱えながらの神々しい美しさに瞬きするのを忘れる程でした。「Lemonade」のなかでも私が一番好きな「Sandcastles」を歌ってくれたのは嬉しかったですね！ 歌唱自体はあまり力まず、滑らかな印象でした。歌い終わった後の投げキッスも良かった。
アリシア・キーズとマレン・モリスのコラボ。マレン・モレスは新人賞にもノミネートされていた女性カントリー・シンガーですが、とてもソウルフルな歌声の持ち主で、アリシアとのデュエットもエモーショナルでとても良かったですね。曲はマレン・モリスの「Once」。これはカントリーと言うより、完全にソウルでしたね。
あとは、ダップ・キング・ホーンズを従えたスタージル・シンプソンとか、ダフトパンクとザ・ウィークエンドの共演も良かった。それと今年は司会者のジェームズ・コーデンも面白かったですね。特にハリボテの車を持ってニール・ダイアモンド他色んなシンガーを巻き込んでの「Sweet Caroline」。最後は会場全体で大合唱のようになりめちゃくちゃハッピーで楽しい雰囲気でした。
他にも、プリンスやビージーズのトリビュートとか、ウィリアム・ベルとゲイリー・クラーク・ジュニアのコラボとか、エド・シーラン、ブルーノ・マーズ、そしてメタリカ＆レディ・ガガなど、今年も観どころ満載のグラミー授賞式でした。
