As cresol red serving as pH-indicator has the pH-color-changing ranges at two positions, liquid-leak is judged through the color change from yellow to red in the higher pH-color-changing range (pH 7.2-8.8).
ｐＨ指示薬として機能するクレゾールレッドは、２つの位置にｐＨ変色域を有しているので、高い方のｐＨ変色域（ｐＨ７．２～８．８）において黄色から赤色に変色することを通じて液体漏出が判断される。
