なぜ 版画？ その８ Why Hanga? 8

今回から　見る側にとっての版画を
ちょっと考えてみたいと思います。
From this time, I’ll look at Hanga from an audience viewpoint.

まずよく新聞等で見かける広告に
著名な日本画家の絵を　忠実に再現した
木版画やリトグラフ（石版画）の頒布会があります。

あるいは欧米の有名な絵の時もあります。

本物はとても高いので　版画技法を使って
複製を作り　比較的安く売るんですね。

大抵の場合
「数十色・数十版も使用し　精緻な仕上がりです」と
単なる印刷物との違いをアピールしています。

First, you may sometimes see advertisements in the newspaper that intend to sell
some sort of woodblock prints or Lithographs.

Those are authentic reproductions of well-known Japanese painters’ works.
Sometimes, it is stuff out of Western famous paintings.
Since the originals are so expensive, making reproductions using technique of Hanga,
the distributors sell comparatively inexpensive alternatives.
They probably make the point that these are works of fine finish used score of colors and plates, so different from the mere printed matters.
