版画の話がつづきましたので　ここで一息

ウニ丼 Sea urchin Bowl

北海道からウニ丼の写真が届きました。
NORIKO先生が本場積丹の食堂で食べた
ウニ丼だそうです。
天下一品だそうです。うまそーーーーーー！

I got this photo from DENTIST NORIKO
in Hokkaido, who enjoyed it in Shakotan
Peninsula, the home of sea urchin.
She said the taste was second to none.
Oh........Looks mouth-watering !

穴子丼 Conger eel Tempura Bowl

以前掲載したことのある　高島平の
更科そば屋さんの穴子丼定食￥950です。
ボリュームがあります。
江戸風の色の濃い　どっしりした天ぷらです。
しばらく節食しなければ..........

This is a set menu ($8) of the soba shop
in Takashimadaira, I've introduced before.
Featured Tempura is Edo-Style, very deep fried.
It was a heavy lunch, I must go on diet.

缶詰丼 Canned Fish Bowl

最近のマイブーム
さんまの蒲焼き缶詰と温泉たまご
Cheap & Simple
ウニ丼と比べかなりショボイですが........
でも　うまいんですよ。

今回はやはりウニ丼の勝利ですね。

This is the new trend of my meal.
Canned Grilled Saury and soft-boiled egg.
Cheap, simple and humble compared with
Sea urchin Don...... but I love it.
This time, the gold medal apparently
goes to Sea urchin.

版画の話 （10）Hanga (10)

このブログの第１回に登場した
「神話の始まりー渾沌ー」の制作資料図です
この図を元に追加の刷りを行います。
This is the data of "Beginning of Myth" posted first
on this blog. I print additionl orders based on this.

AP・EA以外に　
P.P (Printer's Proof) 作家の指示のもと
版画工房で刷った場合の工房保存用　
この場合も限定の10~20%が慣習として
認められているようです。
H.C (Hors Commerce) 非売品
などが　稀ですが記入されていることがあります。

限定数はほとんど作家が決めます。
売れそうにない　売るつもりがない　あるいは
版の関係でたくさん刷れないという場合は
限定は少なく（１０部以下とか）
逆の場合は沢山の限定数を決めます。
一度に限定数を刷ることは稀で　後で追加が
必要な時に刷り増しをします。

Besides, A.P , E.A,
when an artist doesn't print in person,
the prints, 10~20% of which are allocated to
the printers, are called printer's proof,
indicated by the letters P.P
There is also H.C (Hors Commerce),
which means " not for sale".
It's quite rare.

Mostly, artists fix the size of an edition themselves.
When an artist doubts that this will sell well,
or he or she doesn't intent to sell it.
or it's impossible to print a lot for any reason,
the edition can be less than ten.
Otherwise, makes it large number.
Usually, an artist doesn't print the entire edition.
Part of the edition may be printed initially,
and the others, as orders are taken.

AP マーク

数字の代わりに AP と記入されたものもあります。
これは Artist Proof 作家保存用ともいうような
意味です。
EA という場合もあります。これはフランス語
epreuve d'artiste の頭文字で　
AP と同じ意味です。
多くの場合　限定数の10~20%程刷るのが
慣習となっています。
予想以上に売れて　限定部数を売りつくして
限定数より多いAP入りの作品を市場に
出す作家もいるようですが.........
やはり限定番号入りの方が市場価値としても
高いようです。

Sometimes you see a mark AP or EA
instead of an edition number.
Artists mostly make another several prints besides
the edition,usually 10~20% of the total, and set aside them
for the artists' own use,which are called artist's proof
or epreuve d' artiste in French.
These can be sold later, when the edition has run out.
Generally, a print with an edition number
seems have more market value.

Edition number 11/70

作品の下の方にタイトルと作家のサインの他に
例えば 1/30 などの数字が入っていることが
多いのですが　これは Edition number
限定部数を表しています。
6/30 ならば 1～30番の限定の内の
6 番という番号を持つ作品ですという事です。
特に6 番目に刷られたという事ではありません。
また　若い番号の方が価値が高いということも
ありません。

When you see a print, you notice the number
like 1/30, alongside of the title and
artist's signature.
It means an edition number.
An edition is the total number made of
an original print, each numbered in consecutive
order starting with one.
For example, if an edition of thirty is planned,
the prints will be marked " 1/30" " 2/30" ～ " 6/30"
So, each print will bear such a number.
But, " 6/30" doesn't always mean the 6th print,
and 30/30 has the same value as 1/30.

鳥のように

高い高い木の先端の
細い枝に止まってみたい。

たまに　電線に止まって
ゆらゆら　揺れてみたい。

渡り鳥のように
編隊の１羽になって
故郷へ帰ってみたい。

想いだけが
空を飛んでゆきます。

Like a bird,

I wish I perched on the tip of
a very high tree.

I wish I swayed on wire, once in a while.

As a member of the migrants,
I wish I flew in formation to our homeland.

Just my imagination is taking flight.

Bird Man

人が空を飛ぶために　犠牲を伴う
限りない努力を映した古い映像を
見た事があります。
その初期の鳥男たちの実験飛行は
滑稽で　哀愁さえ感じますが
その底抜けのロマンと情熱が
私は大好きです。
多分私も鳥男なのでしょう。

I've seen an old motion picture in which
the people tried to fly with their utmost
and even at the sacrifice of their lives.
Bird Men's test flights in the early days
make me feel funny, even a touch of pathos.
But I love their unlimited romanticism
and enthusiasm.
Potentially, I could be a Bird Man.

版画家のお友達 歯科医編（４）Special Column

今日も引き続き　NORIKO先生のお話です。
ちょっと目線を変えたお話が届きました。

（突然ですが　浜田先生お元気ですか）

NORIKO先生の時間外診療（１）
先日6日に隣の小学校の入学式がありました。
子供と接していて、一人っ子が多い感じはありましたが、
二人、三人兄弟も結構いるので、
せめて100名はいるだろうと思っていました。
予想は大外れで、今年の新入生は79名、
3クラスだそうです。
これでも、近隣の学校より、多いとの事で、
出生率「0.9」を実感させられました。
付き添いにはお母さんのみならず、お父さんは勿論、
おじいさん、おばあさんが一緒の家庭も多く、
これも少子化の影響でしょうか。

大きな色とりどりのランドセルに嬉しそうな、
ちょっと恥ずかしそうな顔が 本当に可愛いこと！！
色々な痛ましい事件が多い昨今、
この笑顔を持ち続けられるよう、願わずにはいられませんでした。

私達の頃のランドセルと言えば、赤と黒しかなかったものですが、
今は25色ほどあるそうで、その他にチェック柄とか、
子供服メーカー製も あって、実にカラフルです。

札幌の卒業式や入学式の頃は　雪融けで　泥だらけで
結構汚い季節なんですよね。桜はまだですし
私はいつも泥を跳ねて歩いていたので　親に
おこられてばかりいました..........

版画家のお友達 歯科医編（３）Special Column

一ヶ月振りになりましたが
DENTIST NORIKO先生に登場していただきます。
今日は先回につづき経済事情のお話です。
画像もNORIKO先生の提供です。

歯科医の経済事情　その３
近くに住むおばあさんの話です。
「私の入れ歯の具合いが悪くなったので、
歯医者さんに行ったんだけれど、最近の若い先生は
何だか保険外の高くて難しい入れ歯しかやってくれず、
保険の入れ歯なので、昔っからやっている
お年寄りの先生じゃないと見てもらえません。」と、
おっしゃっていました。

この話、どう思いますか？
若い先生はお金儲けに走り、
お年寄りの先生はたとえ保険の入れ歯でも
ちゃんと直してくれる良い先生なのでしょうか？
私は二人の先生と面識もありませんが、
「経済」の視点から見ると、
単純には割り切れない面があると思います。
と言いますのは、保険の入れ歯は、作っても、
歯科医の利益は、限りなくゼロ～マイナスです。
開業には多額の投資が必要ですし、
このシリーズの最初にも書きましたが、
歯科医過剰で一軒当たりの患者数が
充分ではない状態で、この若い先生が
おばあさんの希望を叶えなかったと、
一方的に責める事は出来ないと思います。
こう思うのは医療者側の
一方的視点によるものでしょうか？


全国で歯科医院が７万軒　コンビニが４万軒
この数字からだけでも
やはり歯医者さんは大変そうですね。
高くては困る人　
報酬が無ければやってゆけない医者
でも　早急には解決出来そうに無いんでしょうね。
困った........　(私も入れ歯持ちですので..........)

花の季節 Flower Season

花の季節と言っても四季それぞれに
それなりに当てはまりますが
浮き浮きする花の季節は　やはり春です。
この作品を制作した時の状況や心理は
もう忘れてしまいましたが
きっと何か楽しいことがあったように思います。
楽しくて　楽しくて　描くことも嬉しくて
多少筆がすべってたとしても　その気持ちが
伝わってくれればという　想いが創作の
動機だったのでしょう。
創作は動機がすべてです。

Although "Flower Season" may hold
true of any season,
the most cheerful one is spring, I believe.
I don't remember well when I was making it.
But something enjoyable must've
made me happy.
A motive for wanting to express a delightful
feeling and pleasure of creating might've
allowed me to carry away a bit.
It's the motive that counts.

版画展（その３）Hanga Exhibition in Ueno(3)

会場入り口

版画展が始まりました。
都美術館では同時に　オルセー美術館展が
開かれていて　そちらは非常な混雑です。
でも版画展はゆったり見られます.........

作品の他に版種ごとに使用する道具なども
展示されて　版画を理解するのに
役立つと思います。
また　中越地震チャリテイー版画即売会も
行われていて　会員の小品が格安の値段で
手に入れることができるのも魅力です。
毎年チャリテイーを目当てに初日に来て
沢山買われる方もいるほどです。
陽気もいい季節となりましたので
どうぞお出かけ下さい。

At the same time, Musee d'Orsay Exhibition
is held in Metropolitan Museum.
The latter is extremely crowded, however,
you can see the former nice and easy........

Besides prints, sorted tools by each Hanga medium
are displayed,
which will make for understanding Hanga.
On top of that, a charity spot sale for
Chuetsu earthquake is taking place,
You can buy members'small prints
at a great bargain.
Every year, some customers go shopping
for many of them on opening day.
The spring weather is getting better and better,
please visit there.

たまご絵（その２） Pictures on eggshells (2)

私はゆで卵が大好きです。
若い頃相方と二人　ゆで卵をいくつ
食べられるか挑戦したことがあります。
黄身の周りが青くなる程の固ゆでを
３０個用意しました。
相方は６個でダウン　私は１３個食べました。
若い時でなければ出来ないイベントです。
若くてもそんなバカな事はしない人の
方が多いかも知れませんが..........

I love boiled eggs.
When we were newlyweds, we tried eating them
as many as possible.
We prepared 30 of hard-boiled eggs.
She gave up after having six of them.
I ate 13.
It was just a play because of our youth,
but most of the young people may not
give such a silly try.

夜桜 五七 The night view of cheery blossoms 57

我が家のすぐ近くの城山公園で

今年はゆっくり桜を楽しむこともなく
過ぎてしまいました。
でも　私の年で考えるとあと何回
桜を見られるのかと　ふっと
気づいた年でもあります。
しかし　逆に私の創作は正にこれからという
思いも感じています。

難しい年頃です..........

あと二十　ありやなしやの　花見酒

I couldn't leisurely enjoy cherry blossom
viewing this year.
" How many times can I see it afterward,
at my age? " I thought this year.
On the other hand, I feel my creation has
only just begun.
Oh ! What an awkward age !

他の人との共有体験の出来事でも
時間のろ過装置がそれぞれ違うので
いつの間にか　抜け落ちたり
他と随分変化したりしている事があります。
ろ過装置で純化された記憶は　常に自分に
都合よく蓄積されるようで　結構くせ者です。

Even though I share an experience with someone,
each has a different "time-filter"
Therefore, the memory of it has varied with the individual.
As the purified memory through the filter apparently
has been accumulated in favor of oneself,
it is a kind of trouble.

「時間」という　ろ過装置を通って
映像や味覚などの記憶は　加速度的に
純化されてゆくようです。
美しくとも　悲しくとも
純化された記憶が　体中いっぱいになると
人は死ぬのかもしれません。
人は「記憶袋」
私はごくたまにその記憶袋を
覗いて見ることがあります。

Memory of an image or a taste seems to
be purified through " time-filter"
with increasing speed.
When filled up with the purified memories,
which are beautiful or sad,
human might die.
Human is memory-container.
On rare occasions, I take a look inside of
my memory-container.......
