In recent years, each country's awareness of early childhood education has increased. The educational function of early childhood facilities, including nursery schools and kindergartens, is being emphasized worldwide. In line with this trend, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has published a white paper that emphasizes the importance of early childhood education and childcare. The reason why many countries focus on early childhood education is that education during this period lays the foundation for lifelong learning. There is a recognition that building a foundation for learning at an early age will lead to lifelong academic improvement. There is a tendency for early childhood education to become more sophisticated as the accumulation of research and practice on education in each country progresses. There is also a growing recognition that high-quality early childhood education cannot be provided by families alone.
Therefore, I tried to think of a mechanism to extend the abilities of young children. In the world of education, there is something called the Pygmalion effect. A certain authority told a certain teacher, "This child will grow." When this teacher believed his words and watched the child, the child actually grew. In fact, the Pygmalion effect does not mean that teachers' expectations directly improve children's grades. This magical phenomenon was made possible by teachers responding politely to children's learning and activities. Teachers' belief in and expectations of children's growth change the quantity and quality of interactions between teachers and children. If we can train teachers who can respond in this way, the future of the country will open up.
Children grow by doing. A good nursery teacher gives children appropriate tasks in play, drawing, and eating, and draws out their abilities. Choosing words to inspire children is also an important skill for them. The development of children is greatly influenced by the skills of those engaged in early childhood education. Artificial intelligence (AI) continues to make inroads into existing occupational fields. People who were said to be experts until then are being forced into restructuring. Under such circumstances, nursery teachers and educational sites in the lower grades of elementary school have been raised as fields where it is difficult for AI to advance. It can be said that the profession of a nursery teacher who interacts with infants is based on complex skills. From the stage that it would be fine if a nursery school takes care of their children, more and more parents are looking for a nursery school that is good at the development and growth of their children.
