「浦島太郎」に限らず　昔話の多くは
圧倒的な自然を背景にした中で展開されています。

どんなに荒唐無稽であろうと　辻褄がおかしかろうと
現代より遥かに大きくて豊かで　
時には恐ろしくもあった「自然」に囲まれていたからこそ
可能になったように思います。

長きに渡って語り続けられた
「昔話という暗黙の了解・記憶の共有」の中で
ほとんど無頓着に想像・空想を画面に走らせることができる
理屈も筋も内容もいらない　しかしリアルでもある　

私が強く昔話しに惹かれるのも　まさにそこの処です。

私にはうってつけの題材です。
Not only Urashima, most of the old tales unfold against a back ground of overwhelming
nature.
Even though the stories are preposterous or inconsistent they have become possible.
Because in the old days, people were surrounded with far bigger and more bountiful
Nature, which is sometimes terrible.
On an implicit understanding and a shared memory that the stories for generations have,
I can develop imagination and fantasy freely in my picture.
Besides, there are no logic, plot or content, but ”reality” in it.
That’s why I’m fascinated by old tales.
This is an ideal subject for me.


「その２」UP




これは深海に実際生息している
「竜宮の使い」という魚をモチーフにしています。
This is in the motif of the real abyssal fish named “ an errand from the Sea God’s palace”


「その１　邁進」と「その２　夢中」は
今年の　CWAJ現代版画展（１０月１６日より）に採用されました。
限られた壁面のなかで　2点展示というのは嬉しいですね。

CWAJ現代版画展については次回詳しくお話します。
