２０２３年を迎えた。　いつものように東平尾公園の高台に初日の出を見に行った。　今年は、雲の切れ間からはっきりと日の出を確認できた。　今年は、いよいよ定年を迎え、大きな転機となる。　平成４年（１９９２）４月にスタートした構造有機化学研究室は、令和５年（２０２３）３月をもって、３１年の研究活動に幕を降ろすことになる。　これまで当研究室に配属された多くの素晴らしい学生さんのおかげで、ほんとうに楽しく充実した研究生活を送ることができた。　感謝の気持ちで一杯である。　

　　　　　

いろいろな資料等を整理していると、彼らの顔が浮かんでくる。　今のところ、４月以降も、これまで以上に忙しくなりそうである。　少し違う世界も楽しんでみたい。

From Face Book: I went to the nearby park to see the first sunrise of this year. Fortunately, the sun rising through the preaks in the clouds was appreciated. I am going to retire from my present university as of the end of this March. My lab that was established in 1992 is also supposed to close and end the 31 years history of the research on structural organic chemistry. I have spent enjoyable and fulfilling university life thanks to awesome students who have joined the group. I would like to say I’m full of gratitude. The theses and handouts piled up in my office remind me of their faces. At the moment I am most likely busy after this April and want to enjoy a different field.
