春の荒川

ー宗教界からの要請　あるいは従来の美意識と共に
理想像を描くのではなく　現実を多面的に容赦なく捉えて描きだすー
絵画の世界はここで大きく一歩踏み出してゆきます。

ピカソが「アヴィニヨンの娘たち」を発表した当時
思想界も非常に活発な動きを見せていた時代です。

マルクス（1818-1883）は「資本論」を完成させ
フロイト（1856-1939）は心理学的に新しい側面を提示し
多くの哲学者をへてサルトル（1905-1980）へいたる
実存哲学の台頭など　人間や社会を多方面から捉えようと
する努力が開花し始めた時期でもあります。

絵画の世界もそれまで以上に現実と切り結ぶ方向へと拡大してゆきます。

絵画の可能性を広げ　絵画が一部の人のためだけではなく　
多くの人の意識の反映として制作されることを目指し始めたのですが
しかしそれはまた　皮肉にも制作者と鑑賞者の溝をも拡げてゆく事にもなったようです。

The world of pictures took a large step forward

While Picasso showed this work, the world of thought was active as well.
Marx and Engels had already accomplished “ Capital”
Freud came up with his new psychological theory.
Through several philosophers up to Sartre etc, Existentialism had influenced
the way of thinking.
It was the time the efforts to see the human or the world in a broader perspective
started to bear fruit.
In the world of pictures, painters also started to expand their commitment
to the realities.
Expanding possibilities for pictures, they tried to make pictures something to reflect
the will of many people, not just for particular ones.
On the other hand, the gulf between the painters and audience appeared to widen,
sarcastically
