蝕まれるお話も今回が最後です。
This is the last"Undermined"story.

２年振りの雪です。　The first snow in two years here.
北海道はもちろん寒いですが　内地も妙に寒さが身にしみます。
It's very cold in Hokkaido of course,but we feel the cold
here in "Naichi"(Honshu)

版画制作は版種によっては結構危険であるという事が　判ってきましたが
しかし　版画家諸先輩の中には長命を保ちながら
多くの作品を制作しつづけた方も多いのです。

ほんの一部の例ですが（死亡時年齢）

銅版では
浜口陽三（９１歳）・長谷川潔（８９歳）ともにメゾチント
南桂子（９３歳　浜口陽三夫人）エッチング
萩原英雄（９４歳）

木版では
棟方志功（７２歳）・平塚運一（１０２歳）・北岡文雄（８９歳）
葛飾北斎（８９歳）

リトグラフとスクリーン版画では
菅井汲（７７歳）・織田一磨（７４歳）・吉原英雄（７６歳）

例外としては　池田満寿夫（６３歳）・駒井哲郎（５６歳）

海外では　すべて銅版（エングレービング・エッチング）ですが
デューラー（５７歳　世界で最初の職業版画家）
レンブラント（６３歳）・ゴヤ（８２歳）・エゴンシーレ（２８歳）

こうして見ると版種と作家の健康・長命の関係は一概には言えないようですが
しかし制作環境に充分配慮する必要があるのは　言うまでもありません。

I‘ve mentioned printmaking could be harmful depending on the methods.
But some Hanga artists long-lived and kept making many prints.

Overseas,(all Intaglio)
Durer( 57, the world‘s first pro Hanga artist)
Rembrandt(63),Goya(82), Egon Schiele(28)

Apparently, there is no relating artists ’health and life span to their method.
Anyway, we had better take good care of our surroundings.
