その昔薄く延ばした純金箔を、虫歯を取り除き、形を整えた後に
マレット（下記画像参照）で打ち込み圧接する方法がありました。
セメントも使わず、純金で伸びが良く、隙間なく埋められ、
歯との境目も適合良く、かみ合わせも、その人のかみ合わせに
合わせて良い具合に自然調整されるので
理想的材料と評価されたことがありましたが、
操作が煩雑、かつマレットで歯が割れる可能性もあり、
何といっても、患者さんが大変なため使われなくなりました。
私も、学生時代に教科書で歴史的方法として紹介してあるのを
見ただけです。
純金ともなれば結構な金額ですから、
患者さんのハクがついたのかも知れませんね。
Long before, there was a treatment method filling cavities with pure gold leaf.
After removing and adjusting the damaged part of tooth, they pressure- welded the leaf there using a mallet.
Gold is highly expansible; therefore it can fill an opening well, and adjustable to the tooth without cement, which improves the patient’s bite.
It was considered as an ideal ingredient, but it is not used any more.
Because it is difficult to operate and a mallet can break the tooth
especially the patient has to have a hard time.
I knew it as just a historical method in a textbook when I was a student.
It takes such considerable sum of money to use that the patient might gain
a reputation (Haku)
