厳しかったですね　今日は。

because 

なぜなら

I wanted　　　　 to　 at least 　　　finish in the points.

したかったんですよ　少なくとも　ポイント圏でゴールする事をね。

 I 　am happy　 with the race 　　　in terms of what I have learnt 

  　満足してます　レースにはね　　学びという面では（満足してます）

  　but 

 　でも

  　not 　　　　　　 in terms of result,

     満足してません　結果の面ではね。

 so

だから

 it’s mixed feelings. 

複雑な気持ちですね。

I was feeling　 a lot of support　 from the crowd

感じてました　沢山の応援を　　　観衆からのね

, every lap　　 it felt 　　　　　　　more

 　毎周　　　それは感じました　より多くね

 and

だから

 I wanted to give something more back　 to them. 

それ以上の何かを返したかったんです　観衆のみんなにね。

解ってます　最大限の事をやったって事をね　僕がこのレースで出来る事のね

そして

these 53 laps 　gave 　me so much to learn 　　　　about the car.

この53周によって　　僕は沢山の事を学びました　このマシンに付いてのね。

 I now know 　　　　what kind of things I need to work on.

I was stuck　　　　　　 behind cars　　　　　 all day in traffic

詰まっちゃったんです　(ライバルの）後ろで　ずっと渋滞にね。

it’s hard 　　to know the full race pace 　　　　　of this car 

難しいですね　真のレースペースを知る事はね　このマシンの。

but,

 every lap of the 53,

53周の全てのラップで

 I was building up 　　　 my confidence          in the car.

作り上げていきました　自分の自信をです　このマシンのね。

 That confidence level　 is　 now completely  different

自信のレベルは　　　　　　今は　完全に　　違ってます

                              　　         from the beginning of the weekend　 to now,

　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　今週末の始めと　　　今ではね。

 I feel positive 　　　　　　　about that, 

ポジティブに感じてます　それに関してはね

I am still disappointed 

　　まだガッカリしてるんです

because

だって

 it 　　　　is 　a home Grand Prix　 and　 it’s only once a year.

このレースは　母国GPだし、　　　それに　日本GPは年に1回だけだからね。

 I need to reset 　　　　　　　　before Bahrain 

リセットする必要がありますね　バーレーンの前にね

and

そして

 I am sure　　　 compared to what I was feeling,

確信してます　　僕が感じてた事と比較すると

　　　　　　　　 in terms of car  and  in terms of confidence 

　　　　　　　　　マシンの面でも　　　 自信の面でも　

　　　　　　　　　　　　　it will naturally be better 　　　　there. 

　　　　　　　　　　　　　自然と良くなるだろう事をね　バーレーンでは。

“It’s tough today because I wanted to at least finish in the points. I am happy with the race in terms of what I have learnt but not in terms of result, so it’s mixed feelings. I was feeling a lot of support from the crowd, every lap it felt more and I wanted to give something more back to them. At least I know I did the maximum I could in the race and these 53 laps gave me so much to learn about the car. I now know what kind of things I need to work on. I was stuck behind cars all day in traffic so it’s hard to know the full race pace of this car but, every lap of the 53, I was building up my confidence in the car. That confidence level is now completely different from the beginning of the weekend to now, I feel positive about that, but I am still disappointed because it is a home Grand Prix and it’s only once a year. I need to reset before Bahrain and I am sure compared to what I was feeling, in terms of car and in terms of confidence it will naturally be better there. I will understand more about the car, and I am excited for the next one, I just need to do better in qualifying. A big congrats to Max, it is good to see one of the Honda engines win at our home Grand Prix, in their final year of collaborating with Red Bull.
