“It was quite tricky out there and the new tarmac seems slippery with only one proper line to use as you lose a lot of grip if you run wide. The wind also picked up in the afternoon but overall I think we improved the car from FP1 to FP2 so it all felt a little bit nicer to drive. We will keep trying to improve even further as there are still things we can do better around here. It was interesting to try two new compounds of Pirelli tyres. We don’t know what they were but one set felt a bit better than the other but they both felt nice. I’m not sure if they are faster than what we usually use but I don’t have anything negative to say. It is difficult to say if we can fight Mercedes this weekend as they look very quick but never say never and we always try our best and see where we are tomorrow.”

"Overall it was a positive weekend and I think we can be very pleased with another second place. I tried to keep as close as possible to Lewis during the race and we just didn’t quite have the pace to fight him but overall I was pleased with the performance. We have taken a step forward with the car this weekend, so I am of course happy with that, but we still need to improve and we will keep pushing so we can take the fight to Mercedes every weekend. The Safety Car re-start was not easy with the cold temperatures and the tyres, especially with the others behind having a bit of a temperature advantage after catching up to us, but I managed to keep them behind and pull away again with Lewis. I’m of course also happy with the point for the fastest lap which was an extra bonus. It’s also good to see Daniel back on the podium, he is a great driver and he really deserves it."

レッドンブルＦ１チームの育成ドライバーで　現在Ｆ２に参戦している

角田裕樹　選手の　レースを始めた頃に関してのコメントです。

 

“In Japan, there is a track near to the highway in the area where I live. My father took me there to try karting for the first time, I don’t remember it clearly, but my father told me that I would enjoy it.

“I started when I was four-years-old, and then raced when I was five-years-old. I was P1 all of the time from a young age, especially in Qualifying. I started in Kids karting, with a baby kart. The car is for kids who are only four or five-year-old, it is really small. Stepping up to the next size kart, which was a bit bigger, I kept getting quite good results.

“Although, I couldn’t reach the pedals when I was young, so I put two seats into the kart! A bigger seat and a smaller seat inside as well.”

次の日本人Ｆ１ドライバー　筆頭候補の角田選手。

こないだ　NHKの朝の報道番組で　角田裕樹選手の特集を

やってました。

NHKがニュースでレーサーを特集するなんて　かなりレアですよね。

 

Ｆ２選手権は過去の日本人はシリーズ上位に絡むことが　ほとんど無かったけど

角田選手はＦ２　ルーキーで暫定シリーズ3位！

F3も　たしか1年で卒業してたような・・

才能、適応力、結果は　完全にＦ１に実力で行けるレベル　かと思います。

 

HONDAがＦ１撤退を発表して　立場が微妙になったけど

メーカーの支援なしにＦ１のシートを実力でつかんでほしいです。

 

過去の小林可夢偉も　Ｆ１まであと一歩の所でTOYOTAがＦ１撤退して

立場が微妙位なったけれど　しっかり自力でＦ１のシートをゲットしたのだから。

2021年をもって　HONDAのＦ１参戦撤退の決定を受けての
