“It was probably the scariest moment of my career! I was sure I was going to crash into Brendon because it’s the part of the track where we’re going at 320kph. Brendon had slowed down massively and I had to change direction when I saw he was slow, but I didn’t know if he was going left or right but I managed to avoid him. I’m really disappointed that I couldn’t make it to Q2. I was improving by sixth/seven tenths which means Q2 was on the cards, this would have been a good result after the tough weekend in China. It’s a big shame for the team but it’s good that in the end we avoided a crash. It’s clear that no one wanted anything like this to happen, but it’s the second time we’ve had a coming together so we need to make sure that we avoid situations like these.”

市街地サーキットで　経験のない　ルーキー２人では　やっぱり厳しいってのが　率直な感想。

アロンソが　ク〇マシンでも　こういうドライバーズサーキットでは　いつも　きっちり結果を出していたのは

やっぱり凄いんだな　って改めて思った。

“The first day in Baku – it’s a street circuit so it’s quite challenging. It was pretty tricky on my side because we only had four or five good laps in FP1. We had a couple of issues, so I didn’t run much but I’m pretty happy with the car as we ended the session P9. It was a good beginning to the weekend even with the track being very dirty. The track then improved in the afternoon but I struggled a bit more. We’re fighting with the balance and the grip and at the moment it doesn’t feel so great. We have some work to do tonight to try and understand how we can improve. It’s so tight between everyone in the midfield, so we’ll have to give it all in FP3 to be ready and get a good result in qualifying tomorrow."

F1 アゼルバイジャンＧＰを前に

Ｆ１　第３戦　アゼルバイジャンＧＰが今週末２７日(決勝２９日）から始まりますが

なんで　こんな小さな　マイナーな国でＦ１開催するんだよ？って思ったこと無いですか？？

 

今回は　日本では　なじみの薄いアゼルバイジャンという国について書いてみますね。

 

 

 

【　アゼルバイジャン　】

首都　　　バクー

人口　　　９６０万（２０１３年）

言語　　　アゼルバイジャン語　英語は若い人以外は通じないらしい

宗教　　　９６％はイスラム教　でも飲酒は自由

通貨　　　マナト

 

 

と、まあ　主要データを書いてみましたが　

国自体も　首都も言語も通貨も　日本では　かなりマナーな存在でした。数年前までは！

 

でも今は　経済界あるいは投資家の間では　話題になってます。

ドバイの次は　アゼルバイジャンらしい！と。

 

 

まずロケーション

カスピ海　西岸に面した　この国は　東西貿易の陸路の中継地として注目されているんです。

なぜか？

アジア～欧州の貿易陸路を結ぶには　

このあたりの経度では　ロシア　アゼルバイジャン　イランの　いずれかを必ず通らなければならなく　

その安全性を考慮するとアゼルバイジャンが第一候補となるのだそうです・

 

 

次に　実は資源国

カスピ海から採れる天然ガスは埋蔵量が多く　また石油も実はアラビア半島より埋蔵量がおおいとのこと。

ガスに関しては　欧州はロシアからの依存度を下げたい点から　アゼルバイジャンが注目とのことです。

 

 

実際２００６年から２０１４年の間は　経済成長率が平均２０％と同時期　世界一のレベルでした。

というわけで　２０１６年から　Ｆ１が開催ってのは　納得ですね。

Ｆ１は　儲かるところでしか開催しないから！

 

 

でも直近では　急激な成長によって大気汚染が進行したり

インフレ率も高いとの情報も有ったりします。

 

 

 

ちなみに　

アゼルバイジャンは　かなりの親日国らしいですよ。

 

技術やアニメの国　ニッポンというイメージは　もちろんですが

アゼルバイジャンは長きに渡ってロシアに抑圧されてきた国なので

かつて　大国ロシアに立ち向かい　勝利した日本に　勇気を　掻き立てられる

　という理由も　あるそうです。

“It was a tough day for us, at the beginning of the race I had no grip on the Ultrasofts so that compromised our strategy. Starting near the back of the grid we tried alternating strategies to give us a better chance but unfortunately that didn’t work. I think the accident with Pierre was down to a miscommunication. The team asked us to swap positions because we were on completely different strategies, so I was going to let him by on the exit of Turn 14 like I did at the start of the race. The second time we had to change positions I planned to do the same but I got hit from behind at the apex. Then towards the end of the race I had to retire because the team saw an issue with the gearbox. In the end it was a long afternoon.”

“It was a difficult weekend for us overall because we never found the pace since Saturday morning. We knew the race would be difficult after the performance we had in qualifying and the car was quite tricky. Today things didn’t really work out for us, so we have plenty to analyse between the two weekends and try to understand why we were fast in Bahrain and why we struggled in Shanghai. I apologise to Brendon for the contact we had, the team told me that they were going to switch our positions so I went on the inside of the back straight thinking he would give me space. Unfortunately, I don’t think he saw me and once I was on the inside there was nothing I could do. We lost a lot of time after that, I broke my front wing and the steering bent at the end of the race, so it was really difficult to drive and we couldn’t do much from there. We have some work to do to get ready for Baku, it’s a track I know and like so I’m looking forward to getting there.”

“It was a tough day today. Yesterday was quite positive for us finishing 11th and 12th, but we changed the car and since this morning I’ve struggled to find pace which made it difficult to put everything together. We didn’t have much time to change the setup between FP3 and Qualifying, and in the end it was a difficult qualifying session. I’m still learning a lot about the track, I think in the long run yesterday we looked OK in terms of degradation - so that’s positive - but starting 17th we will have to find a way to come back. Hopefully we can understand what went wrong and find the pace again tomorrow. Yesterday we struggled a bit with the front of the car and today there were problems with the rear. I would say we know in the long run we’re usually pretty good with the degradation, but tonight we need to understand why the changes we made didn’t work. We’ll try everything to come back tomorrow.”

今年もモータースポーツ　ジャパン行ってみました!

このイベント会場　日陰のエリア少ないので　雲って助かったです。

去年は日差しが強くて　きつかった・・

 

２日目の日曜は　雨天強風が予想されるため中止とのことです。

 

過去にも強風で時短　中止があったように思います。

風に弱いイベントとか・・

せっかく大掛かりなイベントなのに　何とかならないのかな。
