第14回テクテク隊「文楽鑑賞」Appreciation of Bunraku

今年最初のテクテク隊は寒い季節の逍遥はきついので
以前から隊内で要望のあった「文楽」を鑑賞してきました。

国立小劇場でおこなわれた　文楽二月公演　第三部「曾根崎心中」
かなりの人気の演目なのでチケット購入には少々苦労しましたが　
なんとか４人連席を手に入れて　いざ！　隼町へ

その前に腹ごしらえに　隊長が予約した近くのカレーレストランへ
It’s too cold to walk around, we enjoyed “Bunraku”-Japanese traditional puppet play-
in stead.
Out of February Bunraku performances, we appreciated Program 3, “Sonezaki Shinju”
-The Love Suicides at Sonezaki-
The program is so popular that buying tickets was a bit hard.
We managed to get four seats in a row.

Before that, we had curry at an Indian Restaurant near the theater.

観賞中　眠くなっては困るのでビールは控えめ...

We remembered to take a picture after finished, as usual.
As for beer, we drank modestly, in case we got sleepy during performance.

開演前　右側の小さな舞台が　浄瑠璃語りの太夫と三味線奏者が座る場所です

人形の大きさは1から1.5メートルくらい　意外と大きいものです。
それを一体３人がかりで演じてゆきます。
The size of puppets is 1 to 1.5 meter, they are larger than expected.
On the stage, each puppet is manipulated by three puppeteers.

内容は　金がらみで友人に裏切られ　世間的にも行き詰まって　
馴染みの遊女と心中する　という非常に単純なものです。
その点同じ近松ものの「心中天網島」のほうが　心理描写の深みがまさっているように思いますが
しかし　最後の道行きから心中まで　このためにだけこの浄瑠璃を作ったとも思える　
耽美的で廃退的で　それはもう　見事なシーンでした。

浄瑠璃の絞り出すような男のしわがれ声が　
人形の色気をいや増す　不思議な異空間をたっぷり味わってきました。

“Sonezaki” is just another story
…A young merchant was swindled out of his money by a friend and came to a deadlock
then at last committed suicide along with his beloved prostitute….
Compared with it, another Chikamatsu’s play “Shinju Tennoamijima”-The Love suicide at Tennnoamijima- is more excellent in psychological description.
However the journey to the forest where they commit suicide is aesthetic and decadent….oh, what should I say….breath-taking beautiful scene, just for which the play might‘ve been made.
Strange to say, the hoarse voice of Joruri-chanting man makes the girl’s puppet more seductive.
We fully enjoyed such a peculiar atmosphere
