This time, I’ll talk about my printmaking environment and my health issues.

私のスクリーン版画制作の場合 インクそのものや
インクを薄めたり版を洗浄するのは有機溶剤を使っています。
いわゆるシンナー系です。（キシレンやシクロヘキサン等含有）
非常に揮発性が高く臭いです。危険です。
夏場などクーラーを付けて窓を閉め切って１日中作業をしていると
クラクラしてきます。
夜はアルコール系（！）も体に入りますので
夢見心地はずっとつづきます......
In the case of screen printing ,I always use some organic solvents.
First, ink itself is made of them and for making it thin or washing the screens
I use so called thinner which contains substances of xylene or cyclohexane system.
They are highly volatile and smell terrible,so harmful to the health.
In the summer, since I work all day long in the studio keeping the windows closed
and air-conditioned, I gradually feel dizzy.
In the evening, with alcohol system(!) added, I keep on tripping……

ところで、空気の悪さについてですが、日本でさえも解決し切れないのでしょうか?私はロンドンで版画を学んでおりますが、イギリスは電気周りのことは「後退！国」ですので、日本なら大丈夫に違いないと思っていたのです。
ちなみに私の大学では、異常を感じたらすぐ外に出るよう指示されております。また、７０歳に近いテクニシャンが一人いて、彼は元気なのだから恐れることはない！とも言い聞かされております。

私も最近になってアイコさんのブログを見始めました。
昔２０年程前まで銅版画を制作していましたので
よく判ります。
スクリーン版画の後銅版画制作の問題点も書くつもりですので読んでみて下さい。
そんなに詳しくは知らないのですが
大学関係や私設工房は排気施設などはかなり
考慮されていると聞いています。
ただ いずれにせよ 木版以外は結構危ない材料を
使っていますね 版画制作は...
これからもイギリス生活のお話 楽しみにしています。

その内 まずいと言われるイギリスの食べ物の
お話なんかも載せて下さい。
