デンマーク（Denmark 🇩🇰）： Danish organics

２０１９年２月１３日（Wed.） 水泳の池江選手（18）が、自ら白血病であることを発表しています。本人が一番苦しいことでしょうが、国民の多くも心を痛めていることでしょう。しかし、昨今は、完治可能な病気でもあると報道されていますし、治療に専念して復帰を目指して欲しいと願うばかりです。
一方で、関連大臣でもある五輪相（桜田）が、このことについて、“ ガッカリした” との配慮に欠く発言をしたことには、腰が抜けるほどビックリしました。 正に、稚拙な思考が露見したと思わざるを得ません。やはり、安倍政権は全体的に、こうした傾向にあるようです、自己中心的・利己的なのです。

血液の癌とも呼ばれている白血病ですが、真の原因究明は難しいことなのでしょう。しかし、発ガン性を疑われるような物質を含む食材は、市場から排除したいところです。 その中の一つ除草剤成分のグリホサートは、遺伝子組換え食材に含まれているし、私達に知らされないままに、多くの加工食品等に含まれていることでしょう。ドイツのビールからもグリホサートが検出されたことは既報ですし、間違いなく、私達の体内にも入ってしまっていることでしょう。 これまでのEU等からの報道を俯瞰するのであれば、これは間違いのない推論と思います。
一部の人は知っていることなのですが、大半の人は、そうした事実を知らないと思われます。 メーカーや行政の責任は重大ですが、マスコミや政治のそれは、もっと大きいと断じます。

The food and environment minister Jakob Ellemann-Jensen is in Nuremburg, Germany, tomorrow to promote Danish wares at Biofach, the world’s biggest organic fair.

And it’s no coincidence that the minister is making the trip this year as more and more places worldwide begin to crave Danish organic produce.

Exports of Danish organic wares increased by 20 percent from 2016 to 2017 and it is particularly Germany, Sweden and China that are thirsting for the products – the three countries accounts for over 66 percent of all Danish organic export.

“The market for organic food products continues to grow every year. In Denmark and the rest of the world organic alternatives are on the rise, so it’s great to see consumers around the globe have such trust in Danish organics. I hope to be able to make an effort to strengthen that trust at Biofach,” said Ellemann-Jensen.

German backing
Aside from taking part in the fair, Ellemann-Jensen will also meet with Felix Prinz zu Löwenstein, the head of the federation of organic food industry in Germany, Bund Ökologische Lebensmittelwirtschaft, to discuss Danish and German initiatives within organic foods.

Germany takes by far the greatest share of Danish organic exports at a whopping 42 percent, followed by Sweden (16 percent), China (10 percent) and France (7 percent).

The rise in exports has been especially driven by dairy products, particularly milk and butter.

There are 32 Danish companies taking part in Biofach this year.

こうした警告は、以前にも発表されています。 農場などで使われる殺虫剤（成分： ネオニコチノイド、通称ネオニクスなど）などが、受粉虫である蝶やミスバチを激減させ、受粉そのものが出来なかったり、虫を餌としている野鳥などが激減している事実が報道されて来ています。

農作物の大量生産を目的として使われる殺虫剤などが悪影響を及ぼしている大きな要因の一つだとされています。 手間暇はかかったとしても、持続可能な社会を維持・構築する方向に、生産方式を切り替えるべきではないでしょうか。

その点、日本は、かなり後手に回っていると思われます。 これはグリホサート問題とも共通する面があります。 一体、日本の政治・行政は、どこを向いて仕事をしているのでしょうか。 国民の為とは言い難いと感じています。（また、お役所体質が感じられます。）

German charity Sea-Eye renamed the ship in the presence of Alan's father, Abdullah Kurdi, and aunt, Tima Kurdi, in Palma on Spain's Balearic Island of Mallorca.

"We are happy that a German rescue ship will carry the name of our boy. My boy on the beach must never be forgotten. Our grief for the loss of my wife and sons is shared by many, by thousands of families who have so tragically lost sons and daughters this way," Abdullah Kurdi said in a statement released by Sea-Eye.
Abdullah had fled the "Islamic State" and the Syrian civil war, deciding in 2015 to pay people smugglers to take him and his family from Turkey to Greece after Turkish authorities didn't grant the family the exit visas needed to join Tima in Canada.

The tiny boat capsized minutes after leaving Turkey, killing eleven people including Abdullah's wife, Rehanna, and two sons, Ghalib and Alan.

A photograph of Alan's lifeless body face down in the sand on a Turkish beach shocked the world, becoming a symbol of the migration crisis and rallying cry for humane action.
Sea-Eye says it has saved more than 14,000 people from drowning during dangerous boat crossings in the Mediterranean since it started operating in 2016.
The rescue ship was previously named Professor Albrecht Penck.

There was also an arson attack on the home of the head of France's National Assembly, though it was not clear if the attack was linked to the protests.
The "yellow vest" protests began in mid-November over fuel taxes.
They have since broadened into a revolt against the President, Emmanuel Macron, and a political class seen as out of touch with common people.
According to French government figures, 51,400 people joined the protests on Saturday, 4,000 of them in Paris. That was down from the previous week, when official figures put the number at 58,600, 10,500 in Paris.
Representatives for the yellow vests disputed the previous week's numbers, claiming the turnout was higher.
In Paris on Saturday, the protesters marched from the Champs-Elysees to the city's parliament buildings, where a violent contingent broke down barriers and threw projectiles at police. Police responded with tear gas and anti-riot munitions.

Cars have been set on fire close to the yellow vests' protest in Bordeaux

According to an eyewitness, the person who lost their hand was a photographer attempting to take pictures of people breaking down barriers around the National Assembly building.
"When the cops went to disperse people, he got hit by a sting-ball grenade in the calf," 21-year-old Cyprien Royer told AFP news agency. "He wanted to bat it away so it didn't explode by his leg and it went off when he touched it.
"We put him to one side and called the street medics. It wasn't pretty: he was screaming with pain, he had no fingers - he didn't have much above the wrist."
Paris police confirmed that a demonstrator was injured in the hand and been treated by paramedics, but did not identify the victim.

Tens of thousands of protesters turned out in other parts of France, including the port cities of Marseille and Montpellier and also in Bordeaux and Toulouse in the southwest.
Eight police officers were lightly injured during clashes with protesters in Bordeaux, local police said.
Politicians came together to condemn the arson attack on the home of Richard Ferrand, a close ally of Mr Macron, in Motreff, Brittany.
Mr Ferrand published pictures on Twitter of his scorched living room, writing: "Nothing justifies intimidations and violence towards an elected official of the Republic."

アイルランド（Ireland 🇮🇪）： Award-winning hen

２０１９年２月９日（Sat.） 関東や北日本は厳寒の三連休になっているようです。寒さ等のピークはこれからの地域もあるようですから、十分に気をつけて下さい。

さて、ある雌鶏の死亡が伝えられています。（ ニュースソース： The Liberal.ie ２月８日発 ）

賞を受けたことのある雌鶏が、病気で亡くなりました。この鶏は４才半で、オーナーは喪に服しています。

An award-winning hen has passed away after a short illness, aged 4 and a half years.

Marmalade, a Red Mottled Leg-Horn hen, had smashed local records after stolidly and unflinchingly delivering five clutches of chickens every year during her short-lived but fruitful and breed-driven existence. The owner of the rather fertile creature, Offaly farmer John Dolan, is said to be in deep mourning after Marmalade’s untimely passing.

Apart from spawning 181 offspring in total, Marmalade’s outstanding career includes feats such as being chosen to lead the St. Patrick’s Parade in the town of Banagher in 2018, followed by a public drinking of Guinness for the delight of the locals, who photographed the event for PR purposes.

But Marmalade’s gung-ho lifestyle finally caught up with it, as it is understood that she had suffering of ill-health lately. The hen passed away peacefully in the arms of Mr. Dolan’s loving daughter Emma in the early hours of this morning.

The distraught owner confessed that he “could not bear” the thought of burying Marmalade’s feathery corpse, and that he had hoped to get seven years worth of chickens out of it. Alas, this was not to be.

Marmalade is now destined to become an icon of reverence for locals and hens the world over, as Mr. Dolan intends to have it stuffed by a taxidermist. Marmalade’s final resting place will be a hen-sized glass cage to be observed, adored, and serve as inspiration for less accomplished hens.

こんなに大切にされている鶏もいるんですね、名前もつけられているぐらいですし。

２０１２年のデンマークの農場滞在では、出荷用の鶏もいましたが、採卵用の住み込み（？）鶏もいました。 そこには、ヒヨコもいましたし、溺れかけたそのヒヨコを助けたことも思い出しました。
