続報・アイルランド発： by a toddler playing with a stove

さて、一昨日にＵＰした当ブログの続報です。　ニューヨーク（ＵＳ）での火災原因を報じています。　（　ニュースソース：　The LIberal.ie　１２月３０日発　）

In a truly tragic and unfortunate revelation, it’s understood a toddler accidentally left a stove on which caught fire and inevitably claimed 12 lives in the Bronx, New York early on Friday.

12 people died, including four children, after a blaze ripped through an apartment block in the Bronx district of New York.

Up to 160 firefighters fought the blaze for several hours

This is the deadliest fire in New York since 1990, when an arson attack in the same district killed 87.

（抜粋）本当に悲惨で、不幸で意外な真実は、誤って幼児とストーブを放置したことが火災の原因と考えられています。　１２人の命を奪うことになっています、ニューヨーク、金曜日の早朝のことでした。
この火災で、１２名が亡くなっていて、４人の子供が含まれています。
数時間にわたって最大で１６０人の消防士が炎と戦いました。　ニューヨークの１９９０年以降で一番悲惨な火災となっています。以前のは放火犯によるもので、同じ地域で８７人が死亡したものです。

想定外だったのでしょうが、幼児を残して（放置して）しまったことが悲惨な事態を招いてしまったと言えるのでしょう。

可能性や恐れを予見し、安全サイドの判断・行動をすることが、家族や地域を護ることになるのでしょう・・・。

デンマーク： re-establish historic lake

２０１７年１２月３０日（Sat.） 明日は大晦日、我が家でもおせち料理の準備に入っています。

The government has decided to refill Søborg Lake with water and re-establish the area in north Zealand as the nature sanctuary it was before it was drained in the 1870s.

The lake, which was originally drained to make way for agriculture land, is kept drained by the use of pumps – which will be shut off in the new year.

“Re-establishing Søborg Lake will greatly benefit the Danish nature and I’ve encountered significant support to the plan from a local standpoint,” said the food and environment minister, Esben Lunde Larsen.

（抜粋）政府はこの湖を再び水で満たすことを決定しました。　このシェラン島北部のエリアを、１８７０年代に水を抜いてしまう前の自然保護区として復活させるのです。　この湖は、そもそも農業用地にする目的でポンプを使って水を抜いてきました。　が、新しい年ではこれが中止（水抜きを）されます。
食品環境を担当する大臣は、この湖を復活させることはデンマークの自然にとって大きな利点があると述べ、さらにこの計画には地域の立場からの多くの支援に支えられてきていると語っています。（一部、意訳）

Lunde of the lake
Larsen said that a VVM report (evaluation of environmental effects) will commence in early 2018 and the government will begin looking for funding for the project – part of it will come from the sale of state camping spots in the area.

The area is about 500 hectares in size, 340 of which will be the lake and the rest for meadows.

As of now, the ground is distributed among 63 land owners and part of the project will entail finding land to offer the owners as trade for the land earmarked for the lake area.

（抜粋）また、環境影響評価については２０１８年の早期段階から始める予定で、政府としてはこのプロジェクトの資金調達を始める予定でもあるとしています。　同エリアの一部はキャンピング・スポットとして販売されることにもなります。
このエリアはおよそ５００ヘクタールあり、湖部分は３４０ヘクタールで、残りは牧草地になる予定です。
今の時点で、土地は６３のオーナーに分配されていますが、代替土地を見つけることが必要になります。

５００ヘクタールと言えばおよそ５００町歩相当になりますので、これだけの広さを湖などに戻すことは、かなりの大掛かりなプロジェクトでしょうね。　しかも、”自然” に戻す方向の取り組みであることにも感心してしまいます。

２０１７年１２月２９日（Fri.） 年末の大掃除などのため、海外のニュースに目を通すことも出来ない状況です（言い訳ですが）。

Gardai in Co Mayo have tragically confirmed that two bodies have been found following a search in Louisburgh.

The discovery comes after two men aged 26 and 27 years old went missing after the SUV they were travelling in plunged into water beside a bridge in the early hours of this morning.

A third man aged 19 managed to exit the vehicle and raised the alarm.

Emergency services are at the scene.

The bodies of the deceased men have been taken to Castlebar hospital.

ドイツ： Rhine cruise ship hits bridge pylon

２０１７年１２月２８日（Thu.） 今年も残り僅か、我が家も迎春の準備に追われています。　それにしても、国内報道を見ていると、見識や良識を疑ってしまうようことが実に多いですね。　世の中、何か歯車が狂ってしまっているように思えてしまいます。

さて、ドイツから、ライン川のクルーズ船が橋の案内塔に衝突してしまったようです。　（　ニュースソース：　ＤＷ－ＤＥ　１２月２７日発　）

ライン川のクルーズ船が橋の案内塔に衝突し負傷者が出ています。

The "Swiss Crystal" passenger cruiser hit a motorway bridge pylon near Duisburg, injuring around 25 people. Another ship helped the passengers to safety.

The accident happened late Tuesday on the Rhine River near the north-west German city of Duisburg.

There were 129 people on board the ship when the vessel hit a supporting pillar of the A42 motorway.

Four people were taken to hospital with serious injuries while 20 others were slightly hurt. A police spokesperson told the Germany's Deutsche Presse Agentur that none of the injuries appeared fatal.

Another nearby ship helped to take the injured off the "Swiss Crystal." A number of fire department boats were also involved.

The A42 is expected to remain closed on Wednesday as structural engineers carry out safety checks.

The "Swiss Crystal" was completed in the year 1995 and was completely renovated in 2007. The 101 meter (330 foot) long vessel, owned by the Swiss shipping company SCYLLA, sails out of Basel. The ship involved in Tuesday's accident was en route to the Netherlands.

According to Duisburg emergency services, the tour operator offered passengers the chance to complete their journey in a replacement ship. Guests were also offered hotel accommodation for the night, as well as other means of transport back to their respective homes.

"Swiss Crystal"（事故を起こしたクルーズ船）は１９９５年に完成したもので、２００７年には改修されています。　全長１０１ｍで、スイスの会社が所有しています。　この船はオランダに向けて航行している途中でした。
このツアー主催者側は、代行する船で旅を続行することや、また事故時の代替宿泊施設の手配、または、めいめいの自宅に戻るなどの対応も図っているとしています。

事故原因はわかりませんが、死者を出すまでには至っていないようです。　それにしても全長１００ｍからの船が衝突すれば、自動車道側への影響は少なくないようにも思えますが・・・、詳細は不明です。

２０１７年１２月２７日（Wed.） 今日の午前中は雪模様、東に見える猿投山（さなげやま）も薄っすらと白くなっています。　こんな日ではありますが、今夜は町内会主催の夜間パトロールに参加予定です。　予報では１℃、風速は６～７ｍ／ｓ・・・、と言うことは体感温度はマイナス５℃かも。（愛知県平野部）

さて、子供電話相談室（？）とでも言うのでしょうか、アイルランドでも Childline が利用されているようです。　（　ニュースソース：　The Liberal.ie　１２月２６日発　）

（抜粋）困ったり悩んだりしている子供たちからの、クリスマスの日におけるチャイルドラインへのコンタクトは1,000回以上になりました。　このラインは２４時間体制でボランティアが配置されていて、通年３６５日なのですが、１２月２５日には計1,020コールを受けたのです。

これはアイルランドでの話ですが、クリスマスの日に、これだけのコールがあったことにインパクトがあるのでしょう。

日本でも、子供たちの抱える悩み事は少なくないのでしょう。　中には逆に、自分の子供を虐待して死に至らしめてしまった最近のケースもあるくらいですし・・・。　こう言う人に親の資格は無いし、親になる資格もない、そう思えてしまいます。

これに限らずですが、社会正義も通らず・護られず、悪事や不公正・不公平なことがまかり通り、指導者たる政治家が自ら範を垂れることも無く、逆に非難を浴びることを平然と押し切っている。　司法も全く機能していないように見えてしまう社会では、子供のみならず、大人まで鬱憤（うっぷん）が溜まってしまっているようです。　社会全体が荒（すさ）んでいるように見えます。

こんな政権が、人材教育とか育成などと言う言葉を使うことは、”片腹痛い” としか言いようがありません。
