ドイツ： カーニバル・シーズンで目立つもの

German Carnival is back with a vengeance, ridiculing the likes of Donald Trump, Marine Le Pen, and Angela Merkel. Following a turbulent year, Germans seem to be especially eager to slaughter some sacred cows.

Carnival is the time when Germans finally let loose and poke fun at themselves and others, mercilessly mocking world leaders with massive parade floats. This year, the jesters took aim at the up-and-coming right-wingers.

Donald Trump took central stage for the Rosenmontag celebration, followed by many other controversial figures, from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and European populist leaders Marine Le Pen and Geert Wilders, to Germany's very own Angela Merkel.

The parades are a part of Carnival celebrations and remain very popular in the traditionally Catholic areas of Germany. Cities along the Rhine, like Cologne, Mainz, and Düsseldorf are particularly proud of their Rosenmontag (Shrove Monday) traditions and always try to outdo each other with their Carnival blow-out.

それにしても、稚拙で我儘なリーダーが少なくないようですね。　各国の良識ある国民が、それぞれに排除に動くべきでしょう・・・。　威勢のよいことを断言する輩（やから）には要注意です。

蛇足：　大阪府の建築中の小学校にまつわる話（土地売買の件や、安倍や安保法成立を賞賛するかのような歌を関連する幼稚園の子供に歌わせていたとか・・・）は、いかにも怪しげで、真相を追究してもらいたいと思います。

アイルランド： 牛の四つ子誕生

２０１７年２月２６日（Sun.） ＵＳのトランプ政権が露骨なメディア選別・取扱いをしているそうですね。最低です・・・、呆れて物も言えません。　一方で、日本の国会では、麻生財務大臣が答弁の前（？）に、マイクに拾えるほどのハッキリとした声で ｢何調子のいいこと言ってんだか・・・｣ と独り言とも・恫喝とも思える言葉を発したことが問題視されていて、民進党も委員長に抗議しているとか。　政治家のレベルが酷過ぎ（ひどすぎ）ませんか？
こんな政治家を選んでしまっている国民にも問題があるのでしょうね、きっと。

さて、少しは心温まるような話題を扱いたいと思いますが、２・３日前に見かけていたアイルランドでの話題をＵＰします。　（　ニュースソース：　The Journal.ie　２月２３日発　）

The odds of four identical calves born are estimated at around a billion to one.

ON SUNDAY, FOUR identical calves were born at a farm outside Ennistymon, Co Clare.

The odds of such a birth are about a billion to one, according to geneticists who calculated the chances after a similar situation in Norfolk, England over a decade ago.

Today, “the proudest farmer in Ireland” Tom Clair spoke to Áine Lawlor on RTÉ’s News at One about the unlikely birth of the identical quadruplets.

He’d been expecting the cow to have twins, due to her size. Clair had last checked on the cow late on Saturday night and thought she’d make it to the morning without giving birth.
彼女（母牛）の大きさからして、彼（ Tom ）は恐らく双子だろうと想像していました。　土曜日の夜に最後にチェックしたときには、朝までは出産はないだろうと考えました。

“I came down then at half seven on Sunday morning,” he said, “and when I got down there were two calves standing in front of her.”

Then, the farmer noticed a third calf lying by the cow’s side. So, he put the three together before he heard a “another little moo”.

（抜粋）日曜日の朝７時半に見にやってきました。そして、母牛の前に２匹の子牛が立っていましたと彼は語ります。　そして、彼は母牛の横に寝そべる３番目の子牛に気がつきました。　そして、３匹を並べたところ、彼は他の小さな”モー”（注：　鳴き声）を聞いたのです。

　　　”I looked down at the three, and knew the little moo wasn’t coming from them.”

“There he was then standing outside in the yard,” Clair said. “It was unbelievable, Áine.”

When asked if he felt like he won the Lotto when he saw the fourth, he said that you get a lot more satisfaction out of a calf any day than you would from winning the Lotto.

The mother of the four is a Hereford cross while the father is a Charolais bull.

Clair gave the mother all the credit for carrying the identical quadruplets, giving her a chance to rest by hand feeding the calves for the last few days.

The farmer added that it was a “pure novelty” for many as people from all over the area came to visit to see the calves.

Mia, Rosey, Fluffy and Jenny are doing well and, nearly a week later, Clair is still as excited as the celebrations continue in Ennistymon.

四つ子の牛が生まれることは極希なことなのですね。　家畜を飼うことの大変さも少しは知っていますが（２０１２年にデンマークの牧場で８０日間過ごしました）、こうした喜びや、動物達との心の触れ合いを感じることができるのでスバラシイことだとも感じています、それだけではありませんが。

それにしても、この４匹は名前をもらっているんですね。　Mia, Rosey, Fluffy and Jenny 　元気に育って下さい・・・。

デンマーク： スウェーデンに哀悼の意？！

２０１７年２月２４日（Fri.） ほとぼりは冷めたかと思っていましたが、ＵＳのトランプ発言に関するアクションがデンマークの首都コペンハーゲンで行われるようです。　（　ニュースソース：　CPH POST ONLINE　２月２３日発　）

A Facebook page promoting a memorial event in Copenhagen for those who perished in the yet-to-be identified terrorist attacks mentioned by US President Donald Trump last week has exploded.

Unlike the non-existent attacks themselves, the memorial event looks set to be packed, with over 4,000 actual people saying they are interested in the event and a cool 1,200 people already promising to attend.

（抜粋）コペンハーゲン（ＣＰＨ）でのこのイベントはフェイスブック（ＦＢ）で企画されていて、先週のトランプ大統領の発言によるテロで犠牲になった人々に対するものです。（注：　トランプの誤った発言によるもので、実際にはスウェーデンでのテロは発生していないのです。）　現実には存在しなかったテロとは異なり、この追悼集会は企画され、４千人を超える人々がこのイベントに関心を示しており、また掛け値なしの１２００人が参加を約束しています。

Bowling Green we hardly knew ye
“Following the terrible attack on our sister country Sweden reported by US President Trump, the Nordic countries now stand united,” reads the main post on the page.

“We invite all citizens to visit the Swedish Embassy on Friday at 5 pm to honour our Swedish brothers, sisters and the country we love so much.”

The organisers said Copenhagen Police have approved the “love-filled”event that will offer “an opportunity to lay flowers in front of the embassy”.

The Swedish Embassy in Copenhagen is located at Sankt Annæ Plads 15. The memorial will start at 17:00 on Friday February 24.

ＵＳのトランプの発言による姉妹国であるスウェーデンで起こされた恐ろしいテロ事件を鑑み、ノルディック諸国は今や団結します・・・と主要新聞のページに書かれています。　私達は、金曜日（注：　２４日）の夕方５時からスウェーデン大使館に全ての市民を招待します。　これはスウェーデンの兄弟姉妹に敬意を表明するためなのです。　主催者によると、この愛情に満ちた、また、大使館の前に花を供える機会となる申し出を警察は許可しています。　ＣＰＨのスウェーデン大使館の住所は Sankt Annæ Plads 15 です。　追悼セレモニーは２月２４日金曜日、１７時開始予定です。

トランプの誤った理解と発言に対して、痛烈な皮肉を放つものでしょう。　また、記事の中では政権顧問コンウェーの誤りについても皮肉っています。Bowling Green の虐殺などもなかったことなので、これも認識することは不可能、で、わざわざ” ye ”（なんじ）という文言を使用しているようです。

何事もなければこうした皮肉めいた行動や記事で意思表示をすることもなかったのでしょうが、トランプ政権の暴言・暴挙は、普通の人を普通であることをやめさせてしまう、つまり、波風を立ててしまっていると言うことでしょう。

さて、ＣＰＨのスウェーデン大使館前の集会まで、あと７時間ほどですが、どのように展開されるのでしょうか。

アイルランド： 路上の妊婦に緊急出動

２０１７年２月２３日（Thu.） 耳を疑うような事件や言動が飛び交う昨今ですが、心温まる話題が伝えられています、アイルランド・首都ダブリン近郊のことです。　（　ニュースソース：　The Independent.ie　２月２２日発　）

Fire brigade crews once again played the role of stork tonight when they assisted at the roadside birth of a baby.
消防隊員が今夜（注：　２２日夜）コウノトリの役割を再びしました。　ロードサイドでの出産を補助したのです。

Emergency services were alerted to a call for assistance for a woman in a car in Dublin who was in advanced labour and needing immediate help.

An emergency call was received around 8.30pm about a mother-to-be reported to be in distress in a car in the Crumlin area.

A fire engine crew from Dolphin's Barn and an ambulance crew from Rathfarnham arrived at the scene.

The crews assisted the woman in giving birth in the back of the ambulance at the scene, said a Dublin Fire Brigade spokesman last night.

Mother and baby were taken to The Coombe maternity hospital.

母親と赤ちゃんは　Coombe maternity hospital（産科病院）に搬送されました。

アイルランド： ホームレスの死

２０１７年２月２２日（Wed.） 今日も寒い一日になっていますが、アイルランドで悲惨なニュースが流れています。　（　ニュースソース：　The Liberal.ie　２月２１日夕方発　）

Devastating news this afternoon: It’s happened AGAIN, a 25-yr-old homeless man has died sleeping rough in County Offaly
今日（注：　２月２１日）の午後の悲惨なニュース：　再び発生、２５歳のホームレス男性は野宿中に死亡、Offaly での出来事です。



It doesn’t get much worse than this. ANOTHER homeless person has died on our streets today.

The horrific news has emerged after 25-yr-old Cork native Conor O’Hagan was hospitalized in Tullamore from symptoms sustained from sleeping rough and has tragically died last night as a result.

Conor was originally from Clonakilty, Co. Cork but recently was staying in Tullamore, County Offaly.

Local lady Eva Donlon told The Liberal:
“A memorial service will be held at O’Connor Square, Tullamore tomorrow evening at 7pm where local musicians will play tribute to him.”

Eva told of how devastating the death of the young man is to the community and to Ireland as whole. She said it’s particularly pertinent given that the figure of homelessness across the country has surpassed 7,100.

Eva continued:
“This is not only to pay our respects to Conor and his family and friends but also to highlight the crisis of homeless on a day where the figure has gone past 7,100”.

May he Rest In Peace.

現地の女性 Eva は語ります：　追悼のセレモニーは O’Connor Square で、明日の夜７時に開かれます。　地元のミュージシャン達が彼を追悼（演奏）する予定です。
この若き男性の死が如何に悲惨なものか、地域にとっても、そして、アイルランド全体にとってもと Eva は語ります。　そしてホームレスの数が全土で７１００人を超えた数値になっていることは核心に触れるものだとも述べています。
Eva は続けます：　これは Conor や彼の家族・友人への敬意を払うことだけでなく、ホームレス人口が７１００を超えた日であることの危機にも注目すべきです。

関連するニュースが続いたのは偶然かと思いますが、アイルランドの社会問題の一つになっているようです。

１・２年前にアイルランドに住む友人から聞いた話ですが、ホームレスには若い人が結構いるとのことで、そのことも問題になっていると語っていました。　今回亡くなってしまった男性も２５歳ですから・・・。
