ドイツ： German 'Butterbrot'

２０１７年９月３０日（Sat.） 早いもので今日で９月も終り、光陰矢のごとし・・・でしょうか。　我が家ではフォールディング・バイク（折りたたみ型自転車）の使い方に慣れるため、家内と近くの公園まで出かけて、その操作方法などを確認、秋の一日でした。

Single topping

Despite the wealth of fast snacks available everywhere, it's still a classic at any time of the day. The CMA agriculture marketing group declared the Day of the German Butterbrot in 1999. The CMA no longer exists, but the day celebrating Germany's buttered bread lives on.

Evening meal
Germans eat one hot meal a day, so bread with butter and a slice of cold meat or cheese is a common German evening meal - it really is called "Abendbrot," evening bread. Unlike a sandwich, the traditional Butterbrot has few, if any, other toppings.

Endangered species?
Butterbrot fans created a website where they campaign for the preservation of the traditional buttered slices of rye bread "in the era of baguettes, sandwiches and croissants." They post recipes, art, quotes, literature and cartoons – and profess: "Yes, we butter our bread slices!" Above, the bread is spread with delicious Schmalz: rendered pork fat.

Varieties
The Butterbrot has a fancy party variety, too, often seen on buffet tables. In the 1970s, when entire families sat glued to the TV on Saturday evenings, moms would prepare and serve plates of sliced, cut and topped bread.

Bavarian specialty
Hearty, solid food: the Bavarian Brotzeit (again, bread is a staple ingredient) is a snack that was originally munched between breakfast and lunch, but is now widely available at any time of the day in southern Germany.

Snacktime
If you peek into children's and teenagers' school bags, you can be sure to find one or two "Butterbrote," usually not just the buttered kind but topped with cheese, cold cuts, jam or a gooey chocolate spread. It's a common second breakfast at work and on trips for adults, too.

'I love Butterbrot'
Many years ago, my grandmother in the western city of Dortmund would invariably make us kids slices of buttered bread ("Bütterken") for the road after a visit, for our two-hour drive back home. Stuffed as we were after lunch, cake and Abendbrot – there was always room for another Butterbrot.

ドイツのスライスしたライ麦パンにバターを塗ったパンを食べたことがあるでしょうか。　宣伝ではありませんが、名古屋の名東区・フライベッカーサヤには、本場仕込みのものが売られています（営業日：　金・土のみ、ブログに営業情報が開示されます）。　シンプルですが、それ故に美味しいもので、飽きも来ません。

さて、今夜はドイツパンを食べながら一杯やるのです、これから・・・。

ドイツ： Donkey bites sports car

２０１７年９月２９日（Fri.） 新しく購入したミニベロ（小径タイヤの自転車）で、近くの坂道などを走行してみました。　８段変速なので、上り坂もサドルに腰掛けたままで上がってくることが出来、ちょっとした用事に使えそうな感触です。　タイヤサイズは２０インチで取扱いは楽ですが、低速ではハンドルが不安定になる印象があります。　しかし、これは慣れの問題なのかも知れません。　ちなみにフォールディングタイプ（折りたたみ型）なので、車に積み込むことも可能ですし、調べたところ、近隣の私鉄やＪＲなどには、折りたたんで専用バックに収納すれば無料で列車内に持ち込むことが出来ます。　車や列車を利用しながら、合わせてサイクリングも少し楽しむと言った使い方もありそうです。

A court in the western German town of Giessen on Thursday found a donkey guilty of biting the backside of an expensive orange sports car and ordered the owners to pay 5,800 euros ($6,800) in damages.

The attack happened in the countryside not far from Giessen in September 2016. Markus Zahn was driving his bright orange McLaren 650S Spyder on his way to his doctor when he decided to reverse down a country lane to make a U-turn.

Out of nowhere, Vitus the donkey appeared in Zahn's rear mirror and bit twice at the back of the vehicle. The donkey – as a witness later told the court – had reached over a fence to get at the vehicle from a nearby field.

Zahn decided to sue after the donkey owner's insurance refused to pay for the damage. The owner himself declined to pay for the rest of the repair work and told Zahn that he should have picked a better parking space.

The donkey did little to clear up what had happened or why he had decided to attack Zahn's car. "The background to the crime is still completely unclear; it was not possible to get more of a 'hee haw' out of him," local police said in a statement after the incident.

Police later said the donkey may have mistaken the orange car for a multidimensional carrot. But the court found no evidence for that claim on Thursday.

In a twist, they did tell Zahn that he was not the first victim of the four-legged criminal when one judge asked him: "Did you know that a dangerous donkey was up to mischief in the area?" He was alluding to a previous attack.

危ないロバがいたずらを試みたのか、それとも、オレンジの巨大なニンジンだと思い込んだのか？　ロバに聞いても答えてはくれないかも知れません。　しかし、ロバの所有者としては、手痛い賠償金を支払うことになったようです。

それにしても、こんな場所でＵターンしなくてもよかったのに・・・と思うのは、結果を見たから言えることなのでしょう。　一方、巨大なニンジンと思ったかどうかは、オレンジ色の作り物による実験で確認できるでしょうね、裁判に影響はないかも知れませんが。

アイルランド発： Hugh Hefner has passed away aged 91

２０１７年９月２８日（Thu.） 解散総選挙、様々な思いが巡りますが、ほぼ極右と同様の安倍自民や日本会議系、宗教団体系は排除する選挙であって欲しいと思います。　もっと、民主的な世の中に変えて行く必要があります。　その為にも、安倍の大ウソや騙しの発言にはぐらかされてはなりません。　再び、極右系（日本会議系）が政権をとることになったとすると、危機を煽って軍備を拡張、改憲を目指すとともに独裁国家を樹立、民主主義をさらに破壊、格差社会は益々広がる懸念もあります。　安倍のこれまでの政治手法を正視するのであれば、これを再び許すこと出来ないでしょう。

The founder of Playboy, world renowned Hugh Horner died at the age of 91.

It’s understood that he passed away Wednesday evening at his Playboy Mansion house in Los Angeles of natural causes.

Playboy Enterprises, Inc. announced his death;

“Hugh M. Hefner, the American icon who in 1953 introduced the world to Playboy magazine and built the company into one of the most recognizable American global brands in history, peacefully passed away today from natural causes at his home, The Playboy Mansion, surrounded by loved ones,” Playboy Enterprises, Inc. said in a statement Wednesday night.

デンマーク： 一部の都市で、家庭での殺虫剤禁止へ

２０１７年９月２７日（Wed.） 日本では、解散総選挙や新党立ち上げ、野党共闘・再編の動きなど、大変気になるニュースが飛び交っていますが、どこまで真実に迫まった報道をしてくれるのかマスコミは・・・。　方や、国民を欺こうとする政治家の発言にはイラツクばかりです。

Aalborg Council, home to Denmark’s fourth-largest city, will ban the use of pesticides in private yards and gardens, broadcaster DR reported this week.
Aalborg 議会、デンマークで４番目に大きな都市ですが、個人宅の庭での殺虫剤の使用を禁止する予定です。

The use of commercial pesticides like Monsanto’s Roundup will be banned because of health concerns, the chairman of Aalborg’s environmental committee said.

“We have unfortunately seen that the pesticides find their way into the groundwater, and that simply will not do,” Lasse Olsen told DR.

According to DR, homeowners will initially be asked to stop the use of pesticides voluntarily. Within three to four years, the council will put a formal ban in place. It has not yet been decided how the ban will be enforced.

The herbicide glyphosate is the key ingredient in Roundup, which is the most popular weed-killing spray in the world.

Earlier this week, France announced that it would phase out glyphosate completely by 2022 over fears that it may cause cancer. A government spokesman later walked back those comments and said that the country would not seek a ban but “is committed to seeing significant progress on all pesticides".

In the United States, hundreds of cancer patients have sued Monsanto, claiming that they contracted the disease through Roundup. The state of California announced earlier this year that it would add glyphosate to its list of cancer-causing chemicals.

Recent studies have also suggested a strong link between pesticide use and declining bee populations.

原文の前半で pesticide と書かれていますので、これは殺虫剤の意味になりますが、例として出されているのはモンサント社のランドアップ。　これは除草剤になります。　共通的に考えるならば ｢農薬｣ として理解しておけばよいのかも知れません。

それにしても、除草剤は遺伝子組み換え作物に使用されているので、これらを原料とした作物（例：　大豆）などには、発がん性のあるグリホサートが含まれている恐れがあります。　一方、殺虫剤や、農薬処理した種子での栽培は、受粉虫（ミツバチ、蝶など）を死滅させる結果を招いていることは、度々報道されていることです。

大量生産やコスト重視・金儲け優先の考えが、こうした危険食材の流通につながっているとも言えます。　オーガニックなものへのシフトや、地産地消的な考えを広げていかないと、私達は誤った方向に進んで行ってしまうのではないでしょうか。

貧困な政治体制では、こうした危機にすばやい対応ができないでしょう。　原発ですら再稼動する考えの安倍政権ですから・・・。

さて、今夜はお酒をいただく予定ですが、ビールは麦芽１００％のものにしています。　逆に、発泡酒などで原料にコーンスターチと書かれているものは遺伝子組み換え食材が使われている可能性が大で、つまり、除草剤成分のグリホサートが含まれている恐れが高いのです。

これらのことは、当ブログで何回か取り上げてきていますので、最初の方からの読者の皆様には納得できる情報かと思います。　何れにしても、安心して楽しめる世の中でありたいものですね。

Denmark’s booming wind industry has set a number of impressive records in recent years.

From wind turbines accounting for the highest proportion of domestic electricity use ever produced in any country, to having the first windmill to ever pass the 100 million kwh mark or setting a record for the lowest price on wind power, Denmark’s windmills have often been the envy of the world.

But last week, the nation’s fleet of windmills set a record of another kind. Broadcaster DR reported on Monday that final figures have revealed that September 18th was the least productive day in the history of the Danish wind industry.

For several hours that day, the 6,000-plus wind turbines throughout Denmark sat still and produced no energy.

“It was a record in no wind, if you can put it like that,” Stine Leth Rasmussen of the Danish Energy Association (Dansk Energi) told DR P4 Midt & Vest.

Rasmussen said that the record-still day highlights the importance of expanding Denmark’s energy exchanges with neighbouring countries.

Denmark’s goal is to produce over half of all energy by wind power by 2020. The country also aims to be completely free of fossil fuel energy by 2050.

デンマークの目標は、２０２０年までにエネルギーの半分以上を風力で賄おうとしています。　また、２０５０年までに、化石燃料からの完全な脱却を目指しているのです。

悪い方の記録ではありますが、こうした事態も起こりうることとして、対策等につなげて行って欲しいものです。　それにしても、デンマークの目標は明確で、且つ、人類としての望ましい方向でもあるのではないでしょうか。

ところで、安倍が、国難を乗り切るためとかと称しているようですが、国難を作り出し・捏造し、危機を煽っているのは安倍自身であって、ここまで国民を欺こうとする姿勢は醜いとしか言いようがありません。　また、これを支持する自民党や、否定しない与党公明党も同罪でしょう。

また、争点と称して、国民の賛意が得られ易いテーマを掲げ、改憲や加計問題などの不都合な事柄には触れず・隠し続けて国民を欺き、議席を確保したら、後は暴政・暴走・独裁・失政続き。　そして、丁寧に説明して行きますと何度も平気でうそぶき、実際はダンマリの一手。　

こんな極右・且つ宗教団体的な日本会議に洗脳されたかのようなファシスト・全体主義者・国家主義者である今の自民党は、政権から引きずり降ろすしかありません。　マスコミも十分な報道・指摘をしているのでしょうか。　国民もシッカリと本質を見極める必要があります。

少なくとも、安倍の見え見えのウソや騙しの発言は看破しなければなりません。
