2017/06/15 Sat class and NDSL U15.

Hi, guys.

I will keep posting on my coaching things time to time for my note. 

Today, I went for a coaching session with the U9 team of Terenure Rangers at 615. We have two groups training at the same time. I usually look after the SAT group of them(kind of the second team) and the other coach look after the SUN group.

Basically, the kids in the SAT group are not coachable at all. So I need to put more importance on teaching how fun the football is rather than teaching football technics and skills. I do so when I coach the kids in the Sunday group, though. We sometimes switch the roles each other to teach the other team for the day。It's kind of for a change for us and kids need some fresh air from the different coach. 

Today, We started off with a warm-up, followed by a shooting game  and 1 on 1. Of course  we wrapped up with a match. But A huge mess happened towards the end of the match. A goalie in one team was always kicking the ball ramdomly for the goal kick and gave it away to the other team in front of the goal, so the other team kept scoring after some easy interceptions from his goal kick. And his teammates started blaming him for his reckless goal kick attempts... That made him throw a fit and he kicked the ball hard to a boy in the other team. I think it wasn't on purpose hitting him, but unfortunately it hit his penis and fell flat on the ground and started crying big time!! And then everyone started blaming him for the act.  He ended up saying that I don't want to come to training any more.. 

After the session, I had to explain what was going on during the game to his mom. But I think I could've done better for the case before it got out of my hand. To be honest, I should've cut off the match and teach him where he should kick the ball to and how risky it would be after kicking the ball right in the middle area from goal kick. At least I could've averted it if I had done that.

It was a lesson to learn!! 

 

 

　今日からコーチングレポートをブログに上げていきます。自分の為のメモみたいなモノですが、興味があればみてください。

　今日は夕方6時15分から1時間、U9の子ども達の指導。SATクラスだったので技術面というよりは楽しめる内容に。ウォームアップ後にシュート練習、１対１、ゲーム。盛り上がりはよかったかなと。ただ最後のゲーム、キーパーからのゴールキックを何度か続けて真ん中に蹴り、相手の絶好のチャンスボールに、そこをたて続けに決められ試合が決まってしまう。そのイライラが募り、最後は少し荒れた感じで終わり、そのキーパーだった子が他の子達に責められ、もう練習に来たくないと。後々、親も出てきて説明をする事にまで発展。正直、ゴールキックの時点で無理やりプレーを遮断してでも、正しく教えてあげていれば抑えれたと反省。最後も練習に来たくないと言った時点で、子ども達を集めて収拾をつけるべきだった。

　その後、U15の試合を視察。そこのチームのコーチが知人なので、見に来て感想を聞かせてほしいと。そこの統括がScotland Premier leagueのGlasgo Rangers FCのアカデミー統括をしていた方で、今はアイルランドのアカデミーをみているとのこと。紹介してもらい、自分の将来のやりたい事に興味を持ってくれ、コーチとしてやらないかと誘いを受けた。願ってもないことなので、これから話が広がっていけばと思います。

　試合の方は、選手は一応NDSL（North Dublin Schoolboy League)というリーグの選抜チームみたいだけど、レベル的にはまだまだ。縦に急ぎすぎ、難しい選択肢で一発狙いが多い、ワンタッチ目の質の悪さ、ポジショニング、バスの受け方など個人としてもチームとしても課題がたくさん。試合に入りきれず、戦えていない選手も多々。自信の部分が本当に左右するサッカーはメンタルスポーツだと改めて気づかせてくれた。後は選手達に自分がそうであったように、特徴のない器用貧乏な選手にはなってほしくない。これから練習を見て、一緒に成長していければと思います。

To praise is a keyword in football coaching in Ireland. In particular, when you coach young kids. Let me talk about the difference in football coaching between Ireland and Japan.  

I do coaching 4 days a week to local children in Dublin, luckily. I want more opportunities to coach other kids too. Hopefully I would like a fulltime coaching engagement in here.

Now, I've led a U9 team of Terenure Rangers FC in Dublin and coach at their matches every weekend. And what I was surprised most during the matches is that every coach I face at games keeps praising their players or at least keep throwing positives words even on their mistakes. As you know, we are liable to deny our kids to let them know right things. But here in Ireland, they don't follow that way where most Japanese coaches follow. 

Even when my players make a good piece of play or excellent indivdual plays, the coach I play against give my players a praise by saying like 'great play, kid', 'fantactic save, goalie!!'. those mements were a kind of eye-opener for me.

If they play wrong, their coaches never throw negative words on them first, try to find positives out of it, then give them right instructions.

And Irish kids are not mentally weak. Of course I often see them cry at practice from accidental contacts with a ball or a player, but they never be scared of the memories and start playing again. But I see no diciplines in them at practice, so that is the thing to get on my nerve, though. haha

Anyway, it's been great and fun coaching them. 

 

  褒める事。

　これがアイルランドでのコーチングのキーワードだと思います。今日はこっちにきて感じたコーチングの違いについてお話します。今は、週４日ほど子どもにサッカーを教える機会を頂いています。週６、７日と増やしていくことも忘れてはいません。これまでチームを率いるようになって、試合にも何度か立ち合い、コーチングをしています。

　まだまだ子ども達のレベルは始めたばかりといっても過言ではないですが、コーチ達はまず選手のプレーを褒めることを忘れません。試合では特に、うちの選手が良いプレーをしたり、キーパーが良いセービングをした時に、私が選手を褒めるのはもちろん、相手コーチまでもが「Excellent, goalie!!（良いセーブだ、ゴールキーパー！）」と試合中にも関わらず褒めてくれる。子どもの成長に敵、味方も関係なく、良いプレーをすればその場で褒めてあげる。少しカルチャーショックのような衝撃を最初は受けました。日本では見られない事です。

　間違ったプレーに対しても、まずはその選手の決断を尊重してあげる。そしてよりベターな答えを選手に導かせてあげる。子どもが自分で考えて出した答えは絶対に忘れないからです。その為のプレーのデモもより重要になってきます。

　そしてこっちの子どもはぶつかって泣いてもひるまない。拗ねてもすぐにボールを追いかけ始める。切り替えが早いのか、ただ元気なのかわからないけど、ウジウジする子は少ないです。躾の部分ではほぼ皆無なので、そこが最大の難点ですが。笑

　けれど発見がたくさんあり、楽しく指導させていただいています。

　こんにちは。

　ようやく、ダブリンでもサッカースクールを開催することができました。これはその時の映像を撮ってもらったので編集したものです。NZ,CAD,AUSでも開催してきましたが、ダブリンが一番時間がかかりました。でも良かった。今までの経験と、新しい事への挑戦を忘れず、子ども達にはこれまでと同様、サッカーの楽しさを伝えていければと思っています。

My debut match in Ireland

I officially came back to the football world as a player in Dublin, Ireland as I made the first appearance in the Irish local leagues tonight.
It was really intense, physical and rough and saw loads of contacts and sometimes heavy collisions throughout the game. Obviously the pressure I felt in the game was much more intense than it looked from outside. But got to snatch 3 points in an important game. Can't ask for anything more than that today. 
I reassured today that football was a sport to play, not a sport to watch from stands.

　今日、アイルランドでようやく登録が完了して選手としてプレーできました。写真はだいぶブレてますが・・。

　試合が終わって正直に感じたのは、やっぱりまだまだサッカーは自分の中ではプレーしている時が一番楽しいという事。コーチングをしている時よりも、CLの試合を見ているよりも。下部リーグですが、試合内容は本当に激しい。今までのどの国のリーグよりもぶつかり合いが多い気がします。プレッシャーも外から見るより以外に早い。体中が痛いし、この感覚は久々です。

　しかし今日は勝てたことが一番。次はゴールを目指してやっていきたいですね。

The first challenger has arrived.

　こんにちは。

　今回はある選手について。

　彼は私が選手サポートをしてから初めてのアイルランドでの挑戦者である小島選手。

　大学時代は関東２部リーグでプレーし、大学を２年休学してカナダを経由して今、アイルランドでプロを目指してトライアル中です。アイルランド７部、４部での練習参加が評価され、現在アイルランドプロリーグ２部ShelbourneFCにてテスト中。

　一度はプロの夢を諦めかけた選手が、ヨーロッパの地で再びのそのチケットが取れる位置まで来ました。人生で大きなチャンスはそう毎年来るわけではありません。なんとか夢を掴んでほしいです。

Ryuusei Kojima, who have played in the second division of Kanto regional university league in Japan, and now taking two years off from his university in Japan to chase his dream that becomes a pro. He hit few training sessions with local clubs in Dublin and performed well. He is currently training with the U19 side of Shelborne FC to see weather he is an eligible for trainings with the first team.

Hope he will get 'the ticket' and make his dream comes true.

Brissy Soccer Academy in Dublin!!

Hi, guys.

Finally, I got to the first soccer practice of my own academy in Ireland. It took me more than 2 months to get here that was much longer than I had expected as it only took me a month to get to the first session in Vancouver last year.

There were loads of hassles in the process of it, but got to pave the way throught somehow. I only had 5 kids yesterday, but it was a great start for my academy with the good practice that every kid loved it.  We will constantly hold it every Sunday morning.

And last Saturday, I accompanied the U9 team for a match for the first time. It was exciting to see the boys play against another local soccer club in the clear sky!! After all, we got hammered by them with countless goals conceded during the match, but no parents and coaches never blamed the boys for the disappointing loss. We managed to encourage them to back by throwing positive words. They are only 8 years old. We have nothing to be pessimistic about it.

Moreover, it was the Mother's day yesterday in Ireland. I didn't know the day is celebrated on various days in the world. In Japan, it is celebrated in May as many countries do. I was working at the restaurant all day yesterday and got to see lots of people celebrate the day with their "moms". It was a crazily busy day, but I felt like my heart got refined by those heartful scenes.

showing your gratitude to your parents is sometimes awkward, but doing nothing doesn't tell anybody how thankful you are. 

　

　こんにちは。

　昨日やっとここダブリンでも、自分自身のサッカースクールを開催することができました。嬉しいですね。昨日はお試しということで、５人の子ども達が集まってくれました。ちょうど昨日は、サマータイムに入る日だったので、終わった頃に時間を間違えてきたりしてましたが、少しずつ人数的には浸透していっているようで、これから継続して日曜日の午前中に開催することになりそうです。

　そして土曜日には、いつも指導しているU９の子達の試合に初めて帯同。試合は格上のチームでボロボロでしたが、最後に向こうのコーチまでもがポジティブな言葉をかけてくれ、ネガティブな言葉は試合内外で一度も聞かなかったです。親御さんたちも皆、子ども達を必死に鼓舞しようと言葉を選びながら声をかけて試合を見守ってくれていましたね。まだまだ８歳。これからです。

　昨日は同時にアイルランドでの母の日でした。レストランで働いていましたが、たくさんの家族連れ、親子がお母さんにごちそうしている姿を見て、ハッとした自分がいました。感謝の気持ちを素直に形にして伝える。忙しい日でしたが、良いシーンをたくさん見ることができて心が洗われましたね。自分も親には感謝していますし、自分なりに恩返ししていかないといけないですね。

Coaching licence in Ireland and UEFA

　今日は少しアイルランドのコーチングライセンスについて。

　こっちに来た大きな理由としてUEFAコーチングライセンスの取得がありました。できればC級まで取りたいと考えていたんですが、「C」というカテゴリーは実は曖昧で、正式にUEFAという冠がつくライセンスは「B」からのようです。それ以下は、それぞれのUEFA加盟国内の国によって委ねられているようで、アイルランドも「C」というのが去年にできたみたいです。

　値段は６００ユーロで半年ほど取得に要します。それまではKick start１，２というコーチングライセンスの入り口的な資格があるようで、そこからいきなり「B」にいくには難しいということで、間に「Cライセンス」を新たに作ったのがアイルランド。恐らく、他の国もまた違う制度が「B」のカテゴリーに行くまであると思います。

　そして「B」が終われば「A」、最後に「UEFA Pro」という日本でいう「S級」のライセンスで、ヨーロッパのプロクラブを指揮するのに必要な資格に辿り着けます。

　そして、アイルランドのBライセンス以上を有しているコーチの数が、他のサッカー先進国であるドイツ、スペイン、イタリアなどに比べると圧倒的に少ない事実があります。単純に数だけでいうと、スペインで24000人、ドイツ、イタリアは30000人。それに比べ、アイルランドは1100人。

　人口や、サッカー人気もあるでしょうが、一番の理由はかかるコストの問題。これら３か国に比べて、ライセンスにかかるコストが倍以上高いのがアイルランド。これではコーチになろうとはとても思わないし、それだけ苦労してライセンスを取っても、その恩恵を受ける環境が乏しいのもアイルランドの現状のようです。

  実際の値段は「A」が3040ユーロ、「Pro」が7550ユーロ、これがスペインだと、それぞれ1200と3399ユーロです。実に５５％も安い。ドイツに至っては前者が530で後者が1510ユーロと80％も安い。国が違うだけで同じライセンスを取るのにこれだけ費用が違うって異常です。

　アイルランドでライセンスを取る意味が少しずつ薄れてきています。

Surely such a step would be welcomed with open arms by the very people this is geared towards helping climb the coaching ladder, the coaches themselves? Wrong.

It has already caused heated debate and outrage among Irish football coaches across social media, with some cynics labelling it as nothing more than a “money racket”.

Up until the introduction of the new ‘C’ licence the cost of gaining entry onto the FAI’s youth cert was €300.

However, anyone who has recently completed said course will now be asked to shell out an extra €125 for what is described as a bridging course to include the new ‘C’ licence material.

This is where things not only get complicated but controversial also.

While those eligible for the bridging course will end up paying a total of €425 to achieve their ‘C’ certificate, any coaches who have not yet reached this stage of the ladder and wish to book a position on the ‘C’ licence coaching course are being asked to pay a staggering €600.

In layman’s terms, this means some coaches will be paying an extra €175 to achieve the same credentials as other coaches…how can this be fair?

Why should we care about the cost of such courses? Maybe you have no intention of ever stepping into the world of football coaching and, after all, the men and women booking these courses are obviously passionate and interested in doing so.

At present we have close to 800 qualified UEFA ‘B’ licence coaches in the Republic of Ireland, while there are just 300 or so coaches who hold the UEFA ‘A’ licence.

Riordan compared these figures to Spain where there are almost 24,000 UEFA ‘B’, UEFA ‘A’ and UEFA pro licence coaches, while Italy and Germany have roughly 30,000 each.

So what are the reasons for such disproportionate figures aside from the population? The simple answer is cost.

In Ireland, the UEFA ‘A’ licence costs €3040 to sit while the UEFA Pro course costs €7550. In Spain, the same courses cost €1200 and €3399 respectively. That’s 55% cheaper.

Reigning world Champions Germany charge €530  to take part in the UEFA ‘A’ licence with the UEFA Pro costing €1510. That’s 80% cheaper than what is being charged by our Football Association.

And the vast majority of coaching jobs in Ireland simply reward coaches with experience for their CV as they are unpaid positions and when asked about his experiences since gaining the youth cert, the coach informed us this: I had paid coaching employment for four months but even that was only expenses and enough for a take away on the way home after ONE of the three sessions we had during our week!

Already clear the strain this coach is under in his quest to climb the coaching ladder in Ireland I inquired further as to the sacrifices he has had to make just to reach this middle tier of the education system. His response was brutally honest.

"It has been a strain on my relationship. It has also been a serious financial strain as I was unemployed and every spare bit of money I had was spent to pay for my badges and traveling to and from training and matches to gain my experience to move on up the Coach Education Ladder.

I have had to miss out on family events and holidays etc. but in return the FAI seem to be making it so much harder for us coaches who don’t have a name in football or move in the right circles to be able to succeed!

I have and I will be going abroad for two reasons… 1 – The cost, obviously in the financial climate we are currently in we have to make savings where possible, especially as clubs here in Ireland don’t pay their coaches and 2 – I have been told that when you go abroad you are treated the same as anyone else no matter what your history is within the game or what circles you move in!".

I totally agree with every thing in the article, it is a great piece… some of this countries best and most experienced coaches do not have a UEFA license, just because a coach has a license certainly does not make them a better coach… currently to be a coach in the league of Ireland you have to have at least an A or B licence but from the horror stories about how kids are being treated in the LOI under 17’s with a certain club proves that having a licence does not make you as qualified as you think to deal with kids

Elite Performance Academy in Dublin

 

Things are progressing little by little and day by day to where I'd like to get to...starting from zero connection as always in a new country.

Time had flown by as ever. Two months has already passed since I touched down in Ireland.

It was great to be involved in a training session of Elite Performance Academy that has just been established and running few months in Dublin. I got to see many promising players with unlimited potentials that would flourish in every respect in the future. Hopefully, I could give them a helping hand for their bright football career ahead!!

And also, I'm personally inspired a lot by the young players and again realized tons of things in coaching them. 

  いつものようにゼロから始めて２か月、少しずつアイルランドでも前進しています。アジア人はゼロ。こういう環境が成長させてくれます。

　ダブリンのElite Performance Academyというプライベートサッカーアカデミーに最近コーチとして携わっています。彼らはまだ１４歳。こう見ると、174㎝の私はすごく低くみえます。ダブリンで２か月、何もないところから始めて、少しずつサッカーに関わる時間が増えていっています。知らない土地で、ゼロから始めるのは本当にパワーを使いますが、成長させてくれる劇薬なのは間違いないです。

　若い彼らの今後に、少しでも成長の手助けができればと思っていますし、彼らのパワーに触発され、また色々と気づかされながら共に成長していけたらと思っています。

 

The 7th week in Ireland

Hi guys.

I can't believe that it's already been in the 7th week since I landed in Ireland.

Recently, I've been working in the daytime at a restaurant as a waiting staff and go straight to the coaching job from the evening for a team of U9. And also I've assisted some Japanese players for trials in Ireland little by little. 

The reason why I've been hired as a coach is thanks to Tony Sheridan, who is a former Irish international and had been playing for Coventry city FC in the English Premier League back then in 1991 to 1995. After the spell, he came back to Ireland and played for some club in the Irish football league before he took off his boots. I luckily got to know his through the coach of Dublin Bus FC where I announced in the previous entry of this blog that I had signed with as the coach and Tony are brother. Hopefully, I get to have more opportunities and expand more connections to link prospective Japanese players with pro/amateur clubs in Ireland.

And I'm a bit having a hard time integrating the kids that I'm coaching. They are a group of 12 at the age of 8. It's way harder than it sounds to coach them. haha But it is also fun playing with them for sure.

I also have to consider of when I take courses for an UEFA coaching license. That's one of the biggest reasons that I came here and about time to think about it seriously as the time I can stay is limited which is at best a year or a bit longer. I will have to start from the lowest license, but want to acquire as high one as I can in the period of time that I can stay in Ireland.

 

　もうすぐアイルランドに来て２か月が経とうとしています。早いですね。

　最近はコーチングの仕事も始まり、昼はレストランでウェイターをしながら、夜はコーチングやチーム練習に参加。そして、アイルランドのサッカーに興味がある選手のサポートも少しずつですがさせて頂いています。

　コーチングは、今一緒に仕事させて頂いているTony Sheridanのおかげで、色々と繋がりができてきました。彼は、元プレミアの選手（Coventry city FCで91－95年までプレー）で、その後アイルランドに戻ってきて、現在のアイルランド１部リーグで活躍しました。彼とは、先日契約させて頂いたDublin Bus FCの監督がDarren Sheridanという方で、Tonyとは兄弟ということで紹介して頂きました。これからは、アマチュア、プロのカテゴリーでさらに選手のサポートもしていければと考えています。

　コーチングの仕事も、U9の子達を指導していますが、やはりいきなり来た日本人が、やんちゃなアイルランドの８歳児の１０数人のグループを束ねるのはそう簡単ではありません。まだまだ改善させていくところばかりです。

　そしてそろそろ、UEFAコーチングライセンスについても取得を考えていかなければいけません。生活も落ち着いてきたので、しっかりと調べて、受講し、この１年という間の中で、できるだけ上のライセンス取得を目指していきます。

英語上達についての私の考え How you improve your English.

Today's topic is about how you improve your English. Why is it? Because I am often asked the same question that how I have improved my English. And also being asked by many English learners which part of English is more important in English learning, its vocabulary or its grammer.. This is a very familiar question to every English learner in Japan, I guess.

First of all, I am not a native English speaker and I still think that I am far away from the level of native speakers in English. Maybe some people think I have a good English, but of course it is not perfect cuz I was born and raised in Japan till at the age of 22 and went overseas after that. But from my experiences in the past, I think those two parts of English are definitely important if you are eager to master the language. Either way, as long as you are a human being, you'll think that you want to make your English better no matter how good of English you have acquired. Once you hit a certain good level of English, you'll notice that its vocabulary and grammer are  an iron necessity.

In addition, you might have to put some efforts in your accent when you speak English. As a matter of course, everyone has their own accents, but especially for Japanese, it'll be hard to fix and might take a long time. In my case, I hadn't realized that I had a strong accent in an indistinct voice until in the third year of my overseas life. Back then, some specific alphabets bother me big time, for instance, "L" and "R", "th" and "v"!! Most of the words with those letters had stressed me out every time I spoke to someone cuz they would alway ask me to say again!!

But once the problems got solved in my English, that gave me a huge confidence in speaking English.

So, I strongly recommend to spare much time to have the neutral accent that everyone clearly understands what you speak.    

 

　今日は少し英語学習について書こうと思います。というのも、よく記事で見たり、人に聞かれる「文法と単語、どっちが大事？」という決まり文句のような質問。これに少し疑問を持ったからです。

　私自身の英語レベルは、２年前の一時帰国中にぶっつけ本番で受けたTOEICが850点でした。あくまでTOEICのスコアですし、実際にしっかり準備をしたわけでもない、さらにspeakingのテストがないTOEICでは、自分の英語力がどれだけの物かここで皆さんにお伝えすることは難しいです。ので、偉そうな事を言うつもりはないです。あくまで私の意見として。

　そして冒頭の質問に戻りますが、文法と英単語のどっちが大事なのか、という質問ははっきり言って両方大事です。というのもある程度のレベルまで達すると、人間は欲深い生き物ですから、もっと完璧に話したいと思うのが普通だと思います。結果的に両方しっかりと理解していないと、ネイティブスピーカーと対等に話すことはできません。

　そして忘れてほしくないのが、発音の矯正です。日本語と英語の発音の仕方は全く異なるので、この発音をどうにかしないといけない。私も海外３年目くらいでようやく発音の大事さに気づき、自分で矯正していきました。今では聞き返されることはほとんどなくなり、オーストラリア人訛りとからかわれることが常です。が、これが英語を話すことに対しての躊躇がなくなり、自分の話す英語に自信がついていきました。それまでは、ところどころ伝わらない発音があり、積極的に話せない自分がいて、それが英語上達の障害になっていました。発音が悪いと、話している相手も次第に顔が怪訝になり、こいつは英語が話せないというレッテルが貼られることもあります。

　私が特に矯正したのが、「L」と「R」、「TH」、「V」の発音でした。これを毎日意識的に独り言でブツブツ話している内に、自然に変わっていきました。今は有料でレッスンなど受けなくても、YOUTUBEでたくさんの優良動画から学ぶことができます。そして新しい単語を覚える時は必ず、その単語の発音も同時にマスターすることを心がけています。せっかく覚えてテストで書けても、実際に会話で使えなければ意味はないですから。

　「単語」、「文法」だけに焦点を置くのではなく、「発音」もマスターすることをお勧めします。純日本人の私でもできたのですから、皆さんも必ずできるはずです。

Let me announce an awesome news today. 　

I've signed with Dublin Bus FC in Leinster senior league. They currently play in the 4th tier of the Irish football and now battling in the promotion zone to the 3rd tier. 
As I've done that in AUS, NZ, CAD and some others before, I took action to find a football team who I can play for by myself with no friends here. But now I've had a team and made friends through the most popular sports in the world.

Now I perceive that I'm not only playing for myself but also playing for others who I would like to play for, for instance, the coaches and team staffs who are kind and nice to me. At the same time, I feel so blessed with good encounters and luck. It's not only on the field, but also off the field as well.

Playing football might be the only way for me to get things easier in a new country. It has helped me a lot establish myself in my whole life.

And After the Thursday's training, I had some intriguing stories from the coach. He told me that the players who playing in the Leinster league has been checked up by the national league of Ireland and can be scouted and called up for your appearance at their trainings as a trial. There's a massive opportuty all around in the leagues as long as you play there.

I'll give you a good example. The Irish champion last year, Dundalk FC got qualified for the play-offs for the Champions league and made it to the play-off finals against the Polish champions, Legia Warszawa. Unfortunately, they got defeated by Legia, but made it through to the Europe league and fought in the group with the Dutch and Russian giant, AZ and Zenit respectively.

Even in the third tier of the Irish league, some players get paid unofficially and play as a semi-professional. those stories were kind of an eye-opener for me. I to be honest wanted to know about it when I was younger!!

So I just wanted prospective young name-less players in Japan to know about the possibity this country has. As a matter of course, it all depends on how good you are, but it is definitely worth a go if you are confident of your ability to make it though. 

 

  今日、Dublin Bus FCというアイルランドリーグ4部のチームと契約しました。練習参加して２回目の今日、練習後にサインしたいと伝えられ、すごく歓迎して必要としてくれたので決めました。正直、そこまで本気でサッカー選手としては準備していなかったので、まだまだ体力面で不安はありますが、ヨーロッパという地、そしてチームメート、コーチ陣、スタッフの温かさに、「このチームでプレーして貢献したい」と駆り立てられました。やるからには全力で選手としても再スタートです。順調にいけば、クリアランスが下りて、今週から試合で出られるかもしれません。

　このチームは現在、昇格争いの真っただ中で現在２位。上位２チームが３部へと昇格できるようなので、責任は大きいです。さらに２つカップ戦が残っているようで、１つは日本の天皇杯のような１，２部チームとも試合ができるチャンスがある大会です。

　さらに、帰りの車中。監督に家まで送ってもらっている間にいくつか興味深い話を聞けました。１つは、常に１，２部のプロクラブがスカウティングに来ていること。結果を出せば、練習に呼ばれプロになるチャンスが転がっている事。実は１，２部は春秋制で３部以下は逆の秋春制でリーグが行われています。だから３部以下で活躍すれば、春から始まるプレシーズンに呼ばれると。さらに英語圏ですし、今は外国人枠がないドイツに、ワーホリを使ってプロを目指す日本人選手が増えているようですが、ここアイルランドも選択肢に入れる価値は多分にあると思います。ヨーロッパでプロになるチャンスがあり、英語も学べるチャンスがある。しかもヨーロッパ。ワーホリも取得可能。すべて条件が揃っていると思うのは私だけでしょうか。

　さらに、１部の優勝チームはCL予備予選から出場できます。今年はDandalk FCが優勝し、予備予選２，３回戦を突破して最後のプレーオフでポーランドのレギア・ワルシャワに敗れて本選出場を逃しました。その後ヨーロッパリーグに回り、オランダのAZやロシアのゼニトと対戦しています。

　そして先週私が練習参加したCrumlin Unitedが所属する３部リーグはセミプロのカテゴリーで、週に数百ユーロもらいながらプレーしている選手が多いようです。プロを目指すならまずはこの3部か４部の上位クラブでキャリアをスタートしたいところ。

　今日聞いた話は本当に目から鱗のようなでした。軽い気持ちで練習参加したのが、話の大きさに驚き、もっと早くそして若い時に知りたかったなと。このブログが、若い選手達の将来の選択肢の一つとして、アイルランドを考えるきっかけになればと思って書きました。これからも情報は正しく伝えていきます。３部以下のチームであれば１年のどのタイミングであっても契約は可能なので、興味がある方はご連絡ください。

It's been a month in Ireland.

Hi, guys.

Things are starting to settle down as it's been already a month since I landed in Ireland.

First of all, I got to open a bank account, finally. Yay!! I have no idea why it took me a month to open cuz I did the exact same thing in Vancouver, Canada on my third day!! It was such a hassle this time, to be honest. However, I still have one more last thing to do in early March - you must register with immigration if you are a non-EU national that costs you 300 Euro, which is outrageous!!

And there is one announcement about myself. I've been introduced by Mr Nishijo who is a host of an event called Football English Session at Ritsumeikan University in Osaka. It gives us an opportunity to touch a practical English experience by playing football coached by a former A-leaguer Hiro Moriyasu.

The event will be starting in April. I will be able to pass on the further details to you.

 

  早いものでアイルランドに来てから１か月。だいぶ生活も落ち着いてきました。

  まずは銀行の開設が昨日できたこと。ワーホリで、語学学校などには一切行っていないので、サポートしてくれる人がいなくて大変でしたが、なんとかなりました。あとは外国人登録が３月に予約しているので、それが済めば生活はやっと落ち着くかなと。

  ここまでの順番としては、家探し→携帯契約→仕事探し→仕事決定→PPSナンバー取得→TAX登録→銀行開設。といった流れで今のところ来ています。ワーホリ相談・サポートも行っていますので、ワーホリをお考えの方は気軽にご連絡ください。

The third week in Ireland

Hi, guys.

Three weeks have passed!! But I could say it's been only 3 weeks, though. That's because I've been overseas for many years. For me, but don't get me wrong, I feel like all the western countries I've ever stayed for months or years have kind of similar vibe - city, buildings, society and infrastructure so on. I've got enough of those experiences..Lol

But this week, I took a good step forward that I got to play football with locals for the first time in Dublin. It had only 60mins in the game, but had a head start with one assist. The first half was not what I had expected from myself cuz I wanted to show what I could do on the field, but I kind of kept spinning the wheel and didn't know how to get it on the right track. But gradually I got used to the game tempo with better touches on the ball as time rolled over.

But another tragedy happened after the game! I realized that there was a pair of trousers stolen during the game on, and it was mine... Shoot!! I lost my phone(it's not a smart phone) and house keys!!! My Samsung tablet got stolen the other week as well, man... Life in Dublin is tough for Asians.

And yesterday, I went to a bank to open an account, but found out that I must've made an appointment before I applied for it, and asked them to put my name on the waiting list and was told that the earliest date would be 21st of Feb, what a fuck!? How long do you guys keep me wait for just opening a bank account? Can't believe it..

A hassle pops up one after another...Sick of it!! 

 

  やっと、三週間か、もう三週間。今の気持ちは前者です。結構長くいると思うのは、今までの海外経験が長いからでしょうね。国は違えど、欧米諸国は私からすればどこも似ているので。すでに飽きているのかもしれません。笑

今週は、まずアイルランドで初のサッカー。知人の紹介でアイルランドのチームに入れてもらい試合ができました。30分ハーフでしたが、長くサッカーはしてなかったので、レベル的にも久しぶりのスタートには良かったです。最初は魅せようと空回りしましたが、ゴールにも絡めてチームメートの信頼は少しは掴めたかなと。

しかしその試合後また盗難に。試合中にベンチに置いてあった自分のズボンがパクられるという。。安い携帯と、家の鍵がなくなってしまい、色々と大変でした。タブレットもやられたし、ほんと盗難が多い。並みの精神力では暮らしていけません。今のところ。

そして肝心のPPSナンバーが届き、さぁやっと銀行開設と思いきや、今度は国税局に税金対策の登録しなさい、と。さらに銀行開設には予約が必要で、一番早い日にちが今月２１日・・。もうどうでもいいや、です。ほんと。開設できるのはいつになるのか、全く見当も付きませんが、給料が支払われないのは働いていて辛いですね。アイルランドは週払いなので。

と、まぁ毎週毎週、中身の濃い１週間を過ごさせてくれるダブリン。これも良い経験です。

The second week in Ireland.

Hi, guys.

It's been two weeks since I landed here.

Things are still in progress, but surely advancing little by little. I'm still struggling to get used to the Irish accent, though...

This week, I went to acquire a PPS(Personal public service) number at the city office with some troublesome documents required to bring in for the application of it. I got this kind of number in Canada to start working, but its process was way easier than here in Ireland. I heard that the system to get a PPS has just changed to a way that takes more time for us. 

All you need to do for it first is to find a job and ask them for an official letter to prove that you have been hired by them. After that, you'll get ready to go to the office. However, it will take 5 working days to be delivered to your post and in the meantime, you wouldn't be allowed to get paid as you don't have the number yet.

It's very frustrating, but only time can fit it, so just wait till it is delivered!!

And today, I got to visit the Japanese school of Ireland in Dublin where Japanese kids have raised in the country learn Japanese. And we got to discuss the possibility to introduce a soccer session into the curriculum from the new term that is starting in April. 

It still remains undefined and there's a pile of hurdles to pass to get it off the ground. But We have got lots of positives out of the meeting. 

Step by step, little by little. Don't let it stagnate, let it advance!!

 

  こちらに来て２週間が経ちました。

色々と少しずつですが前進しています。アイルランドのアクセントにも少しずつ適応しているような、まだ慣れないような・・・。

今週は、PPSナンバーという、アイルランドで仕事をするには必ず必要な社会保障番号というのをようやく手続きしに行くことができました。カナダの時は来て２日目に取得できていたこの番号。国が変われば当然制度やプロセスも変わるので、厄介です。アイルランドは最近システムが変わり、日本人にとっては非常に面倒な手続きになってしまいました。ワーホリで来ている方は、まずは仕事を見つけるのが一番先にすること。その後に仕事先からレターを出してもらい、必要書類と共に市役所のようなところで申請です。

１週間ほどで届くとのことでしたが、カードが届けば、銀行の口座を開くことができ、給料が受け取れる。だからこの作業が終わらないといくら働いても給料は払われない。もちろん、銀行が開ければ、今まで働いた分はしっかり振り込まれるけど、自分の手元には形として手に入らないので注意です。

そして今日、ダブリンにある日本語補習校にもお邪魔して、色々とサッカースクール開催に向けたミーティングをすることができました。日本人が少ない国で行うことは、今までよりも難しいチャレンジになることは入国する前から分かってた事。大事なのは今までできたから同じようにうまくいくだろうという過信しすぎないこと。一段飛ばしでも可能だったこれまでとは違い、階段を一段でもしっかりと登れていることを感じられるかが大事。停滞ではなく前進は間違いなくしてる。自分のペースで焦らずに進んでいきます。

The Australian Open in 2017

Roger Federer Australian Open winning Speech 2017 & Trophy Presentation

Let me leave this entry here to remind me of this touching prize-giving ceremony in the Australian Open 2017. 

I think this story started from the accolade of the same tournament in 2009 when Nadal won the title back then.　At his winning interview, Nadal felt sorry about winning over Federer cuz he saw Federer shed tears of disappointment on his defeat in the full set match against Nadal just before Nadal took the mic.

But this time, Federer also felt sorry for beating Nadel in the final. And in the entire speech of Roger, he turned back to see Nadal frequently when he was speaking. And he continued that "I would have been still happy if I had lost to Nadal today. And tennis is a tough sport cuz there is no draws in it. If there was, I would have been happy to accept the draw and share the trophy with Nadal, really".

They are such humble and gracious men and one of the greatest rivalry of all time in all sports on the planet. 

　ちょっと感動しすぎてしまったのでブログに記録として置いておきます。

　このインタビューは先日終わった全豪オープンでフェデラーが見事復活優勝を遂げた際の、表彰式でのものです。この前に準優勝だったナダルのインタビューも併せて見るとなお、感動的です。もっと言うと、2009年の全豪決勝後のインタビューから。

　2009年では、優勝したナダルが最後のインタビューで、フェデラーがその前に準優勝インタビューで悔しくて涙して話せなくなりました。その後のインタビューでナダルが最初にフェデラーを気遣い、「優勝してしまってごめん」と話してからインタビューが始まりました。

　そして今回、ナダルが準優勝インタビューでフェデラーの復活優勝を謙虚に称え、その後の優勝インタビューでフェデラーが、「テニスは本当にタフなスポーツ。引き分けがないんだから。今日、ラファ（ナダル）になら負けていたとしてハッピーだったと思う。それに、もし引き分けがあるのなら、優勝を二人でシェアしたかった。」

　二人のライバル関係は、他のスポーツにも色々なライバル関係が存在しますが、こんなに謙虚に、紳士にお互いを公に認め合うことは珍しいのではないでしょうか。だから見ている側も他にはない感動をそこに見いだせるのかもしれませんね。私も間違いなくその一人です。
