❏　理由02／抗生剤は、体内のビフィズス菌などの有用菌も全滅してしまうので、病気の治癒に必要な免疫力を低下させてしまうと理解しているから

市販薬に添付された説明書を呼んでみると、多くのケースで「症状の緩和」の一語が確認できます。

あるドクターの場合、
「風邪をひいたら周囲の人にうつさないために、まずは自宅で安静にすることが大事。

そのため、ウイルスが空気中に潜むこの季節こそ、日常から体によいものを摂取し（過食は逆効果！）、上手にストレスを解消し、よく眠ることが大切。

Young people become increasingly rare by the declining birthrate and a growing proportion of elderly people in future Japan. 　企業の人事担当者に「どういう学生が欲しいか」と尋ねれば、「自分で考え積極的に新しいことを提案できる人」、「失敗を恐れずチャンレンジ精神が旺盛な人」という答えが返ってくるはずだ。紋切り型と言えばそうだろうが、いつの時代でも企業はこういう若者を求めている。

　では実際の若者は、こうしたクリエーティブな資質やチャレンジ精神をどれだけ持っているのだろうか。2010～14年に各国の研究者が実施した『世界価値観調査』では、「新しいアイディアを思いつき、クリエーティブであることを大切にしている」と「冒険してリスクを冒すこと、刺激のある生活を大切にしている」という項目について、自分が当てはまるかどうかを聞いている。＜図１＞は、日本とアメリカの20代の回答をグラフにしたものだ。

　クリエーティブ志向の肯定率（黄色枠）は、日本が50.9％、アメリカが73.9％となっている。冒険志向はもっと差が大きく、両国では倍以上の開きがある（日本23.1％、アメリカ55.8％）。あくまで自己評定の結果ではあるが、日本はアメリカに比べて若者のクリエーティブ志向や冒険志向が低い。世間でよく言われることと合致している。





これはアメリカとの比較だが、もっと多くの国を含めた世界全体での日本の位置付けを見てみよう。＜図２＞は、右軸にクリエーティブ志向、縦軸に冒険志向の肯定率をとった座標上に、59の国を配置したグラフだ（英仏は調査に回答せず）。

　日本は最も左下にある。若者のクリエーティブ志向・冒険志向は世界で最低だ。諸外国の群れから大きく外れ、その低さは際立っている。

　先程比較したアメリカはちょうど真ん中くらいで、それを上回る社会も結構ある。ナイジェリア、ガーナ、南アフリカ、フィリピンなどの発展途上国だ。こうした社会では、若者のクリエーティブ志向や冒険志向が強くなるのだろうか。

　お隣の韓国は日本と近い位置にあると思いきや、そうではない。この国では、冒険志向の若者の比率が高い。日本以上の超学歴社会で、一流企業に入るには英語力や海外留学経験が必須だと言われている。国内の就職が厳しいので、活躍の場を国外に求める若者も多い。韓国の若者の冒険志向（外向き志向）が反映されている。

　これに比べて日本の若者は、すっかり委縮している。社会的な統制が強いはずの旧共産圏以上だ。上の図を経団連の幹部が目にしたら、複雑な思いを禁じ得ないだろう。もっと学生の創造力やチャレンジ精神を鍛えて欲しいと大学に要請してくるかもしれない。

　しかし企業の側も、若者の扱いについて少し反省したほうがいい。クリエーティブな人材が欲しいと言いながら、斬新なことを提案したり、商談でイニシアチブを取ったりする若手を「生意気だ」と言って排除していないだろうか。こういう面での年功序列はいまだに幅を利かせている。

　冒険志向の低さは，失敗（道草）に寛容ではない日本社会の思想を反映している。企業の採用は新卒至上主義で、それができなければ翌年から「既卒」の枠に放り込まれて多大な不利益を被る。（新卒枠での）就職活動に支障が出るからと、留学をためらう学生も少なくない。新卒一括採用という、おそらくは日本固有の奇妙な慣行はいまだに是正されていない。履歴書の空白期間をとがめるような社会では、若者の冒険志向は高まらない。

　人間は年齢を重ねると柔軟な思考ができなくなる。守るべき地位や財産を持つようになって、リスクを冒すことは控えるようになる。クリエーティブな発想をして、冒険ができるのは若者の特権で、それを抑えつけるのは大きな損失だ。これからの日本では、少子高齢化で若者はますます希少になる。その人的資源の力を十分に活用することなしに、日本がイノベーション社会に進化することはできない。

「尖閣諸島が中国から攻撃されれば、米軍は必ず防衛する」――。

　米太平洋軍のハリス司令官が２７日、ワシントンでの講演でこう発言したことを、大新聞が大きく伝えていた。だが、額面通り受け取っていいのか。オバマ大統領が２０１４年に来日した際に、「尖閣は日米安保の適用対象」と発言し、安倍首相がそれを強調したこともあり、日本国内では「米軍は尖閣と日本を守ってくれる」が通説になっているが、日米ガイドラインではそうなっていないからだ。

　大メディアはほとんど報じていないが、早大客員教授でジャーナリストの春名幹男氏が、著書「仮面の日米同盟」で「日本防衛」についての日米の認識の違いを資料・文献から暴いている。それによれば、昨年改定されたガイドラインには、例えば、日本語訳では〈日本は、日本の国民及び領域の防衛を引き続き主体的に実施し〉と書かれているが、英語の原文ではこの「主体的」が〈ｐｒｉｍａｒｙ　ｒｅｓｐｏｎｓｉｂｉｌｉｔｙ　（主な責任）〉となっていて、より日本側の責任が重くなっているのだ。



　他にも、日本語訳では〈できる（ｃａｎ）〉と書かれた部分が原文では〈ｍａｙ（してもいい）〉に、〈補完する（ｃｏｍｐｌｅｍｅｎｔ）〉が〈ｓｕｐｐｌｅｍｅｎｔ（補足する）〉になっている。ちなみに１９７８年版のガイドラインでは、英文でも〈ｃｏｍｐｌｅｍｅｎｔ〉が使われていたので、明らかに米側が支援の程度を下げたと読めるのだという。

　ハリス司令官の発言について、あらためて春名氏に聞くと、こう言った。

「オバマ大統領もそうでしたが、ハリス司令官もあくまで言葉だけですから、中国への警告と日本への“リップサービス”と受け止めた方がいいのではないでしょうか。この発言を中国側が脅威と感じるかどうかは、私は懐疑的です。米国が本気ならば、航空母艦が東シナ海から南シナ海に向かう時などに尖閣の横を航行するなどの行動に出るでしょう。１２年に来日したパネッタ米国防長官（当時）に同行した米政府高官は、ワシントン・ポスト紙に対して『岩（の島）をめぐる紛争に米国が巻き込まれるのは認められないだろう』と本音を漏らしている。
日本のメディアの報道をそのまま受け止めるのは、ナイーブ（考えが甘い）すぎると思いますよ」



くしくも２８日、春名氏は外国特派員協会で講演していて、外国人記者などから「なぜ外務省は誤訳をするのか」「なぜ事実がもっと報じられないのか」と疑問を投げかけられていた。ＴＰＰ報告書の日本語訳が原文と違って大問題になってもいるが、日米関係については日本メディアの報道を簡単に信じない方がいい。

2020年頃の実用化を目指して、世界的に開発が加速する自動運転車。その開発競争で今、世界のどの企業がリードし、どこが遅れているのか。その指標となるデータが、米カリフォルニア州の政府当局から発表された。

上の記事によれば、カリフォルニア州の車両局は自動運転技術を開発中の複数企業に対し、走行テストの実施状況などに関する諸データの提出を求めた。対象となるのは、過去14ヵ月間にカリフォルニア州の公道で実施された自動運転車の走行テストだ。

データを提出したのは、グーグル、ダイムラー（メルセデス・ベンツ）、フォルクスワーゲン、日産、ボッシュ、デルフィ、そしてテスラ・モーターズなど。

もちろん各社はカリフォルニア州以外でも走行テストを実施しているはずだが、自動運転の公道テストを行う上で最も環境が整備されているのは同州だ。したがって今回のデータは、やはり各社の開発・テスト状況をかなりの程度まで正確に反映していると見ていいだろう。

トップとそれ以外との差は縮まっていない

提出されたデータを見ると、まず自動運転の走行テストの総距離では、グーグルが圧倒的に他を引き離している。

もちろん、本格的な自動運転の開発を始めたのはグーグルが最初だから、同社がトップに位置することは当然だろう。だが、ここ数年は、日本やドイツをはじめ世界中のメーカーも自動運転に参入し、アピールしてきた。それを考え併せると、今に至ってもなお、これだけの開きがあるのはやや驚きである。

ただし、これだけだと、自動運転のテスト走行距離が長いほど、人による介入回数が多くなるのは当然だ。したがって、より公平に評価するためには、介入回数を走行距離で割った数字を算出する必要がある。それが以下のグラフである。

あらためて言うまでもなく、人による介入回数が少なければ少ないほど、自動運転技術の完成度が高いことを意味する。このグラフを見ても、やはりグーグルが他を圧倒的に引き離して好成績を収めているのが分かる。



テスラはいったい何を考えているのか？

気になるのはテスラが提出したデータである。これを見ると公道上でのテスト走行の総距離、そして人による介入回数のいずれもゼロである。つまりテスラは公道上でのテスト走行を全くしていないことになる。




しかしテスラはすでに他社に先駆けて、「オートパイロット」と呼ばれる部分的な自動運転機能を実用化している（http://gendai.ismedia.jp/articles/premium01/46058）。オートパイロットは先日、日本でも発表されたばかりだ。それなのに公道テストを全くしていないとは、どういうことなのか？

この理由について、冒頭で紹介したワシントン・ポストの記事は、「テスラは恐らくユーザーを実験台（guinea pig）にして、まさに今、公道テストを実施しているのではないか」と見ている。

実際、これまでオート・パイロットを使ってみたユーザーの中には、かなり危険な目にあった人も少なくない。そうしたデータを解析することで、同社はオートパイロット（自動運転技術）の完成度を高めている最中というわけだ。

たとえばオートパイロット機能（ソフト）がリリースされて間もない頃、自動運転中のテスラ車が、高速道の出口が近付くと（ユーザーが命令していないのに）自動的に出口に向かってしまう現象が何度か報告された。その報告を受けて、この問題はオートパイロットの最新バージョンでは解決されたという。

こうしたやり方は、グーグルやフェイスブックなどIT企業が各種ソフトをベータ版の段階でリリースし、ユーザーの反応を見ながら、徐々にソフトを修正し、完成度を高めていく方式を彷彿とさせる。
