Let me ask safety at the airport in Istanbul, please.
I go to Venice via Istanbul from Kansai International Airport by Turkish Airlines at the end of February. There is transit for 11 hours in Istanbul in the case, and moreover for Italy to join my friend, it's female trip alone.

I'm going to arrive at the site in around 6 o'clock in the morning and stay far in the airport, but even if I'll stay long by myself, is it a safe place?

If there is a safe location or a careful point even if I'll stay at the airport in Istanbul long in the way with staying and the airport, could you tell me? Thank you.

When entering a terminal building, Ataturk international TE NO is the one with baggage inspection.

Danger to staying at the airport long by oneself and danger to terrorism are an exception.

Because terrorism can happen if it'll be a short time if it'll be long time.

Even the place where where is such person almost OK but necessary for a dangerous person in the inside, too is the same thing.

It isn't sticking to such person, and when I'm here without being careless about steals carefully at a bustling place, I think I don't say danger in particular.

イスタンブールの空港の安全性について質問をさせて下さい。
2月末にトルコ航空で、関空からイスタンブール経由でヴェネツィアへ向かいます。その際にイスタンブールにてトランジットが11時間あり、しかもイタリアにて友人と合流するため女一人旅です。
現在のトルコ付近での情勢の悪化を受けて、1人でのイスタンブール滞在に若干の不安を感じております。
現地に朝の6時頃に着き、ずっと空港内に留まるつもりですが、1人で長時間滞在しても安全な場所なのでしょうか？
一応ヨーロッパには何度か旅行をしているのですが、今回この経路は初めてで、しかも連日の報道を見て不安になってしまいました。
イスタンブールの空港に滞在した事のある方、空港内で長時間滞在しても安全な場所、もしくは注意点などありましたら教えて頂けませんでしょうか？宜しくお願い致します。

イスタンブール空港は、ごく普通の比較的きれいな首都の空港です。
ＪＴＢの日本語地図をプリントしてみてください。

明るい照明のフードコートもありますし、空いている搭乗口にはベンチがたくさんあり、乗り継ぎを待つお客さんであふれています。

ただし乗り継ぎ便の搭乗ゲートは出発２時間前にならないと確定しませんので、それまでは適宜空席のある搭乗ゲートのどこかで時間をつぶす必要があります。
２時間前にゲートが判明するので、搭乗ゲートに移動して待つことができます。

「快適にすごす」とすれば、有料のラウンジプログラムに加入する方法もあります。

  アタテュルク国際てのはターミナルのビルに入る時にも手荷物検査があるんです。
  
  まあ11時間もすることはありませんが。全行程無料、施設入場の列に並ばずに入れて移動はバスの完全無欠のトランジットツアーがありますが、出たくないなら仕方がねぇ。

  一人で空港に長時間滞在することへの危険性と、テロに対する危険性は別物です。
  
  長時間だろうと短時間だろうと、テロは起こりえますから。
  
  
  まあ、イスタンブール自体はトルコ東部と違って観光都市であり、多くの日本人観光客も訪れています。
  
  イスラム国とトルコの関係は現在の所そこまで悪くなく、またトルコ政府も厳重な警戒をしているでしょうから、テロに関する危険性はそこまで考えなくて良いかと。
  （日本の空港よりはリスクは高いでしょうが、ロンドンやパリなどよりマシかもと言う感じでしょうか？）
  
  
  一方、テロと関係なく、海外の空港という事で日本と比べて色々注意しないといけないのは事実です。
  羽田や成田とは違いますからね。
  
  まあ、イスタンブールの空港で日中であればまず危険を感じることは無いんじゃないかと思いますよ。
  
  ただ、トルコ人は日本人女性に親しみを感じる人が多く、色々話しかけられることが多いと思います。
  「夕方までトランジット（厳密にはトランスファーですが）で滞在するんだ」と答えれば、「こんな場所にそんなにいるなんてもったいない。自分が街を案内してあげる」などと言ってくる人がいるんじゃないかと思います。
  
  そういう人でもほとんどは大丈夫なものですが、中には危険な人もいるのはどこの場所でも同じこと。
  
  そういう人に付いていかず、人通りの多い場所で置き引き等に気をつけて油断せずにいれば、特に危険という事は無いと思います。
  
  まあ、11時間あるならせっかくなので市街に出た方が良いと思いますけどね。

東京電力福島第一原子力発電所の事故で核燃料が溶け落ちた２号機で、原子炉の底の部分に大量の核燃料が残っている可能性が高いことが分かりました。原子炉を透視する特殊な調査で核燃料とみられる大きな影が初めて捉えられたためで、東京電力は核燃料の取り出しに向けて、さらに分析を続けています。

福島第一原発の事故では、１号機から３号機の３基で核燃料が溶け落ちる「メルトダウン」が起き、このうち１号機は、これまでの調査からほとんどの核燃料が原子炉の底を突き抜けたとみられている一方、２号機と３号機では、核燃料がどこにあるのか今も分かっていません。
このため東京電力は、さまざまな物質を通り抜ける性質がある「ミューオン」と呼ばれる素粒子を使って、原子炉をレントゲン写真のように透視する調査を高エネルギー加速器研究機構などと続けています。
その結果、２号機の原子炉の底に大きな黒い影が映っているのが確認され、分析した結果、溶け落ちた核燃料のほとんどが、炉内の構造物とともに原子炉の底にたまっている可能性が高いことが分かりました。溶け落ちた核燃料とみられる影が捉えられたのは、今回が初めてで、こうした影は、原子炉の壁の部分でも確認されたということです。
今回の調査結果は、核燃料をどう取り出すかという廃炉に向けた最大の難関の工程に大きく影響するだけに、東京電力はさらに分析を進めています。

廃炉への影響

「ミューオン」(ニュー粒子)は、宇宙を飛び交っている「宇宙線」と呼ばれる粒子が大気と衝突してできる「素粒子」の一種です。さまざまな物質を通り抜ける性質があるため、建物などを通り抜けたミューオンを観測することでレントゲン写真のように中を透視することができます。
福島第一原発では、去年から強烈な放射線で、人が近づけない原子炉周辺の調査に活用されていて、このうち１号機では、高エネルギー加速器研究機構などの調査で、溶け落ちた核燃料のほとんどが、原子炉の底を突き抜けた可能性が高いことが明らかになっています。
一方、２号機では、名古屋大学などの調査で、核燃料の大部分が溶け落ちた可能性が高いことは分かりましたが、どこにあるかまでは分かっていませんでした。
核燃料がどこにあるかは、廃炉に向けた最大の難関とされる溶け落ちた核燃料を、どう取り出すかという工程に大きく影響します。アメリカのスリーマイル島原発の事故では、溶け落ちた核燃料は、すべて原子炉の中にとどまったため、ここを水で満たしたうえで原子炉の真上から核燃料を取り出しました。水には、放射線を遮る効果があるからです。
しかし今回核燃料の多くが原子炉内にある可能性が高いことが分かった福島第一原発２号機の場合、原子炉が損傷して水漏れが起きているため、水で満たすのは簡単ではありません。国と東京電力は、水で満たさずに核燃料を取り出すことも検討していますが、その場合、作業員の被ばく対策など新たな課題への対応が求められます。
現在の工程表では、５年後の平成３３年までに１号機から３号機のいずれかで核燃料の取り出しを始めることになっていますが、４０年かかるとされる廃炉に向けて、極めて難しい課題が山積しているのが実情です。

Mrs Oiwa shrieked  who judged its form from a mirror, fall in the deranged state and die of a shock the limit. Mrs Oiwa who became a ghost will do that, and keeps rising with "you can bear a grudge and do and complain about unpleasant..., with the selling point of, unpleasant......" at Iemon's bedside every night every night....

Isn't such story general?

The drama which made "the Ghost Story of Yotsuya" an original work in 1964 by some programs is the episode when being produced. そんな“お岩さん”と言えば、「祟り」といったイメージがとても強く、「お岩さんを馬鹿にする、呼び捨てにすると祟られる」といった都市伝説、歌舞伎や映画などを制作する際には、役者やスタッフは必ずお参りしてから撮影する…といった暗黙のルールが存在します。

ところが、「お岩さん＝祟り」だけが一人歩きし、実際には四谷怪談のストーリーを知らない人が思いのほかいるようです。では、四谷怪談とはどのようなストーリーだったのか？まずは一般的なあらすじをお話しします。

四谷怪談～祟りの正体とは！？

物語の舞台は江戸の四谷。田宮家の娘である「お岩」は、浪人「伊右衛門」と結婚させられました。愛があっての結婚ではありませんでしたが、次第にお岩は伊右衛門に惹かれていきます。

しかし、近くに住んでいたお金持ちで伊藤喜兵衛という男の孫娘（お梅）が、男前であった伊右衛門に惚れ込んでしまったのです。「どうにかして孫娘の婿に」…と考えた喜兵衛は、お金に物を言わせ伊右衛門に言い寄ります。

初めは断っていた伊右衛門でしたが、段々とお金に目がくらんでいき、気持ちが変わっていきました。そこで喜兵衛は、お岩に少しずつ毒を盛るよう伊右衛門に指示。伊右衛門はそれを実行すると、知らずに毒を飲み続けたお岩の髪はバラバラと抜けおち、顔は醜くただれていきます。

その姿を鏡で見たお岩は絶叫し、錯乱状態に陥り、その果てにショックで死んでしまうのです。そうして幽霊となったお岩は、毎夜毎夜、伊右衛門の枕元で「うらめしや…うらめしや……」と立ち続ける…

このようなストーリーが一般的ではないでしょうか。

実は、この祟りが実際にあったのです。

外国人も祟られた！？お岩の底力

昭和39年、ある番組で「四谷怪談」を原作としたドラマが制作されたときのエピソードです。出演者の一人であるインド人の役者、エディ・アラブを含めた関係者は暗黙のルールに従い、全員で「お岩お稲荷」にお参りへ行くことになりました。

その場にはもちろん、エディも居合わせたわけですが、「私は日本人ではなく外人なのだから、そんな迷信関係ないじゃないか…ばかばかしい」と笑っていたそうです。

そして、その日の撮影は何事もなく終わりを迎えましたが、次の日にエディの台本が突如紛失。探していたところ、不思議なことにテレビ局の化粧室で台本は見つかりました。あまり気にも留めていなかったエディですが、帰宅途中でゾッとする出来事が起こってしまいます。

車の中で何気なく「四谷怪談」の台本を開いたときのことです。なんとエディのセリフ部分だけ、文字が抜けて真っ白になっていたのです。とても驚いたエディが外の景色に目をやったところ、車はちょうど四谷にさしかかろうとした時だったのです…


他 にも、歌舞伎の「東海道四谷怪談」をプロデュースした堀さんという方が亡くなった（飛び降り自殺）事件や、講談師の一龍斎貞山が怪談話をする際に「お岩稲荷」へのお参りを怠ったために脳卒中で帰らぬ人となるなど、暗黙のルールに背いた者たちへの“祟り”とも思える事例は後を絶ちません。

触らぬ神に祟りなし…それは、四谷怪談のお岩さんでも同じことが言えるのかもしれませんね。

　「現在、動脈硬化の進展は2つの観点から捉えられている」と語るのは、順天堂大学医学部 併任 順天堂東京江東高齢者医療センター循環器内科先任准教授の宮内克己氏。その1つはコレステロールの「量的問題」だという。これは、加齢に加え、喫煙、高血圧、糖尿病などによって、血管内にコレステロールを中心とした老廃物が多く蓄積し、そのため血管内腔が狭くなっていくという問題だ。

　一方、動脈硬化の厄介な点は、コレステロールの量が問題となるだけではなく、「質的問題」が存在することだと宮内氏は指摘する。「コレステロールの蓄積により動脈硬化をきたした血管は脆くなり、破綻しやすくなる」（宮内氏）。蓄積したコレステロール（プラーク；粥腫）が破綻すると血栓ができ、これによって血管が詰まり血流が途絶する。心臓に血液が届かないため、心臓の動きが止まってしまう──。これが心筋梗塞だ。

　心筋梗塞の恐ろしさは、何の前触れもなく、突然発症することである。特に注意すべきは、一度冠動脈疾患（心筋梗塞、狭心症）を起こした人は再発率が高いという点だ。冠動脈疾患の発症から2ヵ月でおよそ1割の人が心筋梗塞を起こす。そして、冠動脈疾患を起こしたことがない人に比べ、起こしたことがある人の死亡率は約15倍と高い1, 2, 3）。

　不思議なのは、わが国の冠動脈疾患による死亡率は欧米の約10分の1と少ない4）ことだが、これは人種や民族の差ではなく、「どこに住み、どのような食生活を送っているかが問題となる」（宮内氏）という。実際、同じ日本人でも、日本に住むよりもハワイ、ハワイに住むよりもカリフォルニアに住むほうが、コレステロール値は高く、冠動脈疾患による死亡率も高いことが分かっている5）。これは、ハワイやカリフォルニアに住むことで動物性脂肪の摂取が高まったためと考えられる。

　コレステロールと心血管疾患との関連を考える上で、興味深い米国の報告がある。若い世代の一般住民約1000人を総コレステロール（TC）値別に4つのグループに分け、30年以上にわたって追跡した貴重なデータである6）。

　その結果を見ると、35年後の時点で、TC値の最も低いグループに比べ、最も高いグループの心血管疾患発症リスクは約3倍高かった（図）。コレステロール値が高いと心筋梗塞や狭心症を引き起こすことが分かるが、「この報告にはもう1つのメッセージがある」と宮内氏はいう。「グラフを見ると20年間はほとんど差がなく、その後徐々に差が開いている。つまり、コレステロール高値の状態が長期間続くと心筋梗塞のリスクが高まるということだ。したがって、毎年検診を受けて、コレステロール値をチェックすることが重要となる」（宮内氏）。

　これまでの大規模臨床試験の結果から、①LDL-C値を下げると確実に冠動脈疾患（心筋梗塞、狭心症）の発症率は下がる7, 8）、②特に冠動脈疾患を発症したことがある人の二次（再発）予防では、LDL-C値は“the lower, the better（低ければ低いほどよい）”7, 8） 、③LDL-C値を下げると、すべての冠動脈疾患と脳卒中（脳出血を除く）の発症を抑制する9）──といった点が明らかになった。

　このように、一度心筋梗塞を起こしても、LDL-C値を下げることで再発を抑制することが可能なため、過去に冠動脈疾患を起こしたことのある人は、生活習慣の改善と薬物療法により、日本動脈硬化学会が定めたLDL-Cの管理目標値「100mg/dL未満」10）を順守することが大切だ。

Is it for some reason that I developed myocardial infarction though the cholesterol level was normal? Is it for some reason a swimming player of an Olympic gold medal candidate was dead suddenly, and that its cause was arteriosclerosis? Danger of the high cholesterol level is pointed out from before, but without treating it, the leaving person isn't little. The opinion to which you say "It's better to have high cholesterol level." will drink and isn't and also prevalent, but is this true? I asked a medical specialist the latest knowledge about fat matter management.

There is a possibility that it's related to a slight of fat matter management that a relation between these LDL - C and dangerous gene isn't recognized by a general person sufficiently.

The 6, 7) there are a chronic kidney trouble (CKD), a cerebrovascular accident and an end arterial disease an artery of a foot blocks up in the dangerous factor watched recently, and which becomes the risk to which these also cause a coronary artery disease.

LDL - C value is low to stop a coronary artery disease, moderate.

When being diagnosed as fat matter abnormal shou, application of drug treatment as well as improvement of a living habit including a meal and movement are considered. When advancing such treatment, it's a way of thinking as "accumulation LDL - C" that it started to be emphasized. This means how long a blood vessel was exposed to LDL of "villain"- C until it'll be an adult after I'm born. Mr. Teramoto commercial use of Teikyo University clinical research center chief explains "When the cholesterol level is high, the death rate rises, but even if it's too low, the data which rises is domestic and abroad for the death rate, and it's fact to exist. This is the phenomenon called "J turn", this is well-founded."

 

 

 

 

I say that the person who has low cholesterol can think low, the sickness was related to death by some shapes because some sickness was held according to Mr. Teramoto. "The cholesterol level was low in our country indeed, and much of the person who has died had sickness of a liver. For example a diabetic is equivalent to a high-risk group, and the management target value of LDL - C will be 120mg/dL non-rise, but Mr. Ishibashi points out "It's the current state that only a person of about half is reaching the target value actually." "I think this has various reasons, but if it's diabetes, attention faces to the way of a blood sugar level, overweight and the blood pressure first, and that consciousness to cholesterol is postponed absolutely can be named as a problem. To control cholesterol grasps such dangerous factor and has an appropriate medical treatment appropriate time, and leads to avoidance of a coronary artery disease." (Mr. Ishibashi).

Mr. Yasushi Sato of Tohoku University Institute of Development Aging and Cancer tumor circulation research field professor, "It's important for a person with developing diabetes, angina and myocardial infarction in particular to continue treating it to cholesterol because risk is very high.", attention is appealed.

　日本動脈硬化学会では脂質異常症（高LDLコレステロール〔LDL-C〕血症など）の診断基準（表）1）を定めているが、「LDL-Cの管理は十分になされていないのが現状だ」と自治医科大学内科学講座内分泌代謝学部門教授の石橋俊氏は指摘する。

　LDL-C値が高いと動脈硬化が進行する──。このことが明らかになったのは、今から約60年前のことだった。以来、“悪玉”と呼ばれるLDL-Cを中心に、コレステロール（脂質）に関する研究が進められてきた。

　わが国の報告によると、LDL-Cを含む総コレステロール値やトリグリセライド（TG）値が上昇すればするほど冠動脈疾患（心筋梗塞、狭心症）のリスクが高まること、“善玉”と呼ばれるHDLコレステロール（HDL-C）値が低いほど冠動脈疾患の合併率が上昇することが判明している（図）2, 3, 4）。

　「しかし、こうしたコレステロールの異常だけが動脈硬化のなりやすさを決めているわけではない」と石橋氏はいう。動脈硬化を引き起こす他の危険因子として加齢、喫煙、高血圧、糖尿病などがあり、LDL-C値が正常であっても、これらの危険因子を多く持っている人ほど冠動脈疾患の発症リスクが高まるからだ5）。過去に冠動脈疾患を発症したことがある人の場合はさらに危険で、LDL-C値が正常でも再発リスクは何倍にも跳ね上がる5）。このLDL-Cと危険因子の関係が一般の人に十分に認知されていないことが、脂質管理の軽視につながっている可能性がある。

　最近注目されている危険因子に慢性腎臓病（CKD）や脳血管障害、足の動脈が閉塞する末梢動脈疾患があり、これらも冠動脈疾患を引き起こすリスクとなる6, 7）。

　脂質異常症と診断された場合、食事や運動を含めた生活習慣の改善とともに薬物療法の適用が考慮される。こうした治療を進める上で重視されるようになったのが「累積LDL-C」という考え方である。これは、生まれてから大人になるまで、血管が“悪玉”のLDL-Cにどれだけさらされたかということを意味する。そして血管内に溜まり続けたLDL-Cが、ある一定の値（臨界点）を超えると、冠動脈疾患を発症すると考えられるようになった8）。喫煙や高血圧、糖尿病などの危険因子を持つ人は、この臨界点が低くなるので、若いうちに冠動脈疾患を発症するリスクが高い。

　「これまでの研究では、LDL-C値が低いほど、冠動脈疾患の新規発症率や再発率が減少することが確認されている9）」（石橋氏）

　一方、世の中には「コレステロール値は高いほうがよい」という説も存在する。

　「コレステロール値が高いと死亡率は高まるが、低すぎても死亡率は高まるというデータが国内外で存在することは事実だ。これは“Jカーブ”といわれる現象だが、これには理由がある」と帝京大学臨床研究センター長の寺本民生氏は説明する。

　寺本氏によれば、コレステロールの低い人は何らかの病気を抱えているために低く、その病気が何らかのかたちで死亡に結びついたと考えられるという。「実際、わが国では、コレステロール値が低くて死亡した人の多くが肝臓の病気を持っていた。高いコレステロール値を下げたために死亡したのではない10, 11）」（寺本氏）。

　したがって、コレステロール値が異常に低すぎる場合は何らかの病気が背景にあると捉え、原因疾患に対して治療を進める必要があるという。

　これまでの研究結果を踏まえ、日本動脈硬化学会では「冠動脈疾患を発症したことがあるかどうか」「他の危険因子（糖尿病、CKDなど）を持っているかどうか」などでカテゴリー分類し、一人ひとりの病態に即したコレステロールの管理目標値も定めている1）。

　例えば、糖尿病患者はハイリスク群に相当し、LDL-Cの管理目標値は120mg/dL未満となるが、「実際は約半分の人しか目標値に到達していないのが現状だ」と石橋氏は指摘する。「これには様々な理由があると思うが、糖尿病だと血糖値や肥満、血圧のほうにまず注意が向き、どうしてもコレステロールへの意識が後回しになることが問題として挙げられる。このような危険因子を把握し、適切な時期に適切な治療を受け、コレステロールをコントロールすることが冠動脈疾患の回避につながる」（石橋氏）。

　東北大学加齢医学研究所腫瘍循環研究分野教授の佐藤靖史氏は「特に、糖尿病や狭心症、心筋梗塞を発症したことのある人は非常にリスクが高いため、コレステロールに対する治療を継続することが重要だ」と注意を呼びかける。

It’s always good advice to be preparing for the future, especially in the case of the United States military as the US continuously provokes other nations.

As Popular Science reported back in 2014, the US Navy had developed a 30-kilowatt laser and mounted it on the USS Ponce, which was stationed in the Persian Gulf at the time. The laser was part of the US Navy’s new Laser Weapon System (LaWS) program, and with a videogame-like controller it had been successfully tested.

In this video, the laser will engage and destroy multiple targets including a drone in mid-air.

昨日、英国国民投票の結果、英国はEUからの離脱を決定しました。これが今後世界にどういう影響をおよぼすかは不透明ですが、はっきりしていることがあります。この事態は「アベノミクスにとどめを刺した」ということです。

 

24日、東京市場で円は一時99円ちょうどまで円高となりました。

日経平均株価は24日終値で14,952.02円と、15,000円台を割り込みました。

これらの数字はは2013年前半の水準であり、いってみれば「アベノミクス開始時の水準まで戻った」といえます。

これはいうまでもなく「単に元に戻った」のではありません。

変態、スケベと英語で言うには？実際に使われる言い方

 

今回は「あいつは変態だよ」のように英語で言う方法を紹介します。

映画のセリフも例に出すので、実際に使われる感覚も分かると思います。

 

 

１．変態、スケベを英語で

変態やスケベを英語で「Pervert(パーバート)」と言います。 
略してPerv(パフ)と呼ぶ事もあります。

ちょっとこの言い方だとあまりに露骨で、本当に変質者のような感じも受けるので、もう少しやわらかい言い方をするなら、

イチローの真骨頂

マーリンズで活躍するイチロー選手が、6月15日（日本時間16日）の対パドレス戦で日米通算4257安打を放ちました。これはピート・ローズが保持していたメジャー通算4256安打の最多安打記録を日米通算ではありますが上回るものです。

42歳になっても衰えを感じさせないイチロー選手。この偉業達成は、彼のあくなき向上心と日々の積み重ねの賜物でしょう。

ローズのヒット数とイチロー選手のヒット数とでは、日米では試合数が違いますから、単純には比較はできないでしょう。「早い時期にイチローがアメリカに来ていたら……」と言う人もいますが、彼が積み重ねてきた記録に変わりはありません。メジャーの記録としては認められないとしても、どの世界でもヒットを積み重ねてきたことは認めてもらってもいいんじゃないでしょうか。

連日、メディアでは“記録更新”のニュースが大きく報じられていましたが、僕は4257安打目のツーベースヒットよりも、ローズとタイ記録に並んだ内野安打が印象に残っています。

１打席目。イチロー選手が放った打球は一塁線上に転がるボテボテのゴロでした。捕手のデレク・ノリスが捕球してすぐに一塁へ送球しましたが、イチロー選手はすでに一塁に到達していてセーフ。

普通の選手であれば、あの打球は諦めてキャッチャーゴロですよ。しかし、それをセーフにするところがイチロー選手の凄いところです。脚力が光った4256本目のヒットはイチロー選手の真骨頂とも言えます。

普通はイチロー選手くらいの年齢になれば“40歳を過ぎているから無理はしない”と、リスクを冒すようなプレーは嫌がりますし、綺麗なヒットを打ちたがります。

しかし、イチロー選手は形にとらわれず、どんな場合でもセーフに結びつけようとしている。このプレースタイルが42歳になった今でもメジャーの第一線で活躍できる理由です­­。

かつて、本人と話したときに­「全てのことができないと僕はダメなんです」と­言っていましたが、­­ 42歳になって全てのことをできる選手はなかなかいません。やはり、年齢とともに脚力や視力などが落ちてくるので、身体のコンディションを維持するのは大変です。

それをできて­いるイチロー選手は天才というよりも、もはや“変態”と言うべきでしょうか（笑）。

日米5000本安打の可能性

今季は限られた出場機会の中で、打率.350、出塁率.422（６月23日現在）と好成績を収めています。

昨年、現地でイチロー選手のプレーを見たときはトップの位置が作れていませんでしたが、今年はしっかりとトップの位置を作って、最後にバットが出てきています。それだけコンディションが良いということなので、彼にはまだまだやってくれそうな雰囲気を感じます。

イチロー選手はメジャー通算3000安打までは残り17本に迫っています。出場機会にもよりますが、おそらく来月頭には達成するでしょう。しかし、僕は更にその先を目指して欲しいと思っています。

これまでイチロー選手が放った4261安打のうち、日本で放ったヒット数は1278本、メジャーで放ったヒットは2983本です。日本では1300安打にも到達していないので、いつか日本に戻ってきてNPB通算2000安打を達成して欲しい。彼は「50歳までプレーヤーとして頑張りたい」と言っているので、その可能性はゼロではありません。

僕はイチロー選手が世界一のプレーヤーだと思っているので、MLB通算3000安打とNPB通算2000本安打の日米通算5000安打という前人未踏の記録を達成する瞬間を見てみたいですね。

Two months ago, when looking at the soaring number of bond issuance cancellations and postponements as calculated by BofA, we commented that it was only a matter of time before the long overdue tide of corporate defaults, held by for so many years by the Chinese government which would do anything to delay the inevitable, was about to be unleashed.

This prediction has indeed been validated and as the FT reports overnight, Chinese bankruptcies have surged this year "as the government uses the legal system to deal with “zombie” companies and reduce industrial overcapacity as part of a broader effort to restructure the economy." In just the first quarter of 2016, Chinese courts have accepted 1,028 bankruptcy cases, up a whopping 52.5% from a year earlier, according to the Supreme People’s Court. Just under 20,000 cases were accepted in total between 2008 and 2015. 

This is surprising because while China’s legislature had approved a modern bankruptcy law in 2007 it had barely been used for years, with debt disputes often handled through backroom negotiations involving local governments.  “Bankruptcy isn’t just about creditor-borrower relations. It also touches on social issues like unemployment,” said Wang Xinxin, director of the bankruptcy research centre at Renmin University law school in Beijing. “For a long time many local courts weren’t willing to accept them, or local governments didn’t let them accept.”

Exit Trigger

At some point -- when exactly is debated -- the U.K. will trigger exit talks by invoking Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty. That will set a two-year clock ticking on negotiations. The relatively short time frame means even supporters of Brexit have argued to hold off until the country has decided what sort of relationship it wants with the rest of the EU.

For the EU and its most powerful leader, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the result presents yet another challenge after years of crisis. EU unity has already been sorely tested by Greece’s seemingly endless debt woes, sanctions on Russia and the Syrian refugee crisis.

Now, Merkel and French President Francois Hollande need to rally confidence in a project increasingly questioned by populists like France’s Marine Le Pen and Geert Wilders of the Netherlands. To Merkel and Hollande, the EU is a symbol of Europe’s resurgence from World War II. But to others it’s resonant of weak economic growth, high unemployment and overbearing regulation.

Tough Talks

Among the first decisions for Merkel and Hollande will be how tough they want to be on the U.K. in the upcoming negotiations, especially as some countries will surely want to make an example of Britain to stop others from leaving. The first indications of their position may come on June 28, when EU leaders meet for the first time since the referendum, although finance ministers could confer as soon as this weekend.

Another key question will be who leads Britain’s negotiations. Cameron, who now presides over a splintered country and party, had already pledged to leave before the next election. But after one of the biggest foreign policy failures by a British prime minister in the modern era, one which put him on the wrong side of the debate from his Conservatives and the majority view in the U.K., it is hard to see him lasting even a year.

While Cameron may give clarity on his future within hours, privately even his opponents have said they want him to stay on for a few months -- an immediate resignation would only spell even more instability. Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, who, like Cameron, had hoped that a referendum would heal Conservative splits over Europe, may lose his job sooner after being accused of scaremongering over the economy.

 

Former London Mayor Johnson is the bookmakers’ favorite to succeed Cameron. Other potential heirs include Justice Secretary Gove and Home Secretary Theresa May. Whoever takes over is likely to seek his or her own mandate with another general election, meaning British voters may have to go to the polls for a third time in two years.

There’s also a question mark over the future of the Brexit lobby and its key figures such asFarage, who were excluded from the official “Leave” campaign. Having led the country to the EU’s exit, it’s unclear whether they will be content to leave exit negotiations to the Conservative government.

The City

One industry particularly under threat is financial services, which employs more than 2 million people nationwide and paid 66 billion pounds ($89 billion) in tax last year. The City of London’s status as a financial capital may now be eroded, especially if the U.K. loses “passporting” rights which allow banks to reside in the U.K. and sell their products and services throughout the EU.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon, who has 16,000 employees in London and other British cities, said this month a vote to leave could mean a quarter of those jobs might be cut. Morgan Stanley and HSBC have made similar noises.

The vote could even set in motion the break-up of Great Britain. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon may now use the decision to revive talk of independence for Scotland, where 62 percent voted to Remain. The vote also complicates things for the Irish, who will now face barriers to the free movement of goods and workers between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

For one American visiting Britain this week, the result will be of particular interest. An anti-establishment campaign, talking tough on immigration, accused of stretching the truth? Its victory will surely bring a smile to the lips of Donald Trump.

The U.K. voted to quit the European Union after more than four decades in a stunning rejection of the continent’s postwar political and economic order.

Why Britain Voted to Leave the EU

The pound plunged to the lowest since 1985 and Asian stocks tumbled in one of the most dramatic 24-hours in modern British history. Sterling initially soared after an opinion poll suggested that 52 percent of voters had backed “Remain.” That rally evaporated as results started to roll in showing that investors and pollsters had miscalculated. At 5:11 a.m. London time, BBC projections showed voters backing “Leave” by 52 percent to 48 percent.

 

“This is the biggest shock to European politics since the fall of the Berlin Wall,” said Rob Ford, professor of politics at Manchester University. “How can the prime minister possibly go on after a rejection as emphatic as this?”

The vote sets the U.K. up for years of bitter divorce talks with the EU and deals a body blow to Prime Minister David Cameron, who said such a result would tip the country into recession. JPMorgan Chase & Co. and HSBC Holdings Plc have said Brexit would lead them to move thousands of jobs out of London. The outcome is also a victory for Boris Johnson, who broke with former schoolmate Cameron to help lead the “Out” campaign and sets him up for a potential tilt at the premiership.

 

 

Beyond Britain’s shores, the result will fan speculation that more countries could withdraw from the EU and gives a fillip to populist insurgents such as Donald Trump and Marine Le Pen. Above all, it shows just how disillusioned Western voters have become with the political establishment for failing to deliver more inclusive economic growth in the era of globalization.

Firefighting

The market rout had echoes of the 2008-2009 financial crisis. The pound fell as much as 11 percent to $1.3305, on course for its worst day on record. Oil tumbled 5.3 percent, gold jumped 5.7 percent and futures on the FTSE 100 Index fell 7 percent. HSBC, which earlier this year opted to keep its headquarters in London, plunged as much as 8.7 percent in Asian trading. The selloff was compounded by the fact that markets had rallied over the past week on optimism that the U.K. would vote to stay.

 

Finance officials may have to start firefighting in the next few hours. The Bank of England has already said it will monitor liquidity conditions in the referendum’s aftermath. It may end up having to cut interest rates or revive quantitative easing. Today’s decline in the pound already far exceeds its previous record decline in 1992, when it fell 4.1 percent on Black Wednesday, the day the currency was forced out of Europe’s exchange-rate mechanism.

Elsewhere, the Federal Reserve may delay raising rates. Denmark, Switzerland and Japan could intervene in markets to avoid surges in their currencies.

Rag-Tag Victory

The result marks a victory for a rag-tag band of politicians and executives who took on Britain’s establishment and won. Conservatives Johnson and Michael Gove broke with Cameron to form a loose alliance with the U.K. Independence Party, arguing that the island nation can go it alone in an era of globalization. It was also a massive victory for UKIP leader Nigel Farage, who has campaigned for the U.K. to leave the EU for a quarter century.

“Let June 23rd go down in our history as our Independence Day,” said Farage, a former commodities broker. “The euroskeptic genie is out of the bottle and it will now not be put back.”

Tapping into voters’ worries about immigration, the pro-Brexit leaders said that Britain can only exert full control over its borders and budget by leaving the EU. That promise overcame repeated warnings from Cameron and a cast of supporters that included the Pope, the Archbishop of Canterbury and the U.S. president.

 

 

 

The murder of pro-EU lawmaker Jo Cox last week slowed without stopping the momentum behind the Brexit message.

The next steps are unclear as politicians in Britain and the rest of Europe feel their way through the unprecedented situation.
