Where Have All The Flowers Gone(花はどこへ行った）　はＡｍｅｒｉｃａｎ  Ｆｏｌｋ  Ｓｏｎｇで最も有名な曲です。1955年、Pete Seeger （ﾋﾟｰﾄ･ｼｰｶﾞｰ）は､ﾛｼｱの作家、ﾐﾊｲﾙ・ｼｮｰﾛﾎﾌの大河小説『静かなドン』にある、ｺｻｯｸ民謡の歌詞をﾋﾝﾄに作りました。彼は1960年ﾘﾘｰｽのｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”The Rainbow Quest”に3番までの歌詞で曲を収録しましたが、そのままこの歌を忘れていました。その後、Joe Hickerson(ｼﾞｮー・ﾋｯｶｰｿﾝ)が4番と5番の歌詞を書き加えました。ﾋｯｶｰｿﾝによる4番(「兵士たちはどこへ行った...」)と5番(「墓はどうなった...」)が加わっているほか、4・5番の追加と整合性をとるためか、3番の最後の部分が「制服を着た」から「兵士になった」へ、全体を通して繰り返されるﾘﾌﾚｲﾝも「あなたは いつになったら わかるのだろう」から「彼らは いつになったら わかるのだろう」へと書き換えられています。

1961年、The Kingston Trio はｼﾝｸﾞﾙをﾘﾘｰｽ、翌1962年にﾋｯﾄしたが、その背景には、米国がﾍﾞﾄﾅﾑ戦争に関わり始めたことがありました。ﾋｯｶｰｿﾝのﾝｱｰｼﾞｮﾝで歌われ､以降、これが標準的な歌詞となりました。

1962年には、Peter;Paul&Maryはﾌｧｰｽﾄ･ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”Peter;Paul&Mary”に収録、こちらもヒットし、以降、同曲は反戦歌として広く親しまれるようになりました。同年、ﾊﾞｰﾄ・ﾊﾞｶﾗｯｸが編曲しMarlene Dietrichはﾌﾗﾝｽ語･ﾄﾞｲﾂ語によるｶﾊﾞｰも行っています。The Brothers Fourは1964年､ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”More Big Folk Hits ”に収録､PPMと同様に､3番の歌詞は「若い男」から「夫」となっています。 Johnny Riversは １９６５年､ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”Johnny Rivers Rocks The Folk”にﾌｫｰｸ･ﾛｯｸﾊﾞｰｼﾞｮﾝで収録しています。
