Simon&Gafunkelは1963年にリリースされたアルバム"Wednesday Morning, 3a.m."(水曜の朝、午前3時)でデビューしました。"Last night I Had The Strangest Dream"はこの中に収録されています。Paul Simonがバンジョーを演奏しています。また、歌詞もI never dreamed beferのneverをeverと替えて歌っていますので注目して聞いてみてください。

この曲はEd McCurdyが1950年に発表、プロテストソングの代表曲となっています。私が聞いたのはは高校生のころだと思います。丁度、ベトナム戦争が話題となっていた頃で4曲入りのThe Kingston Trioのレコードを買い歌を覚えました。

なお、The Kingston Trioは "Time To Think"1963年、 The Brothers Fourは"Let's get together"1969年、Pete Seegerは"The Completre Bowdoin College Concert"1960年のそれぞれのアルバムの中に収録されています。
