Pete Seeger
Pete Seegerが昨年１月２７日に亡くなり、もう１年がたとうとしています。
学生時代にPete Seegerのｺﾝｻｰﾄに行き感動を受け。American Folk Songの世界に引き込まれました。自分自身に大きな影響を与えたSingerです。このｺﾝｻｰﾄであの顔をあげ、VEGAのをLONGNECK BANJOを持ち、足を踏み鳴らしながら、歌っていたのがこの曲”Little Boxes”です。そのﾎﾟｰｽﾞはいまだに目に焼き付いています。
この曲の作者は「雨を汚したのは誰」等を作ったMalvina Reynolds(ﾏﾙｳﾞｨﾅ･ﾚｲﾉﾙｽﾞ）です。我が家を持つのが夢であった我々、団塊世代の歌でもあります。今、子供たちは、我々と同じように”Little Box”に入っています。夢であった我々の”Little Box"は2人だけ、いずれ”空箱”になってしまうんでしょうね。
なお、この歌をｶﾅﾀﾞのｲﾝﾃﾞｨｰｽﾞ･ﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞWalk Off The Earthが面白いｱﾚﾝｼﾞで歌っていますのでご紹介します。
