「You Were on My Mind」は1962年にIan & Sylvia（ｲｱﾝとｼﾙｳﾞｨｱ）のSylvia Fricker（ｼﾙｳﾞｨｱ･ﾌﾘｯｶｰ）によって書かれました。彼らは1964年､ｼﾝｸﾞﾙとしてﾘﾘ-ｽ､同年､ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”Northern Journey”に収録されました｡

1964年､ｻﾝﾌﾗﾝｼｽｺのﾌｫｰｸﾛｯｸ･ｸﾞﾙｰﾌﾟ､We Five（ｳｨ･ﾌｧｲｳﾞ）がｶﾊﾞｰし大ﾋｯﾄとなりました。 1965年Billboard･Hot 100で3位､ｲｰｼﾞｰﾘｽﾆﾝｸﾞ･ﾁｬｰﾄで5週連続1位､さらに1965年の年間ﾁｬｰﾄの4位を記録しました。そして､同年発売のﾌｧｰｽﾄ･ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”You Were on My Mind” もｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ･ﾁｬｰﾄで32位を記録しました。

そして､1965年､Barry McGuirはｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”Eve Of Destruction ” に1966年､The Lettermenはｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”More Hit Sounds Of The Lettermen! ”に 1970年､Jay And The Americansはｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”Wax Museum ”に2012年､米国の女優、歌手のRita Wilsonはｱﾙﾊﾞﾑ”AM/FM ”に曲を収録しています。
